And?

BTW...you all should read more about the actual meaning of the phrase.
It means the race. It is usually implied "The Mexican Race." Therefore The Race Lawyers Association. I'm sure it doesn't mean the Chicago Street Gang by the same name.

Nah. First of all, he's a raging narcissist who probably actually believes that he will win. Second, even if he doesn't, he's building up a huge dedicated following of suckers to buy his steaks, vodka, and chinese clothing. They'll attend his seminars and speaking gigs. They'll watch his TV shows. They'll aspire to staying in his hotels and playing on his golf courses. The essentially free marketing he's getting from this run is astounding in value.
Yeah I considered that perspective, which is part of the reason why I thought it wouldn't happen. But there's also the possibility that if he can't rebut these racism charges more clearly, or if he keeps spouting this garbage, his efforts could harm his future business interests (and those of his children). I mean it's not like he's getting name recognition out of this. Everyone already knows who he is, and at best he's only gonna gain a few million extra suckers between now and November, at which point he'll either have to stop being a businessman for four years and do work that doesn't really seem to interest him at all, or be branded a loser for the rest of his life.

And remember, his business is global. Even if he does add a few American suckers to his customer list he's likely losing them overseas as his bigotry and xenophobia gain a larger audience there.

In contrast, bowing out for family/medical reasons buys someone a lot of goodwill and forgiveness, or at least forgetfulness.

I agree.

Don't forget his upcoming bestseller: How the Media Stole the 2016 Election From Me

That guy never met a conspiracy theory he didn't like.

It's entirely possible the right-wing money stream is worth more to him than his current business interests.

As I said, you should read a bit more about the meaning of La Raza.

Jesus, this guy appears to be even more of a dip#### than I thought, which is amazing because I think he's one of the biggest dip####s in American history:

Trump Orders Surrogates to Intensify Criticism of Judge and Journalists

During a Monday conference call with supporters, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee overruled a directive sent out by his own campaign.

An embattled Donald Trump urgently rallied his most visible supporters to defend his attacks on a federal judge's Mexican ancestry during a conference call on Monday in which he ordered them to question the judge's credibility and impugn reporters as racists.

"We will overcome," Trump said, according to two supporters who were on the call and requested anonymity to share their notes with Bloomberg Politics. "And I’ve always won and I’m going to continue to win. And that’s the way it is."

There was no mention of apologizing or backing away from his widely criticized remarks about U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is overseeing cases against the Trump University real-estate program.

When former Arizona Governor Jan Brewer interrupted the discussion to inform Trump that his own campaign had asked surrogates to stop talking about the lawsuit, Trump repeatedly demanded to know who sent the memo, and immediately overruled his staff.
"Take that order and throw it the hell out," Trump said.

Told the memo was sent by Erica Freeman, a staffer who circulates information to surrogates, Trump said he didn't know her. He openly questioned how the campaign could defend itself if supporters weren't allowed to talk.

Even that's a sidebar IMO. Again, it's absolutely apparent that he's a slimy self-absorbed POS. His actual attempts at serious policy positions are far more damning IMO.
I think he just doesn't want more stories speculating on his wealth.  His claim of being a billionaire seems rather shaky at this point.

He's going to win the case easily but is going nuts about the judge unsealing the records.  :loco:

It would not totally stun me if he fabricated a reason to bow out of the race before the convention, maybe a health/family emergency type thing.  I don't expect him to do so, but it seems many times more likely with him than with any other candidate of our lifetimes.
I think this is very possible.  The GOP has got to be brainstorming ways they can get rid of this guy?  Is there some bribe and/or blackmail that will make him go away?  They just cannot put this guy on stage at their convention.  Poor Mitch McConnell looked terrified when Chuck Todd asked him if Trump's statements were racist.  If he admits the obvious, the next question is "can you support a racist?"  And then what do you say?  Chuck eventually let him off the hook, but those questions are going to keep getting asked.

And he's going to get slaughtered in the debates.  And questions of his tax returns won't go away either.  And much, much more.

The big barrier of course is Trump's ego.  They can offer him a life raft, but will he be smart enough to get in?  :oldunsure:

"Katie Couric talks about my campaign. She knows nothing about my campaign.  We don't even let her in. We don't talk to her. We don't let people talk to her because she's not a very good reporter."

