My Prediction:  Not a single person that claimed political corruption was a major issue to them will care.

 
At some point, you have to think Trump will get as tired of Gingrich flapping his yap as the rest of us are.  Candidate Trump needed attention whore surrogates like Newt more than President Trump will.  And Newt needs Trump a lot more than either the candidate or President.

It's so crazy how many were predicting the demise of the Republican Party and it's the Dems that are in shambles.

 
Apparently Bernie and Liz Warren reached out to Trump on areas that they could work together. 

Ive got an open mind. If President Trump does a good job with the country and the economy, and doesn't end up trampling on our liberties, I will be pleasantly surprised and I will support his efforts. We'll see.

Agree. He's already backpedalling on Obamacare. As long as he doesn't ruin the economy and tramples on our freedoms ill survive and then hope 2020 is a much better candidate for the Dems.

What gets me is that it implies he's not interested in figuring out why they're protesting, determining if they have legitimate grievances, and, if so, what he could do to address them. They're all his constituents now.

In reading back on Donald Trump, I kept hearing him referred to as a "New York Democrat".  

Is there a distinction between this and your run-of-the-mill Democrat or say a San Francisco Democrat?   TIA

Yeah imagine having to show a valid ID like I have to do for any major transaction I am involved in. It is so difficult for people to do. 

Voter suppression is a fraud. There is NO reason to not have a legit photo ID.

You should have to make an effort if you want to vote. 

 
Did the "says who" guy make it into the administration? He should be the press secretary, like that sad sack on VEEP.

You may not remember SSND but that was one of the things we talked about before. Trump is policy fluid. He will negotiate with anyone, change anything and accept new information if it makes sense.

They didn't really. It was a backhanded attempt to sooth their constituents. I watched both and the tone was "We are going to work tirelessly to keep our agenda with President Trump, but if he gets out of line we will fight him to the death." So not so much.

They're all his constituents now. He's President for the whole country, not just the approximately 25% of the population that voted for him.

Besides that, ignoring them would be making the same exact mistake Clinton did by ignoring the distressed white middle/lower class parts of the country. Not a smart move if he wants to stay in office for a second term. I know some in here think he got some kind of irrefutable mandate, but that's not the case. He barely won against the worst candidate of all time.
