I don't play SF so I could be off on my perception... I like the Chase side by a good bit..

How I see the deal:
Tanny + 1.05 for Fields (basically even IMO)
Chase for CMC (Give me Chase, slightly)
Dillon for Claypool (Give me Dillon)
2.05 Bonus / Free / Overpay cost

This is admittedly my first SF league. I just picked up this orphan. In my 1QB dynasty league I have Chase and I love, love, love him and it would take a haul for me to move him there. In this league it still kills me to move him but I needed a QB. I’m not super high on Fields either, but Tannehill feels like he’s almost done to me.

I don’t value rookie picks as much as others and am notorious for moving off of them pretty quickly. At 1.05 I felt like it would be a choice of Richardson, Gibbs, or JSN to me. All fine options but I’d rather go with what I somewhat know (Fields) compared to what might be (Richardson). I never figure to end the season with anything less than a third place finish so I felt like this move helped me immensely for the upcoming season without crippling my future.

I appreciate your input and agree that I sent more value away than I received.

I like the deal for you in the context you made it in. I don’t know what you get at 1.12 that’s better than 2 of those 3 guys, and there’s still a chance Skyy Moore ascends.

I like 1.08 + Metcalf a lot more than 1.10 & London, but yeah - no timetable on Murray’s recovery concerns me, and that dude concerns me when fully healthy.

So I totally get it.

A friend in my 12-team SF blew up my texts yesterday asking why I’d pay 1.04 + 1.10, + Pacheco for Fields, and that he sees that as a “massive overpay”.

I saw it as a very slight overpay, by approximately Pacheco. Who I deemed expendable.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

At the end of the day ya got your man. I just hate that it cost you Chase. But I do think Claypool has a bit of upside.

I get your take here. I’m hoping that the trades work out for the both of us. Like I said, I like championships, and I think I’m closer than I was before. Truthfully I’m not that high on Pacheco being the long term answer in KC and I’m down on Sutton in DEN. I like Chiggy a lot actually but I do have Pitts and Engram at the position already. The 1.12 doesn’t mean much to me all things considered.

I have that second trade as the 1.12, then Okonkwo, who I like but isn't stopping anyone from acquiring Godwin, then Sutton who I think is about to wash out and is impossible to trade (so kudos on that), and Pacheco who I also think is wise to flip if possible (so kudos as well). Man, all the work over the last 2 seasons rebuilding, and today one of the top 3 teams announced he’s retiring from all FF sports.

So I hooked up my buddy with the opening and I have to admit I’m a little ticked. He walks into a top team, light on picks but loaded with assets (Hurts/Murray, like 10 decent RBs, 4 good TE, several solid WR)

And I look at my team and the work I’ve put in the last 2 years. It’s just not right. lol

As soon as he joins imma flood him with trade offers.

But it’s a much easier deal for 1.03 if you’re holding 1.04

Not everyone has the same tier breaks. It’s an often overlooked factor of trading - your trade partner might believe they’re essentially getting free assets for moving 1 spot down.

As opposed to trying to deal players or later picks, which can be much more difficult.

I got Dulcich, Gibson, Chark, Juwan Johnson, 4.01, 4.02, 4.07

Not planning on keeping either player here so in my mind I cleared a roster spot. I'm also well over 50% hit rate on 3rd and 4th round rookie selections over the years so I actually kind of love these picks that everyone hates. Kittle is getting older and has lots of comp for targets. I love Dulcich and I think Gibson is criminally undervalued right now. Just a depth RB at this point but a solid one IMO. @menobrown that's one less Claypool share.

Not planning on keeping either player here so in my mind I cleared a roster spot. I'm also well over 50% hit rate on 3rd and 4th round rookie selections over the years so I actually kind of love these picks that everyone hates. Kittle is getting older and has lots of comp for targets. I love Dulcich and I think Gibson is criminally undervalued right now. Just a depth RB at this point but a solid one IMO. @menobrown that's one less Claypool share.

More than anything it is that I think Kittle is overrated (for fantasy) as he heads into his 30yo season. But yes I'm pretty big on Dulcich in Sean Payton's pass friendly system. Even though I moved him the other day for Otton and 3.01 in a different spot. But the roster spot crunch is a really big factor here. Although I've gotten away from posting it, my value system for players and picks has this trade like this:

I gave Kittle, Carter, Claypool, 2024 3rd 28+9+11+5=53 franchise points (think super similarly to the Hindery system)
I got Dulcich, Gibson, Chark, Juwan Johnson, 4.01, 4.02, 4.07 21+18+3+3+3=47 but I also consider roster spots in FFPC to be worth ~7 points so=54 FPs

I am assuming FFPC based on the prior posts and the vets that were cutdown into the draft pool pushed those rookies down. But I was confused at first as well, 2020 in particular as Higgins was the 2.01 in most of my leagues.
