Dated a girl a couple of years ago, and we have kept in touch since as "friends". We text regularly and have gotten together a few times since, again as "friends".

A few weeks ago we both had a free weekend, so I mentioned getting a hotel room, and was shot down. This weekend we both have free again so we are working on getting together. My last reply was, "I am up for anything as long as it ends with sex." Her reply was "typical guy response."

Bottom line is, once a girl views you as a "friend" then it more or less means she's lost physical attraction to you and very hard to get out of that. We "broke up" because she got all emotional because things were going too well, and that she always messes stuff up. She's a woman. I really didn't want to deal with the drama, so gave her all kinds of space. We didn't communicate at all for about 6 months. Also distance is somewhat of an issue, and it's hard to have weeknight dates. Both of us have kids so it was an every-other weekend thing. Maybe she wanted more.

The physical attraction is not a problem. Not trying to brag, but she's told me a couple of times that it was the "best sex ever". We still joke about that and I have not problem getting her fired up.

I'm just wondering if you're not pushing the sexual envelope enough while actually in person with her these days. - Anytime she says the word "friend": Keep thinking I'm your friend, cuz I'm not. Friends don't have the chemistry we have and want to F the ish out of each other. I'm not interested in just being your friend.

She's gotten too comfortable with you and has placed you into the same bucket as all of her other lap dogs. She needs to start seeing you in a different light once again. Don't let her get away with calling you a friend anymore....consider that word to now be equal to giving you the middle finger and her internally laughing. From this point forward you address it and shut it down, and when you are together you should push the envelope on sexual innuendos and flirting with her. She'll either cut you out of her life or start accepting the sexual advances...both of which are better than living in friend zone purgatory and wasting your time on her.

Over the weekend, I celebrated one year seeing a woman I met on OKCupid. It has been going great. I was searching for the very limiting factors of a woman who doesn't want kids and isn't religious. I think the state of online dating today makes it a great time to be out there looking. Whatever you want is out there, you just have to put your best self forward and you'll find it. Hooking up is easy. I wish online dating was so commonplace and accepted when I was younger. Finding young women who want an experienced guy is easy. And if you have very specific qualities or shared life choices you're looking for in a long-term mate, it's a life-changing tool. Before online dating, I never dated a woman who agreed with me about not having kids. I dated offline for 16 years and, while I had my share of accompaniment from attractive and fun women, I never met anyone whose personality meshed as well with mine, who fit as many characteristics I wanted in a long-term mate, who aligned with my lifestyle and life plans, as well as I did in three months dating online.

For those looking long term, I don't believe in "the one," but I knew this was different from the very first date. We clicked amazingly from the first moment.
