No, not quite. I didn’t get another ‘23, I just moved one of my picks from 10-12 down to a top 4.Is that classified as ABUSE? Nice work. Search and Destroy effort to get another Top 5 pick in 2023

My 2 cents Is that Samuel is just worth 1 of those 2 picks, not both.12 Team 1QB PPR (can start 5 WR) I am in year 2 of complete rebuild (currently have 5 picks in Top 20 for 2023)
I gave up 2.11 & 3.03
I got Wash WR Curtis Samuel
I had that sitting there for 5 days. They accepted it this morning .. I know Dotson was picked up. I had a chance to revoke the deal but felt it was worth it. I also know McLaurin is a UFA next year. He is not at voluntary workouts while contract extension discussion underway. Wash Cap # are an issue partly due to Wentz so if he has to wait after the season he will be more expensive. I think Wash won't be able to afford him. Just thinking potential ideas.
I think Dotson needs time to show he can contribute. Samuel is my buy low effort at it now.
So this was the equiv of giving up a Late 23 1st & mid/late 24 1st for a Top 4 pick.No, not quite. I didn’t get another ‘23, I just moved one of my picks from 10-12 down to a top 4.
Exactly. If one assumes that having 7 of the 1st 13 picks in 2023 will improve my team by 2024.So this was the equiv of giving up a Late 23 1st & mid/late 24 1st for a Top 4 pick.
So possible scenario example... 1.11 & 1.08 picks for 1.03?
Top 4 in 2023 is a valuable asset.
I like it. Though with 7x firsts already I may have been tempted to keep Dak. & build around him.Superflex league I am rebuilding in. Deep 40 man rosters.
Gave up: Prescott, 2023 3rd
Received: Fields, 2023 1st
I now have 8 2023 1sts, 4 2023 2nds, 2 2023 3rds. It's just a fun league that I went all in on 2023 for.
Thanks for the reply/opinion.I like it. Though with 7x firsts already I may have been tempted to keep Dak. & build around him.
that said, it’s fair, and if the Fields gamble pays off you’re still set up for a nice rebuild.
Maybe the other way. Basically he gave up a 1st rounder to move up 5 or 6 picks when he already has the top 4 picks anyway. Just not really sure what this gains him in the big picture. Is that classified as ABUSE? Nice work. Search and Destroy effort to get another Top 5 pick in 2023
But that’s incorrect. I didn’t have the top 4 picks anyway.Maybe the other way. Basically he gave up a 1st rounder to move up 5 or 6 picks when he already has the top 4 picks anyway. Just not really sure what this gains him in the big picture.
If the ‘23 2nd is likely to be early I like the return for DJ.12 team ppr QB-2RB-3WR-TE-FL

The team that the pick is from “earned” the 1.02 last season but his team is better than that on “paper”.If the ‘23 2nd is likely to be early I like the return for DJ.
I’m less optimistic than many about the future of that PIT offense with Trubisky/Pickett behind center.
Even if the ‘23 2nd is later I still like the deal for the team getting Fant+picks.
Easily DJ side for me. This is very light for him. I would give this package up in every league I am in.12 team ppr QB-2RB-3WR-TE-FL

Yeah, I’m ok with the deal. If I had Steelers receivers I’d be looking to move them too.The team that the pick is from “earned” the 1.02 last season but his team is better than that on “paper”.
Your making assumptions on the exact puck numbers. Educated assumptions sure but the pick you got may end up pick 5 or 6 instead of pick 2 or 3. The pick would gave up could be pick 9 or 10 instead of 11 or 12.But that’s incorrect. I didn’t have the top 4 picks anyway.
That was the gain.
This team was an usurper to that plan. They would have snuck in at 1, 2, or 3, foiling my ability to have the top 4 picks.
And your math is wonky. Moving from 1.11-1.12 to 1.02-1.03 = 5-6?
I’ll likely move up 8-10 picks. I paid a ‘24 1st to do it. It wasn’t a bargain but I don’t think I got robbed as you suggest.
the pick I traded has been in the LCG 3 straight years. His team is super stacked. It will be 10-12. It’s a very safe assumption.Your making assumptions on the exact puck numbers. Educated assumptions sure but the pick you got may end up pick 5 or 6 instead of pick 2 or 3. The pick would gave up could be pick 9 or 10 instead of 11 or 12.
i felt differently. In a SF league where I have only Z.Wilson, I felt I needed to land 2 QBs early. The only way to do that was to have 1-2. And I also need RB & WR.You gave up a 1st because you are trying to corner the early market. I don't think it's necessary to do that because of all the picks you already have. At this point you are just overpaying so you can say you have the top 5 picks but I don't think there is really any difference in the grand scheme having 4 of the top 5 vs the top 5.
Only the way you originally framed it as moving up 5 spots when in fact I’ll move up 8-10 spots. It’s a huge move up into a critical spot. It's an overpay by quite a bit.
It's not a fact that you move up that much. It's an educated assumption. You don't know the future.the pick I traded has been in the LCG 3 straight years. His team is super stacked. It will be 10-12. It’s a very safe assumption.

