seriously? Because the stuff you said crossed the line of funny and schtick and went into the territory of things you never, ever, ever, ever say to someone... Movie or not it wasn't funny. Neither was the "skank" (IIRC) comment that appeared to start all this awhile back in some other thread. If that's not where it started or the whole story or whatever, that's fine. I can't imagine a scenario that would change my opinion here though.

The skank comment was in response to something but it was over the line. I apologized the next day. Then kept my mouth shut for some time. Then a bad day made me open it again.

I would say frankly that doesnt even matter.Call me old fashioned, but IMO there should be a double standard.

I heard some great closers last weekend in Montreal. The guy that got married is/was a big time player and a lot of his friends are too, I felt like a kid at PUA camp.

Anyway it sounds so simple yet it is so effective. When you are at a bar with a girl and things feel like they are clicking, you have her attention and you can tell she is interested, you just tell her, "let's get out of here." If she agrees you get in a cab and tell the cab driver the address of your apartment. Of course this won't always work, but it is worth the shot for the times it does.

Another guy had a different twist on it. He would be at a bar as it was closing with his buddies and they would ask all the hot girls that weren't attached at the hip with another guy if they were going to Club 71 afterwards. Most of them would say yes having no clue where that was and the guys would lead them to one of their buddies apartments which they nicknamed Club 71 - BRILLIANT.

One piece of advice they kept trying to jam down my throat was to buy women drinks, I was adamantly opposed to it, but finally gave in and bought these two girls a drink, then immediately after getting their drinks they are talking amongst themselves about going to a club - thanks for proving my point and emptying some cash out of my wallet. Buying girls drinks is a loser move as an opener or in the early goings - it is fine once things progress but you will end up shelling out way too much cash and not see that ROI.

Let's them know he is interested and willing to cater to them. If they like him initially they'll say yes and give him a chance throughout the duration they drink the drink. They then looked at me funny when I said I thought it gives the girl too much power right away and suggests the guy lacks confidence that he's good enough to talk to them without using a drink as bribe.

I talked to two girls about this over the weekend. Both attractive, put together girls (never dated Woz). They said they like it when the guy buys them a drink. Let's them know he is interested and willing to cater to them. If they like him initially they'll say yes and give him a chance throughout the duration they drink the drink. They then looked at me funny when I said I thought it gives the girl too much power right away and suggests the guy lacks confidence that he's good enough to talk to them without using a drink as bribe.

In fact, someone (I thought it was you or springroll, in fact) asked him if he was drunk when he said that, and he said no, he was in a boring class and killing time, not drunk at all. And so, in fact, from there on I ignored him. Then I had to read all these stupid childish posts about how I was acting like "all girls" in ignoring him because I was mad at him. NEWSFLASH: Not ignoring him because I'm mad--in fact, ignoring him because I simply couldn't care less and any person that acts like that doesn't warrant any of my time or energy.So it doesn't work simply to ignore Woz, as then he'll post about how I'm ignoring him and he'll PM me with such compelling questions as "You OK?", implying that if I'm not hanging on his every word I am not OK.Jumping forward, I responded to a Woz post in the same way that every other person on here would, but as numerous people have already pointed out, I get treated differently. Any experience with girls who will just be town for a week?

Chick from Southern California sent a few messages. Apparently her dad lives in a town about 20 miles east of me (I'm already 20 miles east of Dallas, so we're talking BFE here). She's going to be making this trip fairly often (first trip a week from today) and is looking for people to hang out with while she's there.

This sounds like a good "no strings" type of situation to me. I'm just not real clear on if she's simply looking for Texas friends to get her out of the house or if she wants to hook up.

Probably just looking for something, not someone, to do while she's in town, but worth going out once to see.

Depends on the girl, but if she was looking for a new friend to hang out with why not choose a girl? Since she chose a guy, what was it about Stu that helped her make that decision? I bet she asked herself if she would do him. I know guys work this way, so maybe women are different, but I don't think they are that much different.

Don't know where you jumped to those conclusions, given I didn't say any of that and in fact only commented that the idea that men and women aren't that different was completely laughable. If a girl is going to be in a town, several times over the course of months, where she doesn't know people, she might want people to hang out with, who might give her some attention and be fun. A guy who's better looking is also going to be given a better shot of being the person to hang with. Doesn't mean at all that she wants the secks. Most girls, without doubt, do not think that way. Also doesn't mean that she might not at some point dig him enough to want to have the secks with him, too, which is why I told him he'd might as well check it out. But your chances of the girl turning out to be just looking for some one-night stands are infinitely less than the chances that she is either (1) just looking to hang out, with more or less openness about where it might lead or (2) worse, open to starting a long-distance relationship.

No, I have never perused a dating site for anywhere where I was going to be on a trip. And it seems to me that "exactly what Stu is thinking" is more in line with what I've described. He doesn't seem to think that she's likely to want NSA sex, though he is hopeful.

This girl has been in town since Thursday, but I haven't called. Just haven't had a free night. Maybe next trip...
