Official Cowboys Offseason Thread. 4th pick overall (1 Viewer)

Thank goodness draft day is finally here.

Seems like most everything you read says we'll take Ramsey first, or Zeke if he isn't there. Seems like a RB at #4 is a bit of a stretch, but I'll be darn happy with either.

No need to get defensive here... and this has nothing to do with "eagles fan", you post in our thread often.  Wasn't an attack and I've never come here to poke the bear.  Just shocked that you posted a mock a day before the draft with him going round 2 when it seems highly unlikely that he will make it out of the first round.  I find those first 3 spots of round 2 seem like more then a typical 3 picks as well.  If you're a GM and wake up Friday morning and he is still available, I think the phone calls start getting made to the top 2 picks of round 2 in order to move up and grab him.  Cleve and Tenn would also likely want him themselves at that point.

Lol...well I explained my rationale for him dropping to 34...which is maybe 7 to 10 picks from some other mocks. I've seen him going later then 34.

What else is on your mind? You posted a one line sarcastic comment. I didn't know you wanted to shoot the #### with us. Also, we are 3 picks from the second to first round. Maybe we give a 4th to move up 5 spots.

Roll with it bud...

I guess I'm warming to E.E., but that's a tough pill to swallow picking a RB at 1.04. I still prefer Ramsay, but won't gripe too terribly much if E.E. is the pick. I also am fine with moving back. We'll see how it plays out soon enough.

 
If Ramsey IS available at 4, maybe there will be a team that really wants him bad enough and is willing to give up a bunch to get him.

Would love to trade back a bit, get Shaq, pick up an extra 2nd or more.

Get Dixon in the 3rd. People saying this kid is gonna be good. Or he just another Dunbar type ?

 
I think we'll find out just how much pull JJ has lost with his own team.  Stephen Jones has been running these drafts the past 3-4 years and has taken a very level-headed approach.  From what I'm reading JJ and Garrett want Zeke.  Stephen and the rest of the talent-evaluation team want Ramsey.  So stay tuned ...

I'm beginning to think a trade down is less likely.  I, myself, think what SteadyMobbin said makes alot of sense.  We have a shot at a top 5 guy.  Don't screw it up and just take our guy at #4.  If it's Zeke, it's Zeke.  If it's Ramsey, it's Ramsey.  If it's Bosa,  :X .

Trade down: Happiness, depending on the haul. Tequila shooters to calm my nerves until we pick again.

Draft Buckner:  Call Best Buy, as my TV will have a remote go through it. Tequila shooters, Johnnie Walker and beers. Not wasting any Crown on Buckner. Grrrr....

My brother was saying he heard some scuttlebutt that we might trade into the bottom of the 1st to grab a QB. Probably somebody's daydream.

 
I've heard this a few times now. Elliott in the 1st, move up into back half of 1st and draft WR Coleman. I am afraid we may be drafting DEF later. I'd rather trade down in the first.

 
Great pick!  Gets the most out of that all-star O-Line.

Two years ago with DeMarco Murray, the Boys made the playoffs and that strong rushing attack solidified a 'shaky' defense.  

Boy is he gonna be fun to watch behind that offensive line.  Fantasy gold Jerry!

 
Wait so the Cowboys had an offer to move back to 6 and turned it down?  Almost certain they still could have gotten Zeke there, right?

 
Who knows how much of what we hear is true, but the thing that bothers me the most is that supposedly Ramsey was the #1 player on their board, and it's obviously a position of need and a relatively premium position, but they take a RB instead.  Makes me think Jerry is back in charge, which we know isn't a good thing...

 
You guys aren't concerned at all that the team will burn out Zeke in 2-3 years with 350+ carries a few years in a row, similar to how Demarco got overused?
