Only one trophy away to acquire my beloved Platinum Trophy.

Grinding out the last character of the Gunzerker to get his character specific trophy then I will likely sell game on ebay and then rebuy when game of the year comes out if the dlc's are well regarded.

Great game over all, and would be more than happy to purchase a BL3 should it ever come into being.

I just started True Vault Hunter mode yesterday while sitting home sick. Have to admit, finding trouble staying motivated to run through it again. Just got to Sanctuary. Not sure there is enough there to keep me interested enough to keep going. May trade mine in sooner rather than later towards XCOM.Edit to add: Did people say they die a lot on this second run early on? I think I've died twice. Once trying to shoot Bullymog projectiles and not paying attention to my health. :bag: The other time doing Symbiosis. That's it. Enemies take a lot longer, and a lot more ammo, to kill. But I'm not finding the game any harder. Got through Boom Boom and Capt Flynt both without a single death.

Yeah, it can get repetitive no doubt as most games do. If it wasn't for trophy's I would probably have sold it as well.

That's what I was wondering. I'm not a trophy guy at all. I honestly never look at them. The first Borderlands, I did like three characters. But this one, I really don't feel like starting another. My son trading it in before we even co-op'd didn't help.

Boy, I have totally changed my mind on True Vault Hunter Mode. I was cruising, then hit a few missions that make me want to give up. I got the Doc Mercy mission to get the Eridium weapon. Died at least a half dozen times trying to beat him before finally succeeding. Went on to Assinate the Assassins. Died four or five times just trying to get past the super badass guarding the first assassin. Gave up on that. Moved on to Frostburn Canyon for the main mission. Died another half dozen times to a super badass I could barely scratch. This was after like the first two waypoints. At that point, I turned it off.

My weapons basically became suddenly useless. Everything resists everything I have. Damage is negligible. I guess this is supposed to be fun but, to be frank, it sucks. Dying a half dozen times every single area is not my idea of a good time. So I figure I have two choices, start a new character from scratch, or trade the game in. This whole True Vault Hunter mode pretty much soured me on the game, so odds are this weekend, it will become XCOM after I trade it off. Starting another character just doesn't sound interesting. Kind of the same thing that happened with Skyrim for me. One character and done.

Secured the Platinum trophy today. Lots of hours put into the game and enjoyed every minute (well except for the flying insects in Caustic Cavern :) . ).

Going to sell on ebay and then maybe pick it up again next year as the Game of the Year edition.

Went with a new character, a Gunzerker. Anyone have suggestions for fun builds? I found this guide and the first two builds seem interesting. But they may have been put up early after release and in truth suck.

Guess replay value is low on this one. Thread died quick once the game came out.
IMO the only downside to this game is that for me, its only fun when I play with friends. The catch is your friends need to be within 5-7 levels of you for you/them to be a factor. Unless you happen to play the same nights you inevitably get ahead or behind in levels as your buddies.

Sort of enjoying the Gunzerker character. Way more so than Zer0. Just seems more fun going in guns blazing, devastating opponents rather than trying to sneak around everywhere to find vantage points for sniping and having to cloak and run every time the heat was on. Only level 15 with him, but way more fun than I was having with the sniper build.

I've played gunzeker up to about level 15, zero to about 10 and now maya up to 25, so in terms of fun for me I'd rank them by how long I've stuck with them. Gunzerker is lots of fun, but watching bad guys fly across the screen and burst into flames is just too cool.

Figured she'd be a good support player in co-op, but didn't figure she'd be that good solo as enemies got tougher. Of course I thought that about the Siren in the original and she ended being by far my most devastating character in that game.

I didn't put any points into the healing tree and only occasionally will don my nurse mod as my brother, the commando, heals himself and I use transfusion grenades for my own healing. Right now I'm pretty much 50/50 between cataclysm and motion and she does well both solo and coop. Phaselock still does good damage to guys it can't actually phaselock.

Finished the DLC...that was awful and wasn't much of a challenge at all. I'm level 37 so I'm not sure what else to do with this game. For some reason the game won't allow me to enter true vault hunter mode. I thought about doing the Siren build, but Gunzerker fits my playing style.

