Official Chris Brown thread (1 Viewer)

I don't think it matters.

White is rushing the ball well and he is also looking like a stud in the making. Oakland has been awful against the run this year too.

Per TSN:

Oct. 26, 2007 - 2:47 p.m.

Brown (ankle) practiced some Friday and could play this Sunday against Oakland. "I got a little bit of work in," he said Friday. "Hopefully, it'll get better and better and be ready to roll. It's going to come down to how I work out before the game and what they think, but I feel like I should be able to go on Sunday."

Fantasy Source spin: Even if Brown plays, he's not a strong fantasy option. Skip him this week and see if he proves himself worthy of consideration for next week.

You think Chris Henry will get some carries?
Henry....As Per TSN:Oct. 23, 2007 - 12:14 p.m.

The Nashville Tennessean reports Titans coach Jeff Fisher said Henry "did what we thought he would do" by taking 11 carries 57 yards in his first NFL game but he didn't leapfrog Chris Brown, who is expected to return to action this week against the Raiders.

Fantasy Source spin: Henry still has a lot of upside, and he deserves a spot on your bench.

You're right - with 6 teams on the bye, why would news on a guy who is a backup on many fantasy leagues matter.

Edge, Dunn/Norwood, McGahee, JJ/MBIII, LJ, and SA... you are right, there are 6 teams on a bye... but there are also better backups to be had this week, especially when you watch the Titans and see how well White is progressing this season, especially in the passing game. But then again, if you don't like my opinion, so be it. Thanks for the support. :goodposting:

I hear what you're saying, Chris Brown's status matters to Chris Brown owners. I think what Maddhatter meant was that it shouldn't matter much to Lendale owners since he's going to get the majority of carries regardless of Chris Brown's status.

Yeah. Looking at past games, it would seem that regardless of Brown's status, White will probably get 18-24 carries today. And his backup, Brown or Henry, will get 11-14.

Before last week, FatDale was averaging a monster 3.17 yards per carry. His herculean 104 yard effort on 27 carries raised this to 3.33 per tote so far.As his backups (Brown, Henry) have gotten more than a 3rd of the total carries in Tennessee and averaged 5.3 yards. In a week with 6 teams off, I will gladly take the 57 yards and a touchdown that Chris Henry got against Houston from Brown. Not to mention, that White looks just as bad as Benson in Chicago, but hatred for 3 yards and a cloud of dust runners don't come until people start spending 2nd rounders on them. And in the interest of being fair - I do care what you have to say Hatter. But in the thread about Brown's status, I only care if you have info about that. I don't care what you think about the merits of White vs. Brown. If you would like to pimp FatDale, feel free to start a post about it in the shark pool.

How do you have any idea what options other people have? And I'm not talking about Brown, I looking at because of byes and injuries having to start TJ Duckkett, Harrison, or Chris Henry on one of my leagues. If MJD doesn't play I might have to start two from that group. It would be a lot more helpful if you listed the options you consider better. Because simply saying there are better options assumes that you have any idea what options others have, which is of course impossible.

OUT this week...start Henry with confidence. By the way, Gerrard Warren is out, so the NFL's worst rushing D just got worse.

per Rotoworld

Titans declared RB Chris Brown, WR Brandon Jones, WR Paul Williams, CB Kelly Herndon, FB Ahmard Hall, G Leroy Harris and DE Sean Conover inactive for Week 8 against the Raiders.

Chris Henry will serve as LenDale White's backup for the second straight week, while Roydell Williams should continue to get additional targets with Jones out.
