Official Calvin Johnson Thread (1 Viewer)

every report I've seen so far says he's in, but the czar seems to think he's out.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: It looks like the Redskins will be minus WR Santana Moss and the Lions won't have rookie WR Calvin Johnson for this game.

I am a little skeptical.....

SCOUTING REPORT AND PREDICTION: Why Lions will beat Redskins

October 7, 2007

Free Press sports writer Nicholas J. Cotsonika scouts today's Lions-Redskins game:

Lions' passing offense vs. Redskins' pass defense

The Redskins have a strong secondary that can compete with the Lions' receiving corps. They're four-deep at cornerback -- Shawn Springs, Carlos Rogers, Fred Smoot, David Macklin. They have two standouts at safety in Sean Taylor and rookie LaRon Landry.

Let's see how Landry, the sixth overall pick in this year's draft, stacks up against wide receiver Calvin Johnson, the second overall pick. Johnson will return after missing a game with a bruised lower back.

Everything I have heard around here seems to indicate he will play, but it's not etched in stone.

When Fred Smoot is 3rd of the 4 being mentioning as depth, that isn't depth, it's a glaring weakness.

(11:59 a.m. ET) ESPN's John Clayton is reporting Calvin Johnson (back) is listed as active for the Lions. He's safe to start against the Redskins.
