Don’t think I’ve ever seen a “conditional” draft pick trade in dynasty. Didn’t know it was a thing but I guess if it’s in the league rules.
how do you handle the mechanics of it, though? Trade Evans for a 1st now and if he doesn’t make the playoffs, trade the 1st for the 2nd? And I assume this kind of trade is posted/advertised for the whole league to know about this deal?

The team giving up all the players is the commissioner. The other team is 7-6 and tied with me and two other teams for the last two playoff spots.

I have made quite of few of these in the past. Usually I will put an option to swap first rounders which has benefited me numerous times.

Correct. The official trade was Evans for a 1st. Team can not trade that 2nd then in case they do not make the playoffs and then they just swap the 1st for the 2nd.

Our rules specifically state "Conditional Trades / Picks" are not permitted.
So, this is a little odd for me too

Our league has been around for 30 + years and we haven't had too many conditional trades that I recall. I am all for it.

12 team SF league, start 1Q, 2R, 2W, 1T, 1PK, 1DST, 1SF, 3F . Unusual playoff format -- after week 11, we start a round robin playoff. So every week after week 11 is a playoff week, which creates challenges for teams with byes after week 11.

Prior to this trade, I had (and still have) a huge week 14 bye week challenge (9 of 24 players on bye, including 3 starting RBs, starting TE, starting PK). Team B had a major week 12 bye challenge. So this was partially motivated to help both teams with those challenges.

That's a steal...you just added one of the premiere fantasy assets in week 11 without touching the meat of your roster and only giving up one #1...this is not a good trade for the other guy and I don't understand what he is thinking...to hold on to Cmac this long, wait till he gets healthy then dealing him for this package makes zero sense...Burton is a non-entity to me...Sinnott is a prospect but would not even be on my radar if I am dealing a player like Cmac...reading what you wrote makes it sound like your #1 won't even be that high...the fact you also received a #3 is pretty much a misdemeanor offense.

Hit accept instantly. I’m 17-3 ( we do double headers against league median ) with a glaring hole at TE where I was starting Schultz. I had been looking at this guys roster last day or so trying to work out how to get Njoku and Tracy, then half presented itself without me doing anything. Penix I took at 4.05 in the draft love taking these late QBs in 1QB rookie drafts, they always hold name value and can be used at a later date unless they totally totally bomb out.

I suspect Jones will get another chance to start in 25 or 26. It may not work out, but I thought he looked really good his rookie year with the Patriots. If he can get his head right, and by all accounts he is in JAX, he could potentially have a solid career going forward. Especially, in 16 team SF leagues. I'd make that dart throw every single time.

Made two small trades in different leagues yesterday. Both are 12 team SF.
#1: Gave Aaron Rodgers for 2025 2nd (should be mid). Other guy lost Lawrence and Flacco and has Baker on bye so he was truly QB-less this week and is fighting for a WC spot.
#2: Gave 2025 2nd (back half) for Darnold. I lost Dak and my only other viable SF options were Minshew or WR/RB.

He was my first pick in our dynasty league startup in 2021 but he never quite performed at that level although he alway had a decent floor due to the volume of carries he gets. I'm happy to get a decent TE and a 2nd round pick and a throw in for him. Although I guess that next year he will be signing with another team and getting a fresh start.

Even though they didn’t pick up Harris’ 5th year option they could still resign him. They rely on him quite a bit, so I don’t see how a fresh start puts him in a better position.

Another stupid trade from 1 of my huddle leagues where I have seen multiple trades in the past few weeks where teams trade away guys on IR for currently highly productive players.
Obviously smart trades for the guys giving away the IR players in most cases but it is amazing to me how teams continue to trade with the couple of teams that continue to make these offers and they actually accept them

Good deal for both teams...you're not gonna get more than that and the teams willing to deal a #1 for Deebo is probably limited...agreed that the #1 will be a better trade asset in the offseason...if you're a contender Deebo is worth a late #1.
