Questions involving Trump’s businesses are about as murky as questions involving Trump’s transition team. Who has the ear of the president-elect, who has influence over his thought process, are questions that remain unanswered. During the meeting with tech leaders on Wednesday, Trump revealed there is no real organizational structure at Trump Tower, insisting his team has “no formal chain of command.”

Because the McCarran Ferguson Act hasn't been repealed.  If Congress had done that, though costs could have gone down under the ACA and we couldn't have that.

I can't wait to see the looks on people's faces in my area when their Social Security checks drop, Medicare costs go up, their 30-year-old kids lose their insurance because the ACA is gone, inflation is through the roof, and there are even less jobs.  

Mostly, I'm looking forward to hearing how this is all liberals' fault despite the Rs having both houses of Congress, the Presidency, and the Supreme Court.

I think that's exactly what's going to happen. Republicans have an agenda,  and their agenda does NOT benefit lower class workers,  regardless of race. 

A bunch of Trump voters are going to get a huge wakeup call over the next year.

- The problem here wasn't with the lousy review of the restaurant.

It was that the author compared the restaurant to Trump's forthcoming presidency.

I reflexively want to be generous in my assessment of what the post-election Trump Grill says about the Trump presidency. Perhaps it’s a sign that Trump is in over his head, and a shallow, mediocre man who runs a shallow, mediocre business empire (and restaurant) would sink and implode, crushing the expectations of millions of his hopeful supporters. But watching Trump parade his enemies through the nearby lobby, taunting them with prestigious appointments only to cruelly humiliate them, I had to look over at the human cattle herd at the Trump Grill, overwhelming a well-meaning staff with their dreams of a meal fit for a president, and wonder if he cared about any of them, either.

I did not give Obama the benefit of the doubt.  I was quite upset with him over ACA that I did not vote for him in 2012 because of it.  The reasons why I was upset are much different than yours.  IMHO he did not "lie directly to my face" because I don't think how the ACA turned out was how he intended.  I was hoping we would implement a single payer system, and I am sure you thought it was an over-reach.

The GOP "promising something better" does not comfort me, but I will hope for the best and give them the benefit of the doubt.  Everything I have heard that has been proposed does not sound much different than the ACA as it currently stands, so it confuses me that you are excited for what Trump is proposing, but think the ACA under Obama is the apocalypse.

Aside from the fact that he has thin skin, no understanding of the world, no interest in the plight of the working class, no respect for climate scientists or the environment, nor any other real applicable skills suitable for the presidency...aside from the fact that the russians, in combination with a conservative ingelligence leader from our own government, tipped the scales in his favor, meddling in our "free" elections to a scale not seen in modern politics...aside from the fact that his business ties will inherently lead to conficts of interest in dealing with people domestically and abroad....aside from the fact that the man is clueless in foreign affairs and most things domestic...aside from all of that...wait, there is no aside from all of that.  If even ONE of the things I mentioned above would've been present in a democratic presidential candidate, the right would be howling with indignation.  

All of the stuff about Barack Obama leading up to the election now seems petty in comparison.  Palled around with terrorists?  Closet Muslim?  Not really a christian?  Doesn't love america?  Might not be a citizen?  Not enough experience to be president?  Naive when it comes to foreign affairs, and russia?

Good lord...all of those are outright lies, but they got the entire republican party up in arms about Obama...UNIFT...TERRIBLE...We're doomed.  All lies.

But here you have the republican president elect who is a ton of MUCH worse things, verifiable, helped by a foreign power to win, lost popular vote by almost 3 million people...and folks are OK with it.

This presidency is going to be an epic catastrophe, the likes of which our country has never seen before.

Trumpcare (oh please) will be 85% of current ACA, yet, the right will see it as 150% better.

California accounts for over 13% of the nation's GDP and 12% of it's population. Why would we take them out?

What these anti-Trump politicians are doing isn't a surprise.  It's expected that they were going fight it every step of the way if someone wanted to come in and change the crooked system.  I'm sure Trump and Priebus had a good idea this would happen, too. 

 
The Democrats are trying to undermine the entire election process.   The ramifications of changing the election results would be catastrophic to the country. But they don't care.   They would do anything to keep Trump out of office. The Constitution and American people be damned.

Went to Howard.  Majored in Communications.  Worked as a pageant coach and image consultant.  

Was on Al Gore's scheduling staff for a while when Gore was VP. She was in charge of answering invitations.  Got fired for not doing her job and screwing up Gore's schedule.

Mainly famous for being abrasive on the first season of The Apprentice, back when being the villain on a reality TV show made you famous.  Lots of two-faced behavior and race-baiting.  Very composed during confessionals when it was just her and the camera, easily flustered in the run of play.

Trump dug her and kept bringing her back on The Apprentice in later seasons.  

She's not really qualified to do anything policy-related.  Pretty good at optics and manipulating people.  Generally not thought of as an intellectual, was a punchline come to life when Trump brought her on the campaign after it was joked Trump didn't know any other black women.  

Dated actor Michael Clarke Duncan for a few years, was his SO when he died.

I guess, like Trump, you haven't really read the Constitution

 
IIRC another reason allowing health insurance to cross state lines may not be a great idea is they would just pick one or two states to incorporate in where they could concentrate their political power to manipulate those state regulators at the expense of insurance holders. I think if we allowed it they should be regulated under federal control with uniform regulations and protections for the consumer.
