Lots of Gary Johnson ads in my neck of the woods. Starts off with an image of Trump mocking the disabled reporter, then says something negative about Hillary.

My question is this, why should I care if Trump mocks a disabled reporter?

All the people telling me that it is offensive are the same people mocking Trump for his hair, his skin tone, his small hands, his small bit of anatomy, the way he talks, the words he uses, his facial expressions, etc.

Why is it okay to mock one person but not another?
Don't you know that the only people it's always OK to make fun of in the US are white middle class (and above) males?

Missed all the town hall things or water ever they called them. Watching highlights of Trump's - per usual he is amazingly full of ####. For the thousandth time WTF is this guy doing this close to being the president

Trump just says so much bull#### that it's impossible to focus on one thing. This stuff about the generals alone tonight is cracking me up.

Where are all the faux patriot people when he is talking this much #### about the military.

And yet you refuse acknowledge that the nomination (abomination) of Hillary Clinton is a shameful historical embarrassment.  She sold out the state department for donations.  That's the definition of high crimes.  She ran a fraudulent charity.  She approved uranium deals and military technology deals with Putin Russia because they gave money to the phony charity.  She left Americas top secrets out in the open for any hacker to steal.  She persuaded a policy in Libya and Syria that has left 10s of thousands of dead bodies.  I'm just scratching the surface, but she recently threatened war with Russia over the DNC hacks.  I'm just scratching the surface.

The worst part about this nomination  is that much of this was known and the Democrats nominated her anyway.  Not only did they nominate her, they were complicit in the crimes, the coverups and the anti-democratic rigging of their own primary process.

This is truly one massive stinking pile of #### for a candidate and a political party.
Except that she didn't do any of those things. It's all conjecture; there's no evidence for most of your assertions.
Why even acknowledge that mess?  Rove! is a Trump guy through and through, he's the #1 fan of Trump even though he claims he's some sort of independent.  Liars and fakes is the kind of guy Trump recruits, Rove! is the quintessential Trump guy.  Bet he has six Trump bumper stickers on his '99 Durango.

That would still be a better candidate and person than Pence. Assuming they did not hit Trump

Or Palin, Bachmannn, Manafort, Lewandowski. Bannon, Huckabee, Carson, Santorum, Perry, Cain, Rubio, Cruz, Any Bush etc

WTF is wrong with the Repubs? can't they just find one decent candidate and agree on that one person?

The Dems got their own kind of wrong. but please, the crazy is STRONG with the republican party
They had one in Kasich...would've beat Hillary easy.

The political landscape in this country is beyond hopeless.

The crazy is plenty strong on both sides. Insane. Neither can view things through an unbiased lens. That goes for both Democrats and Republicans. It's like a never ending pissing contest. Two sides completely brainwashed. It's disturbing. Mostly because I view both parties as moving closer towards their ideological extremes. Take Obama for instance. He's far left than what JFK was like. JFK would be a Republican today. The left is going more left and the right is going more right.

Take a guy like Cruz though. He's far right than what even Reagan was, arguably the most conservative President we've had in generations (possibly ever).

I have my theories as for why things are the way they are regarding both parties, but nothing completely conclusive. I'd also like to know the exact time things started becoming like this. I often wonder, was this how politics were in the 1920's? What about before that? When did it become this completely and utter **** show?

If Democrats were really moving to the left, Bernie would have won. If Republicans were really moving to the right, Ted Cruz would have finished a close second to Pat Robertson.

I missed the Forum but based on the meltdowns, hatred, and name calling in here it must have been a success for Trump.

You guys have officially made the Shark Pool the most sane forum at FBG.

Hack feel free to make fun of me, I won't go crying to the mods like a little ##### and get you suspended for 3 months.

What's her motivation for doing all those things, to increase donations to her charity?  Doesn't make sense at all.  If you're going to prescribe all those wild accusations at Hilldog, at least come up with a reason better than she wanted more donations for her Foundation.  If you wanted me to believe that Clinton somehow gained more power through the above, at least that's something that I think would motivate her.  But charity donations, NFW.

I frequent a fitness board where the demographic is largely younger and less educated.  The vast majority of posters there felt Trump did "ok" and that Hillary got softball questions and just rambled on.  It's wild how different groups of people can view the same material and come out with a completely different interpretation.

