lolUm, Was that dude playing a xylophone?
Oni has a vibraphone player. It's a vibe synth, so he's basically a keyboard player. I know there's nothing metal about vibes, but they sure pull it off.

Highly Suspect is a weird for me. Really like a lot of their songs, find them very annoying live. Definitely on the edge of heavy since Alt Nation has started playing them recently.Might not be "metal" - but it all rocks....check 'em out

Scientists have named a prehistoric crocodile described as “one of the nastiest sea creatures to have ever inhabited the earth” after late Motorheadfrontman and British heavy metal icon Lemmy Kilmister.
London’s Natural History Museum says the fossil of what’s now known as Lemmysuchus obtusidens was dug up in England in the early 20th century but was incorrectly categorized with other sea crocodiles found in the area.
Researchers recently took another look at the specimen and gave it a new classification and a scientific name of its own.
The fossil is housed at the museum. Curator Lorna Steel suggested it be named after Kilmister, who died in 2015. She says in a statement that “we’d like to think that he would have raised a glass to Lemmysuchus.”

Nice to see Candlemass getting a mention. I used to love those guys!
Never heard of them before. Will have to look them up. St. Vitus was another cool doom band. Loved the album Born Too Late....and Sunn O)))![]()

They play fine, I just got annoyed hearing the front man talk about ####### women and various women in the crowd between every song. Not a good live act?? I really don't goto shows anymore anyway.....
The puns were funny the first dozen times
Not only is that guy a tool, but the overabundance of (some butchered) Metallica song titles peppered throughout the story made it almost unreadable.
I can dig it!jdoggydogg said:
Cool. You're creating a band?I can dig it!![]()
A lot of times, that's all I want to hear. Just a wall of sound that makes great background music. I mentioned it earlier in the thread when I brought up Deafheaven. Bands that are just noise or shoegazing bands as I learned they are called sometimes. It's a sub-genre that's been around a long time as I think back to bands like Pink Floyd, King Crimson and even ELP, up through Voivod, Godflesh, My Bloody Valentine and newer bands like Pelican. Good stuff! Will def look into them some more.![]()
I'm actually working on some stuff, very slowly as time permits, that is somewhat similar. Just for fun and to let out some creativity. It works for me since I can't play any instruments...lol

I can spot my brother in the Wherever I Man Roam video - he was a college hockey player at the time, and a big dude. The lights hit and he rushed from the back of the stadium right up to the edge of the stage. I was small and unable to stick with him in the throng - I ended up on the edges. Some random chick is sitting on his shoulders and he has a white hat on backward in the video.Oh, I had pre-show beers too. In fact, I had 2 vodka & Red Bulls on the drive from my house to Orlando, then hit 2 bars downtown between 2-6 for 3 more V&RBs and about 6-7 beers before another 10-12 pints at the show. It was a long day and a painful Thursday.
That's an awesome story. I would have been geeked beyond recognition. Although I am not the biggest Metallica fan alive now, back in the 80s/90s, I might have been. I saw them over 20 times on the Justice & Black Album tours alone. This was my first time seeing them since 2000, though. Happy to see they (like Maiden) haven't lost their fastball.
Cool story, I'll have to look for him if I see that video again.I can spot my brother in the Wherever I Man Roam video - he was a college hockey player at the time, and a big dude. That was my second concert ever... amazing stuff. If there was an opening act, I don't remember it. That was in Anchorage, AK.
My 13 yo boy just walked past while I was watching the video of Slayer on the Tonight Show and asked what it was. I told him about Slayer, and he replied that he knew what Slayer was, but wanted to know what the Tonight Show was. Good boy. That Slayer performance on Fallon was awesome!

Nice! I wish they were coming our way on this tour, but they are not. I did see them last year when they toured for just The Astonishing and it was great.Going to see Dream Theater, Nov 28th.![]()

That's pretty sweet. Not to bragI have never seen them live. They dont make it to NC very much. My brother got me a front row balcony seat!
, but I have seen them eight times. Sadly, I never saw them with Kevin Moore, but I saw the lineup with Sherinian once, the 1999-2010 lineup four times (twice on the Metropolis: 2000 tour) and the Mangini lineup now three times.
I wonder what it was like to end up at that concert where they played an entire concert, then came out for the encore and played the entire Master of Puppets album out of the blue.Going to see Dream Theater, Nov 28th.![]()
They are monster musicians. They make Yes sound like The Mentors.shifty said:Going to see Dream Theater, Nov 28th.![]()
Great Guitar Hero song."Pull Me Under" blew my mind when I first heard it. Felt like Rush and Whitesnake had a baby.
Well my friend is stage diving in Pearl Jam's Evenflow....how bout dat?My buddy is stage-diving in Primus' video for Jerry Was a Race Car Driver.
Guitar Hero is funny. I can play songs (like Rush's YYZ) reasonably well on a real guitar, but they seem harder on Guitar Hero.Great Guitar Hero song.
Wow at playing YYZ. Love that song.Guitar Hero is funny. I can play songs (like Rush's YYZ) reasonably well on a real guitar, but they seem harder on Guitar Hero.
