In other news Ivanka and Eric Trump will not be voting for their father because they missed the deadline to register Republican.

Damn, this gets funnier by the moment. Even more hilarious is they are probably registered as Democrats.

I just saw it on Twitter which prompted my post.    Just mind-boggling that the Republicans are doing this. Trumps supporters are rabid and aren't going to come back with their tail between their legs.

Just as they turned on Fox News, they'll turn on the Republican Party in general.

Trump has warts but they had a chance at a republican president two months ago.  Now there is zero chance and their party is about to have the biggest joke of a convention in most of our lifetimes.
You guys know that CO has used similar systems the previous 3 elections and that the rules for this election were agreed upon all the way back in August, right?

Seems like the guy who didn't have a single paid campaign worker on the ground in CO until last week is probably more to blame for having no clue how to run a campaign than theparty.

And this kind of stuff is just more reasons for why Trump has, and has never had, a chance to win the national election. He has absolutely zero ground game in any state. He has coasted thanks to his billions of dollars worth of free media coverage. But it takes more than that to win the Presidency.

If he wants to have a chance, he needs to get a team together that knows what they're doing throughout this process. If he can navigate it to his advantage, but explain to the voters how complex and out of touch the process is, it's a win-win.

This whole process of delegates is part of the frustration people have with the system. Unfortunately, Don has to play by the rules in place and he's severely overmatched.

I was out this morning and saw a guy wearing a Triumph motorcycle hat. From the side it looked like a Trump hat, at least that's what I thought. I wasn't the only one as about 5 min later I heard someone yelling at this guy, watched the guy in n the hat turn and look at the aggressor, and then saw the aggressor apologize for his mistake. People are losing it.

He needed to do that 6 months ago. Too late. Cruz was in CO 8 months ago.

Again, the left is the most intolerant group out there. If they disagree with you they get nasty, it's kind of sad they are going back to their roots as the party of intolerance, but it was to be expected.

Similar to this black hat.

You Can't Spell Triumph Without Trump(tm)

Funny how the guy who keeps saying that he'll surround himself with the best and the brightest in order to solve all the world's problems can't even get get advice or figure out how the rules work in his own party's nomination process.

The fact that you assume the person was from "the left" is part of the reason why Trump is going to lose.

As you know, and I know, and certainly Jordan Spieth knows, there is no way that giving someone a free round of golf can be interpreted as a charitable enterprise. It's like giving the happy couple a pair of sterling silver thumbscrews as a place setting. However, it appears that He, Trump considers a free round of golf to be one of the primary corporal works of mercy.

Many of the donations also came in the form of freebies to Trump-owned businesses; the Post estimates he claimed credit for 2,900 free rounds of golf, 175 free hotel stays, 165 free meals, and 11 spa gift certificates. But in at least one case, Trump's accountants overvalued the amount for which his free golf rounds sold at a charity auction.

In other words, one of He, Trump's primary acts of charity is to bestow upon you the presence—real or vicarious—of He, Trump and/or his luxurious lifestyle. Give him this: his campaign, which always has been based on the premise that He's Trump, and you're not, and neither are those other losers, is consistent in its approach to everything about itself.

Trump charitable work not that charitable.  Knock me over with a feather.

I couldn't agree with this more. If he got a good team of advisors, I think he could potentially be ok. But the fact that he seems to be unable to do that, as well as adjust his antics based on public opinion, makes me think he's going to have a very difficult next few months.

It looks to me like he's entering the "crash and burn" phase of his campaign, where mistakes and inadequacies get exposed.  I'm surprised it has taken this long.

Hmmm....you take in $6 million in donations from your telethon....then you give the veterans 6000 free rounds of golf (at an inflated value of $1000 per round)....then you pocket the cash....

Yeah, he entered that about two weeks ago. And hasn't done anything right since. The Vegas odds reflect it. As does Higgs and dfsguy's disappearance. He's like a turtle on his back right now. Struggling to right himself, but flailing away miserably.

This can beat Hillary:

Anuzis, a paid senior adviser to the Cruz campaign, suggested the Trump-Kasich alliance has the makings of a general election ticket.

“I think we’re seeing the first signs of Kasich trying to pander to Trump and audition for vice president,” Anuzis told The News.

Trump gets his name in the history books, sits in the WH for a  couple years. Proclaims everything is now great, vacates to his hand picked successor. Kasich becomes pres.

Nothing wins votes better than a threat to quit half-way through your first term.

Kasich ran a commercial that basically compared Trump to Hitler. I have a feeling that neither candidate would be OK with that arrangement. And if they did the Dems wouldn't have to make their own ads, they could just run the one Kasich made for them.

Let's take some time to enjoy the transcript of that ad, shall we?

"You might not care if Donald Trump says Muslims should register with their government, because you're not one," says Moe, to an ominous soundtrack. "And you might not care if Donald Trump says he's going to round up all the Hispanic immigrants, because you're not one. And you might not care if Donald Trump says it's okay to rough up black protesters, because you're not one. And you might not care if Donald Trump wants to suppress journalists, because you're not one. But think about this: If he keeps going, and he actually becomes president, he might just get around to you. And you better hope there's someone left to help you."

He's not going to announce it. It's my prediction that, if he wins the WH, he will not stay 4 years.
Sure. Just like Biden was going to resign in 2008 and then Obama was going to name Hillary as the new VP and then Obama was going to resign.

Gun to your head, which do you place you wager on? (not who you want to win, but who you would lay your money on).

Odds to become Republican Nominee

Trump -125

Cruz +150

It gets better (worse):

- Ivanka made FIVE videos instructing Trump supporters how to register.

Ivanka Trump, the Face of Dad’s Get Out The Vote Effort, Forgets to Change Registration

Donald Trump’s daughter has mas made calls and videos asking supporters to do what she (and her brother Eric) forgot to do.

Re: trump/kasich:

George HW Bush famously called Reagans' economic plan "voodoo economics" in 1980, when they were both campaigning for the GOP nomination, and yet they managed to partner up for eight years after that.

Sure. Condemning an opponent's economic principles vs comparing him to Hitler and running your entire campaign around the idea that you're the sane, reasonable alternative to his insanity... pretty much the same thing.

I'm not going to gamble on this, but if I was, at this point my money would be on Cruz. Two reasons:

1. The Trump and Cruz people seem to be united on one thing: maintaining Rule 40, which would mean that the convention would come down to Trump or Cruz. There would be no shot for Kasich or anybody else to appear out of the blue. From what I understand, if the Trump and Cruz people stick to their guns and stay united they will be able to push this through.

2. If that happens, and Trump can't get enough delegates on the first ballot (which seems a near certainty) then all of the maneuvering that Cruz has been doing, plus all of the establishment influence, will be for Cruz, which should be enough to ensure him a victory on the second or third ballot.

Obviously a LOT can happen between now and then. But that's how I see things shaping up.
