I LOVE Jeudy, but like the Etienne side here.

That's how I feel honestly. But I have Hill, Nuk, McLaurin, Evans, and MT in this league, and figured I'm more likely to get a good WR with my 1.5 rookie pick than RB, to help offset moving Jeudy.

I just traded for Metcalf, so I hate this deal for the 2023 side. We don't know for sure how good the late guys in 2023 are going to be. We know about several running backs and wideouts, but how deep does it go? At least with my knowledge that's what I know. Perhaps others are more privy. But this feels light.

Hall is an elite prospect athletically. 

Yeah - I think by the end of 2022 that could look like a poo poo platter for the 1.01. 

Jones is losing carries to Dillon. Hunt is a part time player and is aging quicker than we realize. I'm just not sure those parts really add much more than depth while the 1.01 could be another "Najeeh Harris season" if Hall lands in a good spot.

I have a pretty solid team but thin at RB. Hunt is a backup, Jones is devolving into a time share. That's why I'm hesitant to do it. I like Hall alot.

If you are thin at RB you should probably just take the good looking 21 year old rookie RB rather than a collection of spare parts

Preference to the DK side, IMO.  Even with a stacked 2023 class, it's unlikely that there will be anyone with DKs talent level.

Also, how bad does it suck to finish 2nd 3 years in a row?

Yeah if you're a contender then Hunt and Jones shouldn't be the ones putting you over the top. You should be able to weather their loss. 1.01 is a really good way to do that.

Lisfranc injuries that require surgery are tricky, unlike most other injuries.  It ranks right up there with a torn Achilles, maybe worse in some cases.  Either way, both are bad for running backs.  A torn ACL probably ranks 3rd because of medical advancement, but even players with those don't do well their first year back most of the time.

I got Bell and Julio as young players who came out fine. Santonio Holmes who was older and I heard did not attack rehab overly aggressively is only one I can think of whose career it seemed to derail.

So safe to say I don't share the lisfranf concerns some are espousing around here but I'm open to hearing examples of young players whose careers it ruined in modern times.

If it was assured top 3 in 2023 I would be tempted.  I know people are down on Jones, but I expect a big year from him in 2021 and getting Hunt and the 1.12 makes me think that group over the 1.01 in 2022, which will be Breece Hall in most cases.

His ‘21 was ok. His ‘22 might not be as good, as AJD works into more touches on what might be a slightly depressed offseason. 

I think Hall is the best piece in this deal for future purposes.

You could talk yourself into this would make you better in 2022 and maybe even have a shot to be better in 2023. Add a solid pick 12 and late third flier on top of it but I would not consider this at all.

Take the shot on Hall, he won't turn 21 until end of May, if he hits you can get 3-4 years out of him and when he's 24/25 move him for more then you are getting back in this trade.

I'd go Metcalf because of age and to get into the 23 draft. I think the late 2023 1st should be considered worth more than the 1.09, so it is eating into a little of the price of Diggs (so is the 4.09 a skosh). Metcalf should be much more expensive than Diggs so I guess it really is not that close. I can see preferring Diggs over Metcalf to win now though.

I can see the argument for taking a flyer on these guys, but I think AJG is about done, and I’m not sure what’s going to happen to Laviska Shenault.

This was a "run to the accept button but pause take a breath and see who I have to cut to make room first" trade. And the answer is a choice between K Herbert or MVS.

Good question and I wanted to look before replying and glad I did as I thought Bell had surgery but just Julio.

I also came upon a study when I googled NFL players Lisfranc recovery but that study was just players who had a Lisfranc injury. It was highly encouraging especially since it deal with players from 2000-2010 and showed 26 out of 28 players who had a lisfranc injury returned on average in 11.5 months with no statistical dropoff. 2 of course did not. But that is injury not surgery.

But point still stands I'm not seeing much evidence of this being a career killer and especially not seeing it being especially impactful to RB's.

And lastly we do have some updated info on Etienne which IMO increases his odds. He's a clear cut half a year away from surgery, Baalke is saying he's ahead of schedule and two months ago ETN said he was 80-85% and had been running for awhile.

Of course it's possible it's bad for him, I can even think of players in last few years that ACL injuries, which we take for granted as healing most of the time, have ruined players careers or made them IMO a step slower.  Just failing to see a lot of reason for some of the doom and gloom outlook I'm seeing about his recovery.

Considering all the chatter about how good he looked in the offseason (I know I know there is tons of BS soundbites that drive narratives and who knows what is coachspeak etc) - and further considering how absolutely ####### batty the Urban Meyer "era" was, I have to consider it in the range of possibilities that Viska was underused or misevaluated, whatever. IDK if that is true in the slightest. But yeah for a penny.

I'd say not even close.  I could see it maybe if you were a big believer in one of the WRs that goes to GB or KC and drops in the draft but you don't know that here.  No way I make this deal as the RB I got back would have to be way better than one of those 2.

Ha I just realized I have that guy's 2023 1st. I remember thinking he got a really good deal for McLaurin recently and that it would help his chances to make the pick that I hold better. But after shipping him away I think this clearly makes it worse unless 1.11 hits > McLaurin. It could. I'll take Terry by a lot.

Oof. That's way too much. Way, way too much. You only need one RB. Find one for a reasonable price. Breece Hall is going to take some time, assuming that's the way he's going.

I guess if you want to control the draft board it makes some sense, but other than that, giving up a two firsts and Hill? No bueno.

This is a tough spot with limited rosters, but I don't like this trade for you value-wise. Toney might be slightly ahead of both, but I think Kmet is going to start being a TE1 this year.