Maybe I'll wait for the other DLC, but if it is as bad as the captain scarlet (sic) I'm going to be pissed for buying the season pass.

It also pisses me off that the game "lost" about half of my guns. I farmed the warrior, which isn't a challenge anymore, for a bit and managed to replace most of them, but I lost about 4 items from shift codes which really pisses me off.

Think I'm level 18 or 19 and he's loosing his luster. Not blaming the character though. I just don't think the game has a good enough story to hold me twice. My main regret if I give it up and trade it in for XCOM or whatever will be that I never even got to see an orange weapon. Admittedly, I find that hugely disappointing. Especially when you consider I used a gold key or two at fairly high level with my first character. To finish the game, use three or four gold keys and NEVER see an orange, I think that is a FAIL on the part of the programmers.

Wow, I did not even think that was possible. I got some orange weapons as rewards just for completeing certain missions. They were very rare though. I probably got 15 total after two play throughs.

My second playthrough(which I had to start over fresh because I'm dumb)I got an Orange pistol off the first challenge in Claptrap's House. (Wee look at me)

Definitely never got one as a reward. Finished the game and even farmed the Warrior three or four times trying for one. No dice. My son did point out that I may have gotten one dropped by the Warrior but that they are known to fall in to the lava and become inaccessible. I even started True Vault Hunter mode trying to get one. Admittedly I didn't take that very far because I though it sucked. But still, no orange. That was with a level 37 character. As I said, character 2 is level 18 or 19 and I still have never come across one. It sucks.

finished my 2nd play through and tried to fight terramorphus. He can pretty much 1 hit kill me any time he wants and there's nothing I can do to stop it.

I have a level 50 bee shield and I've been farming the warrior for like 3 days (I can kill him in like 3 minutes now) trying to get a conference call shot gun. No such luck. Hell, even if he did drop a rare item, there's like a 50% chance it would end up under his body or miles out in the lava anyway.

Ready to give up at this point. Not even remotely worth the aggravation. I have another shotgun that deals like 8000 x 17 explosive damage, but from what I can tell, I'd have to hit right in the eyes like 50 times with that to even come close to killing him. Its just silly.

You don't need the cc shot gun. Just get your best shot gun and the bee shield and find a certain spot. You should be able to take him down in a few seconds. When you fall through the gates to fight him, turn 180 degrees. Then look for the rocks and run for them. There is a little alcove you can jump on, and squat which will protect you from most of his hits.

They must have patched that or something because I just tried it 3 times and he can hit me very easily.

turns out the recent patch did nerf the bee shield. The actual damage is lower and is spread out among all the projectiles.

So instead of getting +50K for each of my 17 shot gun pellets, its like 40K DIVIDED by the 17 pellets.

edit: this is PC, by the way

I don't get it. Playing the new DLC and all the enemies, sans the third level of pete's bar, are level 30 as are the weapons. I'm level 39 and this is just boring.

Was pretty disappointed with the replayability factor of this one. Played it through once, then started a second character. Didn't make it but maybe a 1/4 of the way through. Then I got XCOM and haven't gone back. Admittedly it is at a disadvantage, being a sequel and all. But still, was hoping for more out of the game than what I got for $60.

I got close to 100 hours of play out if this game for $13 bucks (bought at $50, sold for $37). I can't really ask for more value than that out of a game.

I haven't sold mine yet so hard to say if I got value like yours. We'll see shortly though. I'm not likely to hang on to it much longer.

Playthrough 1 or 2 is probably the issue. Playthrough 1 is level 1-35ish. If your over that level then it is time to move on to true vault hunter mode.

I forget what version you have but the PS3 versions have been selling in the mid 30's this week. If you want to sell this is a pretty good time I think.

I'll take it in Monday. We have a Gamestop on base and I like to walk over their during my lunch break. I'm not playing it anymore so there really is no reason to be hanging on to it.

