Gave: LaPorta
Got: 2024 2nd
I like all of your moves but this one.

I don’t see why one moves LaPorta for a 2nd when his value could easily jump with even 1 productive game. Dude hasn’t played a snap yet.

Everything else made sense to me. This one stood out as being a little counterproductive.
FFPC - roster spot cleared one month prior to season. Also - if LaPorta doesn't explode out of the gate he becomes a roster clogger. A 2nd is usually the sweet spot for these.

I assume you drafted LaPorta in the 2nd (unless you traded for him) If you drafted him why even bother then ?

I think it was @BigAl21 trade - @barackdhouse was opining.

Statement still applies whoever drafted LaPorta in round 2 only to turn around 3 months later and trade him for a 2nd why bother

Yep, thus my original post. :)

I drafted him at 2.04 or 2.05 after trying to move off the pick prior to the draft, during the draft, and even on the clock with no takers. This off season I realized my team is non competitive compared to some other league thumpers so I’ve torn it mostly all down this off season. The main goal accumulating as many picks and opening as many roster spots as possible. Now my team has a direction this off season instead of middling.

Well first of all it wasn't my trade and I tend to agree - if I drafted him there I typically want to at least see what happens before moving. But I don't mind breaking even on draft capital if I need to clear a spot before cutdowns. Rookie TEs aren't my favorite targets to begin with. In the 2nd round I was much more likely to take a RB. But a one-for-one trade like this after drafting for a 2nd and then getting a 2nd back doesn't bother me. It may be that they didn't like the board when they were OTC and took LaPorta begrudgingly. I try to avoid making those kinds of picks but it happens from time to time.

In FFPC I tend to be strong at TE already and I typically already have a couple waiting in the wings on my roster.

Sent: DeVonta Smith
Received: Khalil Herbert, Javonte Williams and Michael Pittman
Probably got the better value, but it’s hard to see any of those 3 replacing Smith’s production.

*whispers* then it’s not the better value lol
Depends. In this case it’s a $.50 piece, and 2 quarters, compared to Smith’s $.80 value.

No need to whisper. It ain’t a secret. I’m just saying. I could see it working out IF Pittman is decent and one of the RBs establishes themselves as a RB2.

But the overall package is fair for Smith.

Not every deal is black and white. Nuance is a thing.

Just joking my dude.

I do have Smiddy here by a solid margin though.

I could see a team desperately needing a RB taking the Pittman side, but I agree.

FFPC TriFlex - you must start 3 WR, which is a bit of a departure from typical FFPC, and you can start as many as 6

I gave Pitts, Knox
I got Nico Collins, Gabe Davis, Greg Dulcich, Cole Kmet, 2024 1st & 2nd*

*I don't think their team is as good as they think and this has a shot at being 1.01/2.01.

Nico and Gabe are now my WR5 and WR6. I broke up my Ridder/London/Pitts stack but I like this price. Knox was going to be a cut of mine.

I’d rather have Pitts. You didn’t get nearly enough for wat you probably gave up for Pitts.

12 team PPR, 1 QB.

Gave: Spears, Singletary, Downs, (3) 2024 2nds, (1) 2024 3rd

Received: Prescott, Kittle, S. Shepard

My WR and RB groups are ready to compete. I wanted to bring in a QB and TE that could help me this year to possibly make me competitive for a title.
Good move for “Win Now” effort
Not sure you paid enuf other than the 3x 2nds but well done.

12 team SF TEP PPR

Gave: K Walker III, 2024 early/mid 2nd, 2024 mid/late 2nd
Received: DeVonta Smith
For starters, I don’t do SF, but no QB involved here
I prefer Walker even without the 2x2nds.
But it really depends on roster construction & need.
If I needed WR and had surplus RB, I can see this deal

Fair. I've been looking for a young, high end WR2 with WR1 upside. With the recent trade bringing in Rhamandre, I thought Walker was tradeable. I also am not sure I care for Walker's situation in the mid-long term.

Fair deal…I see what both teams are doing…I would go with Devonta because I build my teams around the WR position…he is very good and in a great situation and I think he will remain at a high level for quite some time…Walker is a quality piece to give up but with Charbonet onboard there is some murkiness and while two 2’s are legit assets they are not much to add in if you feel strongly about a good, young player…which I do with Smith.

Exactly my head state. This has been a literal from the ground up rebuild. My timeline was to contend by 2024/2025, but with some luck, I may be in the fold this season. Roster currently is
QB - Fields/Pickett/Mayfield
RB - Bijan/Rhamondre/K Hunt
WR - D Smith, JSN, Mooney, N Collins, MVS, Osborn, Gallup, Dunverny, Wan'Dale and a bunch of dart throws (Hyatt, Nacua, Mingo...)
TE - Hockenson, Aiken, Tonyan

Probably not top tier in the league, but definitely heading in the right direction given the lack of assets this orphan team had.

Looking at this I like the deal even more…if JSN hits you have 2 good young WRs to build your WR corps around…if you catch a break and either Mingo or Hyatt hit that would be a huge addition.

Great move. Going to sound crazy but Dulcich has a similar upside to Pitts this year if you ask me. Getting a 1st and 2nd plus Gabe Davis spike weeks is more than enough to bridge and value gap to me. Those picks are extremely valuable if they are one of those fake good teams that can win the loser bracket. Love it.

16 team, start 11, SF. Tiered PPR - WR=1.25, TE=2

Gave: Pitts
Got: AJ Brown

Boy, that's a TE premium to give up, huh?

I don't have much to say about it. It's a pick 'em and whichever you prefer. I prefer Pitts in that format, but it's even. Pitts has London and Robinson to worry about for touches, so I can totally see it. A.J. Brown might not be the best route runner on his own team, though, and that gives a little pause.

I'd love to see the point spread between TE1, TE6, and TE12 in that league. I can imagine it's completely bonkers.

14 team .. no ppr

Kyler Murray (Max Jones is his other qb and Khalil Herbert his best RB)

for

Goff and Aaron Jones (Owner has Mahomes and plenty of other RBs)

Your post asking about the 1,6 and 12 scoring Tes got me thinking about our bonkers scoring Te league. TE scoring: 1.5 ppr 1 pt per 5 yards, distance scoring. 1-9 yards 10 pts 10-19 yards 20, 20-39 30, 40+ yards 40 pts. 1. Kelce 618 36.35
6. Goedert 269.5 22.46
12. Kmet 322. 18.94

I did a similar review in my TE P PPR (Weeks 1-14 with at least 10 games)

TE 1 = Kelce 19.0 pt avg
TE 6 = Freiermuth 10.5
TE 12 = Conklin 7.8

Goedert was TE3 at 12.4 but only 9 games
Kmet was TE16

Interesting that Kelce is even more dominant in your leagues format.

Total points
TE1 - Kelce - 440 points

TE12 - Kmet - 201.8

PPG average
TE1 - Kelce - 25.9
TE6 - Ertz - 16.7
TE12 - Waller - 12.9

You must really not believe in Pitts then.
I’m cautiously optimistic in Pitts. But in my keep 14 league I did trade: Ryan Tannehill, Mike Gesicki, 1.09, 1.16, a 2024 1st (mid to late), 5.02, 7.13, and a 2024 6th. For:

Derek Carr, Jameis Winston, Kyle Pitts, 2.07, 2.16, 9.13 and a 2024 11th.

I’m still not good with quoting and posting. I don’t have A.J. Brown but in our format I definitely like Pitts’ potential over A.J.

Oh, ****. I had you confused with the guy that made the trade. zaner made the trade. I'm talking to Trent. Sorry about that. That's my bad. I confused you two.
