Didn't get to watch the game unfortunately but I guess fortunate for my blood pressure. Sounds like what I have read was accurate with the Hawks sleep walking through the 2nd and 3rd and the Wings just dominating. Hopefully an ### kicking like this will wake them up a bit and we'll get a full 60. I am guessing Carcillo will sit and Stalberg will be back in on Monday.Ok Hawks64, I see where you are coming from. Piss poor effort.
It looks like game #5 is nationally televised as well. :tinfoil:how bout you use that talent and pick the powerball numbers....i actually have wings 3-1Once again I fired up the X-box at lunch and played the next game of the series:1st PeriodDetroit comes out with ridiculous energy. They win the opening faceoff and the puck never leaves the Chicago zone until 1:34 later when the ref pulls an Abdelkader wrister out of the net as the Joe goes insane. Detroit's pressure gradually lessens as Chicago recovers from their uninsipred start. Midway through the period Toews is all alone with an out-of-position Howard but rings its off the crossbar and into the stands. With 3 minutes left Chicago gives up a 2 on 1 break and Eaves buries it behind Crawford. 2-0 Detroit
2nd PeriodBoth teams come out focused offensively and the play is a track meet up and down the ice. Sharp slams in a one-timer that Howard had no chance on. A late powerplay gets the Redwings fans to their feet but a misplayed puck at the blue-line gives Frolik a breakaway which finds the twine. Momentum has swung to Chicago and the Joe is quiet. 2 - 2 Tie
3rd PeriodJust like the 2nd period both teams come out focused and give the fans their money's worth. An early Blackhawks penalty brings the Detroit powerplay back to the ice, and with a Zetterberg slapshot they redeem themselves. The tight play continues both ways until Crawford leaves the net for an extra attacker. With 25 seconds left in regulation Bertuzzi fills the empty net. 4-2 Detroit
3 Stars1st Datsyuk2nd Zetterberg3rd Bertuzzi
* Odd that in both the games I played the score wound up 4-2 with the scoring going 2-0, 2-2, and 4-2.

Thank you for the laugh teamramrod, I need it after last night. Not exactly the result I was hoping for, but then again a win Thursday puts everything back on plane. Reminds me alot of 2010 when the Predators pinned two 4-1 losses on Chicago to go up 2-1.Difference is no back to back losses, a much better Goalie in net, a big physical Top 6 winger, Top 4 D man out until Game 5, and a more physical 1st, 2nd and 4th line.sorry to be a dbag...but HERE WE GO REDWINGSHERE WE GO.. peaceThank you for the laugh teamramrod, I need it after last night. There is no reason for this many days in between games. IMO it's advantage Detroit. Hawks have to stew in the crap they put on the ice last night for 3 days. That's not good mentally. I am so f'ing pissed still. I can't even watch the sports cast on the news right now.I hear you Hawks, my stomach is in knots as I'm a pessimist by nature. On a side note, anyone else hate the 3 days between games?
I was in the wrong thread everyone. I figured that out once I sobered up a bit. I plead over exuberance from a great game and the excitement of watching my boys show that we may be done but never out.Doctor Detroit said:I don't want people doing this in the Tigers thread so don't do it to them.teamramrod said:forearm to the back of the head

I always feel like that before big games. Moving Sharp to Toews LW is interesting. I would like to see Stalberg moved to RW and then Hossa to #2 with Kane. Kane and Hossa have always been a very good give and go tandem, more so than Kane and Toews together. I wouldn't even be opposed to Bickell moving to Toews LW.It's going to be interesting to see what Q will do to try and limit Z's effectiveness on Toews.Shocked.And the feeling begins again for tonight's game
Pretty sure that was Kane. Toews seemed to be out there a lot.CBC broadcast said that Toews played two shifts in the last twelve minutes of the third period until taking a third shift after the EN goal. That is telling. Kane has looked disinterested at times as well.
At that point i thought they were playing together, but in all honesty i may not have been at 100% comprehension at that pointPretty sure that was Kane. Seabs is a hot mess right now and has been all year. Rosy was the best D man last night IMOWhitetail Hunter said:Why did Seabrook and Leddy only play 12 and 8 minutes each? Oduya and Rozival played over 20 apiece. Why did Kane only have 3 shifts in the last 11 minutes? One of those was after the empty netter.Q needs to answer these questions IMO.
A couple of the guys on the CBC broadcast speculated that Seabrook may be dealing with some sort of injury. Kane was not showing a whole lot of effort all game long.
Howard is playing very well but is definitely being helped by being able to see 90+% of the shots clearly. Hawks can't or won't put any traffic in front of the net. They are no longer forechecking effectively, which IMO is because the Wings D are hitting them every chance they get.CBC broadcast said that Toews played two shifts in the last twelve minutes of the third period until taking a third shift after the EN goal. As a Wings fan, I have seen what you hawks fans are going thru a few times. Coming in as a higher seed that rolled thru regular season, dominating play for long stretches, having a call or two go against you (no goal in game 3, and the toews penalty on abdelkader last night, etc) outshooting opponents, only to run into a hot goalie and develop ever-increasing frustration. Its maddening as a fan to go thru it.
I still think the hawks win game 5 and then, despite being up 3-2, the pressure will be on detroit to win in game 6 at home. I think Howard is an above average goalie that is playing out of his mind right now and that may change. Hawks gotta stay out of the box, despite the fact that the PK has been stellar, it still takes away from attack time in detroits end. If your big guns snap out of it, this easily could be a decisive win in game five, an OT type win in game 6, and a blowout in game 7.
Spoken like a paranoid wings fan, eh?

Series is far from over. Though , as a wings fan i have seen that a million times and I sympathize with you guys. Its incredibly frustrating as a fan to see your team being beaten by a team that doesnt have as much overall talent.Howard is playing very well but is definitely being helped by being able to see 90+% of the shots clearly. Wings are in the Hawks heads, see Toews for the prime example. Babcock is out coaching Q every step of the way and is getting his players to buy in and out work the Hawks.
I think he's frustrated with how much he's been shut down by both opponents in the playoffs. Also not playing with any confidence in the offensive end as a result of the slump he's in.Last night was the first game in a while that I thought they really missed a guy like Byfuglien. No one is really owning that role on this team.
There were also a few times last night that I said to myself "WTF is Kane?"
Toews seems like something off the ice is weighing on his mind. Three consecutive penalties and outbursts in the penalty box are not like him at all.
Add in not many other Hawks F will play physical so he has to take on all the roles. Dig out the pucks/get to the net/create chances. The question is, is it Q's system that discourages physical play or is it a soft skill only team? I think a bit of both is at play and wonder what a coach like Tippet would do with this team.I think he's frustrated with how much he's been shut down by both opponents in the playoffs.