Do you have luck selling at GameStop? I stopped selling my games their years ago once I realized how little I was getting for them compared to eBay. Let me know how you do, they may have improved after this much time. As I mentioned you should get in the 30's easy if they are some what competitive with the open market.

Not that I doubt you guys but who is paying 30+ for this game used when you can buy it for 40 bucks used in stores?

Is this a trick question? I guess my answer would be anyone who wants to save money. I may be misunderstanding you I think (I assume you meant "new in stores" but the answer still seems obvious). Here are the recent eBay sales for used Borderlands 2 games on the ps3http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=Borderlands%202%20ps3&_pppn=r1&_dmpt=Video_Games_Games&LH_ItemCondition=4&LH_PrefLoc=0&LH_Complete=1

You understand me correctly. Not having to wait, having the backing of a B and M store if something goes wrong is worth a couple of bucks to me.

Cool. For other people I guess it isn't. That is what makes eBay so wonderful. There is almost always someone out there willing to buy what you sell. I can't count how much money I have saved over the years buying and reselling on eBay for video games.

So, how do I switch (xbox)?
After you finish the game you are given a choice to do VHM. If you have completed it, load the game and then don't choose continue, choose a character. Then in that screen simply choose the character that has completed the game and it will ask you if you want to try VHM. If you choose VHM, you will immediately start the game from the beginning with every enemy leveled up. It is pretty challenging. With the harder enemies come much better loot.

Not sure what you mean by luck per se. I just take them in and ask what they'll give me. As a member, I automatically get an extra 10% on the trade in. Also, they often have sales where you get an extra 30% on trade-ins or whatever. I usually hold my games for one of those since I rarely by new games, so the value is already down by the time I trade my used ones. So I guess an example would be, I traded Skyrim, Demon Souls and Bioshock 2 in, and it paid for Borderlands 2 pre-release. For me, the convenience of the store being right there is the biggest factor. I'm not an ebay user or anything and simply never use those type of sites. So you likely get a bit better value. I'm sure Gamestop is making money off me, otherwise they wouldn't be in business. But I'm fine with what I get there.

anyone on the PC want to fight terramorphus with me? I've been trying to do it solo, but just can't survive long enough to kill him. Found an AWESOME weapon to do damage (an E-tech fire assault rifle with a sick rate of fire) but once he hits me, I die very quick. And once I take any damage, I lose the benefit of the bee shield, which means I can't hurt him anymore.

Just want to kill this ### hole one time and I think its pretty much impossible solo post-patch (at least without the conference call, which i can't get)

Traded this in this past weekend. GameStop was offering $30 for it (plus the 10% member bonus) and I realized I was never going back to it. Have to say, was disappointed with the staying power of this one. Just didn't have that "it" of the original for me. I didn't really even notice much of the big improvements everyone spoke of when it came to graphics, etc. Just seemed like the original games with some new characters.

I just picked this game up for the PS3 if anyone is still playing.... My ID is FY1Cuda. May take me a while to reach the levels you are all at though, lol.

I know nobody is playing anymore but I finally managed to solo terramorphus last night. Not an easy task post patch since they nerfed the bee shield and bumped his health. Also bought the season pass for the dlc. The first one was pretty fun and it gave me the weapon I needed to kill terra

He was way too easy with the Bee shield at its original configuration. How did he compare after the fix with the Raid Boss (Crawmerax) in BL1? I could only beat him using the location glitch

Never played bl1 so I can't compare. Also, I can not figure out how people hide behind that little rock in terra's arena. I feel like I'm in the exact same spot, but he can still damage me. My next challenge is spawning and killing venamorphus. They've got a promotion going on that makes it easier to spawn him. Also gonna take a shot at hyperius, who is the raid boss for the first dlc

spent two hours trying that at tundra express and could never do it (got like four super-bad-asses and numerous chubbys). Didn't help that mordici kept shooting everything.

I love BL2 particularly the co-op mode. Does anyone have recommendations for other games that have high quality co-op modes? I know Left 4 Dead 2 has a very good one and Far Cry 3 has one but it seems relatively small compared to the single player campaign.

Any others that are highly regarded
