No its a full dynasty league but we have contracts and you can franchise 1 player per year when their contract runs out and get a 1 year contract.

Also people want to win usually in startups so they rather buy the already producing piece. Last year you could get guys like Wilson and Olave in the 5th or 6th rounds of a startup and they are now going in the late 1st/early 2nd. People want instant production they don't want to wait unless they are getting a sure thing. (most people)

I don't know if I'd do that literally, but it'd be close. I'd hope for a higher return from the 1.04 no matter how I felt about this draft. I think there are going to be running backs going in the second that weigh over 200 lbs. That's a valuable asset right there if you don't like the small receivers or Johnson.

I agree about the 1.4 > Jeudy, so perhaps the #46 pick should have been the 1.4 instead of Jeudy. However, I believe the 1.13 is such as crapshoot I'd rather have Jeudy. Thus the reason why getting the 1.13 and some random 3rd for Jeudy was light IIMO.

Personally, I don't chime in on SF anymore and have said that. I think I did once when the person asked for specific help on an urgent trade. That was Hot Sauce Guy over the past few weeks. I also play SF redraft, so the lines are blurred and a bit muddy. Maybe they aren't. But I know how valuable QBs are in the format, just not how valuable they are to specific leagues.

That said, you could really say that posting trades isn't productive if you play in specific formats that are different from the standard leagues. FFPC is wildly different than Zealots. Trades are incomparable even with QBs constant in those leagues because of roster sizes and requirements. It's just the way it is.

Yet we try our best anyway. if you want specific, SF-influenced FFPC advice, you'd best stick to the format if that's all you really play. What you have here are amateur experts surfing their way through it and groping in the dark when we assess trades.

That's really the truth. But it helps to get a generalized value of guys. Perhaps SF flexes QBs to such a degree that one can't possibly comment one way or the other.

I know this isn't about me, but as far as Jeudy goes, I was chiming in about a league I assumed wasn't SF. I think we need to figure out what should be assumed and what shouldn't be. I think SF should be specified and 1QB still default.

This was in The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test by Tom Wolfe, by the way. Kesey and the Merry Pranksters decided that "I'm no ____, but this is what I think" was the most awfulest thing ever. When in reality, there's wisdom to often be gleaned from people with at least some personal experience or layperson's opinions. Doesn't make those opinions dispositive, but can be useful. It's all in the weight you give it. And that's on the listener.

I don't play SF and I am not trying to learn about it because I think it way over values QB's. I also never comment on SF trades they don't insterest me at all.
Imagine in 2021 rookie draft taking Lance over Chase because that is what everyone was doing in SF and just like this year you are "wrong" to not take a QB at the 1.02, 1.03, 1.04 in SF (Every mock I watch now is freaking SF so I have to hear it over and over). Imagine taking Zach Wilson over "insert anyone" in 2021 in the mid 1st.

I think it asburd to watch a mock SF startup and see 9 QBs go in the 1st round and another 6 in the 2nd round. My other dynasty league -- besides the Zealots one I'm in -- awards one point for every ten yards thrown and adds and subtracts points for completion percentage. It's a six point TD passing league. Quarterbacks can and do win games on passing alone. It's the best scoring system I've seen yet. Each yard gained by anybody else is .2 per and touchdowns are still worth six points, so it makes the yardage/touchdown weight less about luck and more about yards gained.

It's an all-offense league, so it's different than Zealots. I get both an iDP league and a league that puts a premium on what correlates most to scoring in the NFL. It's a nice two leagues to be in.

Interesting to me not anyone else I am sure but I tried to trade this same guy for Mahomes in another league he wanted the same deal 3 1st round picks (would been 7,9 and future 1st) and I told him that was too much for Mahomes and he responded saying how can I not trade him the same deal for a better player in Mahomes then the 1.01 and that I overpaid him for the 1.01.
I guess I should offered him less for the 1.01 he jumped on that so fast maybe I could got away with giving 1.05, 1.13 and 2.09 instead of that future 1st.
Also interesting he values Mahomes more than Bijan I told him he was the only one.

With a RB it’s substantially less.

So a lot of how folks will value Bijan’s Vs Mahomes has to do with short Vs long term approach. I could see substantial variance depending on owner’s mindset.

Yep. Especially in leagues where QBs score a little more or are worth more relatively. It's funny. I've become convinced really early picks are better spent on receivers in dynasty, even. Maybe that's just because I landed Chase and never looked back even once at the other guys that year. But it just seems that more of the hero or zero RB approach is the way to go rather than trying to build a room. Too injured, too often.

I don't know. Something I'm mulling this year, though this year seems to be a bad year to put that into practice. (I don't have early picks anyway.)

Except in contract leagues where Mahomes would have 4 years left on his contract which is the case in this situation. I can put 7 or 8 years on Bijan.
