Official Carolina QB Thread (1 Viewer)

FoxSports.com reports that David Carr, not Matt Moore, would start for the Panthers Sunday if Vinny Testaverde can't play.

The Panthers will give Vinny a muscle relaxant for his back Saturday night in hopes that he loosens up in time for the game. If the Panthers are so desperate to avoid playing Carr, fantasy leaguers should be as well.

That's too bad. Moore interests me - I'd really like to see what he could do on the field. I'm sure S Smith would like to as well!

(*!@^$@(!* i can't pull the trigger on benching him for henry now.

hes way too overdue....but it is david carr...

FUUUUUUUUUDGE!!! Is that POS Carr definitely starting? If so, I'm benching Smith in every league...if Moore starts, I'll keep him in.

geez...on the one hand you've got a GREAT mtchup against the NO defense...on the other hand you've got Carr at QB.

what to do with Smith? Toomer instead? Brown? (not against the Pats!).

i wish i'd drafted TO or Moss instead of Smith!!!

Smith's line against the Saints in the first matchup was 4-47-1. The TD was nice but the vast majority of the game saw Carr struggle badly to get the ball to Smith. He was rarely targeted and though he did score late his production for most of the game was pathetic given the matchup.

I would view Smith as now being in the 35-40 range among WRs this week. If you have good options who rank higher I'd start them without hesitation. Carr has simply shown no ability whatsoever to get the ball to Smith consistently either in good matchups or bad ones. There's certainly a chance Smith could go off but the risk factor is far too great in my opinion. If you have no other choice, start him and hope for the best but be prepared for the worst.

Would you consider Santana Moss at Bucs a better start? Or Gore vs a tough Cards rush D a better start?God, why does David Carr hurt me so :goodposting:

anybody else keeping smitty in?
Benched him for Hackett in one league, but keeping him in over Boldin in another. It feels like I have that backwards, but that's how it stands right now. I'll probably change my mind ten times in the next 13 minutes.