This wasn’t some ego or glamor driven move for bragging rights. There’s practical reasoning behind my decision.

It’s considered fair to a slight overpay according to 3 calcs I plugged it into using the variables of “2-3-4” and “9-10-11-12”. And even if it is the extreme end of 9 down to 4” & a small overpay, it gives me peace of mind to know I’ll be able to reload my team.
At the end of the day I’m happy with it.
true. But it’s also the most likely outcome here. It's not a fact that you move up that much. It's an educated assumption. You don't know the future.
I don’t disagree, but I don’t think it was the massive overpay you do.You can be happy with the deal and still made on overpay. They are not mutually exclusive.
Seems fair. I like the ‘23 1st , but AJB should have more time left than Evans. It’s hard to choose which side I’d want. so it’s probably fair. This happened today in my 10 Team 1QB PPR League:
Team A gives - AJBrown and Kareem Hunt
Team B gives - Mike Evans and 2023 1st and 2nd rounders
Team B finished in 7th place last year, and if he at least makes the playoffs this year, I like his side, I thought it was a pretty even trade. Team B usually gets the short end of most of his trades.
12 team ppr start Q/2RB/3WR/TE/Flex
Combo rookie/devy draft with max of 12 devy rostered
Gave: Carter/Toney/3.05/4.05
Got: 1.03
Reason: not sold on either of the players, gives me the 1.03 and 1.05 with good options (Burks, Wilson, London, Williams, Walker... or devy's like Henderson and JSN)
It's complicated. We get $50 a year but it rolls over and it is used for RFA/FA and trading. This is a contract league so when you draft a rookie they start on your DTS when you activate them you have to place a contract on the player. The entire team has a 50 year limit and cutting guys cost you years for that year. When you sign a FA during the year you have to give them a contract.1.05
btw 10$ out of what?
Why would anyone, in any situation, make that trade? Gross.Dez said:14 team PPR TE 1.5

I love JJ, but I’d take the Wilson/1.02 side here.Just went down in one of my leagues transitioning to super flex next year (I'm neither party)
Justin Jefferson 2.08 3.11
For
Zach Wilson, 1.02, 2.02, 3.02
Even going to SF I would rather have Jefferson over the 1.02 and the drop from 2.02 to 2.08 isn't significant.Just went down in one of my leagues transitioning to super flex next year (I'm neither party)

Wilson of no value?Even going to SF I would rather have Jefferson over the 1.02 and the drop from 2.02 to 2.08 isn't significant.
Wilson is now in prime position to show if he’ll have value. I’m not going to guarantee that he will, but don’t be surprised when he does. People forget he can run as well.Wilson of no value?
I just missed that in your math is all. Jefferson might not be worth 1.02, but he might be worth 1.02+Wilson in SF.We will see. I just like Jefferson more.
Oh I agree. I roster him in SF. In JU’s breakdown it seemed like ZWilson was ignored on one side.Wilson is now in prime position to show if he’ll have value. I’m not going to guarantee that he will, but don’t be surprised when he does. People forget he can run as well.
Carry on my wayward son.The other thread starter hasn’t visited since January so I made this amazingly bold move of starting a new thread.
Fair. All depends on one’s targets. If I am looking to get Walker, it’s a fair price to pay. If I’m wanting one of the WR, gimme that free 2nd rounder.1.02