Have said it a few times already but anything that makes McConnell squirm is good by me. He is a lipless turd. Him, Christie, Rick Perry, Jindal, Ryan all backing Trump shows them to be the gutless shills everyone accuses politicians of being constantly, many times only because they are on "the other side". Thanks to Trump we get to see it in action. Have loved it especially from jackasses like a Rick Perry and Mitch and blowhard "tough guys" like Christie.

One of the best things to come out of this Trump crazyness.

Any Republican, especially active politicians, who won't support Donald should be given serious credit.

I just don't see how Trump would bow out, he will go down in a blaze of glory before he gives in to pressure to quit.  Like I said, as long as he sticks to his guns his base will continute to support him past the election.

When asked about Miss America's heartfelt comment about women in combat, this is what he said "I owned the Miss America Pageant and sold it to IMG.  For a lot of money, frankly. I loved owning it, I took it from being a sick puppy, I bought it for almost nothing, and sold it for many, many, many millons.  I thought IMG did a very good job. I thought the answer was excellent also."

Trumps instructions on conference call to his surrogates is to intensify the judge talk

Oof.  Throwing Newt under the bus like that might be the final straw.  Very very bad.  Starting to think Tobias may be right and there's a health condition in the making here.

The fact this dude has to mention money in everything is so lame. Who does this in real life? Who wants to hear this constantly? Complete total Dbag

I'm genuinely creeped out now by him.  It's way past the point of it being funny or even making me angry.  He's seriously not right in the head.

From the same article:

"A clearly irritated Trump told his supporters to attack journalists who ask questions about the lawsuit and his comments about the judge.

"The people asking the questions—those are the racists," Trump said. "I would go at 'em."

Just wait. This is a guy whose whole self-image appears to be in how he is treated by the tv and the pres. Before it was like a reality tv show, nefore that it was reality tv. Now they are on him like flies, the image they are portraying is awful and he cannot control it.

This is where you have finally had it

Come on, Higgs.
I almost feel like I can't give in.  I've come this far.  It reminds me of the last few months of my first marriage.

I'm a huge Newt fan and he has been so good to Trump the last past year.  Newt's gone out of his way to try reigning in Trump, both personally in his one-on-one consultations and on TV by smoothing over Trump's positions with the talking heads.

This is not good folks.  It will be interesting to see what Hannity says tonight.

I have thought he was delusional from day 1 and then he wins, and it steamrolled. Winning the nom is an amazing achievement, calling it mind boggling doesn't do it justice.

Why wouldn't he think he can do whatever he wants at this point?

Donald Trump Commemorates ‘Fallen Heroes’ of D-Day By Tweeting Photo of Not D-Day

...Remembering the fallen heroes on #DDay – June 6, 1944. pic.twitter.com/od7vsDMlHY

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 6, 2016

There’s just one problem with that photo, as Redstate points out. It’s not from D-Day:

Notice the guy just standing there with his arms on his hips, facing the troops coming ashore? Who did Trump think that was, exactly? Superman? This was a bloody invasion, a dangerous battle with high casualties. Bullets flying. Hand-to-hand combat. Explosions. But that guy was just standing there hanging out?

And who, exactly, would have taken this photo? The Germans? Look at the perspective.

As it turns out, the photo is from a news article that uses a Getty Images archive photo that is clearly captioned “1943: Troops coming ashore during training exercises for the Allied D-Day invasion.”

I understand not wanting to "give in" but the horse left the barn in Trump's head a long, long time ago. Super funny until he can actually do things. You know it, Higgs.

And   at "interesting what Hannity has to say tonight" one of the few people I put on par with repulsiveness with Trump. Different strokes for different folks though.

Looking forward to your debate! You are good at it.

You gotta think the RNC does something to remove him...they must...right?
I don't think that there is anything that they can do. They'll just distance themselves and watch him go down in flames while trying to limit their huge exposure down ticket. And they'll all be secretly hugely relieved when he loses. No one, and I do mean no one, with more than about five functioning brain cells can seriously believe that he would be a good President at this point. What a disaster for the Republican Party -- absolutely already worse than Goldwater at this point, and Trump has barely even started digging yet.  :lmao:

The people accusing him of Alzheimer's are the ones with Alzheimer's
I can't remember the last time he answered the question he was asked - let alone clearly and concisely.  Instead he rambles about some random thought until the interviewer asks him another question.  On these phone calls (like the Miss America one) it seems like he has someone telling him how to answer correctly at the end of the call after all the rambling.
