Ok I'll step up to the plate with SEC reeling. TCU may have belonged in but over Florida State. They wouldn't have got in regardless because Baylor would have got in over them. Playoff committee would be better off not releasing polls. That's not what they are there for anyway. It caused some misplaced controversy. Bama is a good team and did belong out there tonight. The thought that they didn't in a 7 point game is ludicrous but SEC has definitely come down to earth. Big 12 needs to grow up and have a championship game. They're so hung up on cupping Texas and Oklahomas nuts they screwed over the rest of the conference this year. It's always been that way and you know some older Nebraska alums are laughing about it right now.

Several times. Because there were quite a few years where teams lost early in the year and were vastly improved by the time the season ended. I can think of a couple of years when USC missed out because they played a lot of young players who grew/developed rapidly.

Bowl games are just an excuse for old white guys to line their own pockets while claiming to do charitable work. There is nothing negative that would come of eliminating all the bowls.