Anyone send Trump a copy of A Few Good Men yet, so he can see that the military has a court system? Or send him some old JAG episodes.

I like the whole "I would have turned the plane around and left" because China didn't roll out a red carpet for me shtick.  I mean the guy is a lunatic.
Like many people have said, maybe we can do that at all of his rallies/appearances and he would go back where he came from.

It's scary. He really could win this thing. Somehow people listen to him and are impressed.

10 seconds fact checking this post leaves it in shreds.

It's remarkable how many faults can be balanced out by simply appealing to bitter, resentful white people who feel like they should be doing better in life.

Which is also the way that both Mussolini and Hitler rose to power.

And for those who scoff at this comparison, and scoff at my continual warning that Donald Trump's presidency could evolve into a dictatorship, I can only point out that the fact that millions of people are willing to vote for this man is in itself evidence that our democratic institutions are not nearly as strong as some suppose. They are fragile. I'm not at all sure the public cares about them.

I'm traveling in a hotel that only has CNN. Have it on in the background for probably an hour last night and this morning. They have talked about Trump for probably 45 minutes. The parts about Hillary are her talking about Trump.

it was pretty uneventful.
Is this how most Trump supporters are writing off the Commander-in-Chief forum that he clearly bombed? Where talked like a buffoon in front of active and former military who were aghast at what he was saying, and they said so afterwards? But "it was boring"? Sorry, he lost this last night. As in he didn't win, he looked and acted like a fool. But by all means, don't watch it, it was boring. Real low E stuff.

Wait, I always assumed his "we didn't take the oil!" thing was just a sarcastic way of describing how pointless the Iraq war was. Like, what he meant was somthing along the lines of "going to war for oil would have been bad enough, but we didn't take the oil so we went to war for nothing! Sad!"

Does he actually literally want to go back into Iraq and take their oil?

You'll never go wrong thinking the worst of him. He's a reality tv buffoon and his supporters have been taken in by the simplest of hucksters.

Yup. He wants our military to commit war crimes. In numerous different ways.

It's crazy! Their Trump coverage is nonstop. I can't watch them any more. When I do, I watch for a few minutes and realize why I stopped. Definitely as soon as Lewandowski or Pierson (and that big head dude Boris is about as bad) come on it's off.

Well he doesn't want to go back in, but he would have left troops there to defend some US entity taking their oil.

I know it shouldn't be, but this is just shocking to me. I've never seen a Presidential candidate who has such disdain for the members of the military. And it comes from a Republican. That's incredible.

But Lauer immediately quoted a 2013 tweet from Trump that said, "26,000 unreported sexual assaults in the military-only 238 convictions. What did these geniuses expect when they put men & women together?"

Trump defended the tweet.

"Well, it is a correct tweet," Trump said. "There are many people that think that that's absolutely correct. And we need to have a strength and we need to have —"

A few of Donald's tells that have become apparent:

- any time he says "believe me" total bull #### was just said.

- any time he breaths in deeply, makes this sucking noise through his mouth, total bull #### is about to be said.

- when he says "many people" it means he's completely bull ####ting and someone actually asked a follow up question.

I need to get this guy at a poker table

I know there are dim bulbs everywhere and obviously Canada is no exception but to have 40% of the US population buying into his bigoted nativist nonsense is pretty scary/shocking to me.

Must be some good editing.  I didn't watch it last night and instead read the transcripts so I could actually focus on what they said.

By my count, Hillary mentioned her "opponent" three times.  Trump mentioned Clinton seven times (and Obama ten times).

I would recommend people go and read the transcripts and look at the substance of the responses.  Very stark contrast between the two.

I'll defend this one. It's probably more like 36-37% supporting Trump, based on latest polling. The 36-37% fall into 3 categories, essentially:

  1. Will vote R no matter what (they don't buy into his nonsense per se)
  2. Lesser educated white males (they fit your description)
  3. Their wives (they may or may not fit your description)
So perhaps roughly 25% of the country is buying into the nonsense? A lot of people hate Hillary, somewhat justifiably so. But then there's the Lock Her Up crowd. That's the group generally buying into what you describe.

and how!
