Looks like there hasn't been much action in here the past couple of days. Sorry, Woz, I hope I didn't scare you off with my bout of frustration. I'm over it. Went to the Cubs game today with an ex-boyfriend and I told him I was looking over a bunch of guys' profiles on here...he said "You'd be good at that." Got to talking about how fun it would be to start my own dating service, but I need a hook...something new that would distinguish it from others. Any ideas?

This was a work incident. A victim and his buddies on a case of mine tried to jump me behind a bar where they are regulars. That bar is on the walk home. I'm not walking by there both alone and somewhat intoxicated.

Update: First in regards to the idating, looks like I definitely have a date setup with the hot chick on match.com the next chance I can go to the cities. Also may have one this Tuesday with a cute blonde pharmacist who just moved to town. We'll see though, I'm getting pretty discouraged though and here's why...Thought after sending rude drunk text on Tuesday she'd leave me alone. I thought wrong. On my way to baseball practice yesterday, expecting a call, I answer my phone without looking at who it is. It's her. Wants to go to happy hour. I tell her I obviously can't, but then she mentions she heard through her sister at lunch (every Friday the lawyers in my office get together for lunch) that I mentioned I only had ball that night. Great. With no time to think of anything I get her off the phone by telling her I'd call later. Call after practice and lifting with the intent of saying I wasn't feeling good because of the heat from practice and lifting (BS - but I'm bad at lying), but she says she is babysitting anyways right away and has been drinking so I basically tell her oh well and say I had made plans with my roommates to go out so it's not a big deal anyways. Head out to the bar with my roommates for a few drinks. After about two hours there I get a phone call and head to the bar lobby to take it so I can hear. As I'm talking I all of a sudden glance up and this chick is standing right there! I'm pretty much and look at her like wtf? Not knowing what to do I point to my phone. She then proceeds to go out and hit on the bouncer while I finish my phone call. I'm kinda freaked out. I see bouncer take her up to the bar so I think I'm all right. I fininsh my call and head back upstairs to grab my friends. Unfortunately she's sitting next to them - talking to some other dudes. I tell my buddies we have to go. However, she sees us, breaks her convo, then proceeds to tag along to the next two bars. She then tells my one roommate's gf that she's there with me - making it nice and ####### awkward. I push to leave ASAP but my buddies are too drunk and having too much fun making fun of her. I'm too drunk (god bless having half the bar staff at every bar as your clients) and had a prior incident which forbade me from walking home alone. Finally, at bar close, we head home and she miraculously doesn't have a ride. About halfway there I state I have a game the next day and need to get to bed and literally jog by myself the rest of the way. I get home, shut my bedroom door, and head to bed. I hear everyone come in, my buddies pound on my door so I go out and hang out a little. Chick is still there. I don't want to be "that guy" that just bails so I have another beer, then state I really need to head to bed. I go into my room, shut my door thinking it's locked, and make a return phone call quick. After awhile, I'm half asleep and I hear my door open - my door itself sucks and sometimes the lock doesn't click in all the way. I open my eyes and the chick had quickly crawled across the floor and tries to crawl into bed with me. I lose it, ask her what the #### she is doing, and tell her to get out. She tries to kiss me and I push her away. She then starts to cry and leaves my room. I slam the door and make sure it is locked this time. I'm then woken up sometime later by someone (her, I'm guessing) trying to get in. Roommates tell me in the morning she was up smoking weed and doing a little harder stuff with them. I then get a phone message today from her apologizing but saying that it's dumb I kicked her out because I'm attracted to her and it's my mistake, but she's open to still seeing me. Seriously, this #### is freaking me out. I've never experienced anything like this. Someone sneaking into my bedroom is not cool. I'm pretty much fed up and don't care anymore about the sister and figure if she ever contacts me in person again I'm going off on her (just going to ignore any phone calls/e-mails). Figure maybe pre-empting it at work may be the best bet. Sister is very nice so we'll see. In all honesty, to all you married guys out there I'm at the point where I'd happily trade my situation for some mid-level job, wife you don't mind around, and a couple of kids who aren't #######s.

Match.com lets you know the status of people you've been in contact with right on the main page or when you check your messages. I know it sounds like I'm stalking her, but match puts this feature right on one of the main pages so there's no way you wouldn't know. It also says if the recipient has read your message, so that's right there too.

Well, it might help if he had ever said the word "no"--then we might have an idea of whether she understood it. As it is, we don't know. I'll admit to not knowing that much about truly crazy chicks, but do you think it's just coincidence that Woz is the only one here that seems to be not only attracting, but keeping, them? I've always been in Woz's corner, but he exhausts me. You all can continue to wade through all this crap, and I'll just ignore it and try to assist with the many people here who really do seem interested in meeting and maintaining relationships with non-psychos. There are plenty of people in that category.

The main problem I see with Woz is that stuff is always just happening to him. He seems to see himself as the innocent victim in every situation. Most people don't go through life like this...

Minor update on my idating friends situation. We spent some time looking over sites and he found a number of interesting women on yahoo personals. Is that one of the sites with fake profiles? Some seemed a bit unreal. POF has a number of entries, but once he weeded it down to athletic/thin types he only had a handful to consider. Yahoo had around 100, of which 9 or 10 peaked his interest.He has been trying things via myspace for a few weeks and told me that his issue seems to be centered around the initial meeting. He can message and talk on the phone and set up a meet no problem. He has had 2 announce last minute that they aren't going to meet him with no explanation. He doesn't think he said or did anything weird, just a pair of last minute cancels without further contact.When he got a bit gun shy is when I stepped in and began trying to help. So far so good. He has a meet set up with one for next weekend and a potentials list of around 12 or 13 from the 3 sites he is now on. All are freebie sites. Are any of the idating crew finding that the pay sites are working better or offer a larger selection? I may spring for a month or two of match.com or something if it will open up the possibilities for him. Aside from liking thin women, prefers no kids, 25 to 35 is his target range and he is 31, he doesn't seem too picky. Oh and he is more than a little scared of the ones who basically advertise "desperately seeking any man" type profiles.He couldn't stop laughing when I told him the greatest minds in fantasy football were going to try to lend a hand. Our gem of the night... woman demanding an intelligent man, claimed an IQ of 129, and yet failed to form a single sentence that didn't make me feel like she dropped out of school in the 3rd grade.

you might consider putting together a short list of sites that work the best for him and threading it up to the underground. Definately would help new entrants.

I'd agree. And while she was forward in general in the first few e-mails with her, it all seemed pretty harmless and such. Get a few drinks in her though and I think she confuses giving a guy the "####-me eyes" with the "holy#### I'm not letting you alone or go forever eyes." As for the massage-a-woz chick, she's fairly attractive but I reread that e-mail and there isn't one complete sentence let alone one complete cogent though.

I kind of thought this way too, but jeebus. Her pics aren't that hot where I'd be able to bear something like this. I don't mind girls who are into trendy things (like wearing Paris Hilton glasses or whatever) or who aren't grammar nerds, but she can at least type like she went to school.

Yeah, agree that he shouldn't write back, if that was what he meant. And Keys, you forget that women are generally more insecure and more sensitive than men. Whether or not they should be, it's the case, and I don't see any reason to hurt someone's feelings. I guess I'm just nice, for which I'm not terribly sorry.

No... just wondering which was the best way to "reject" someone. So far I've had a few e-mails ignored, gotten one "not interested," and seen a couple "read-deleteds" and, thinking about it, the "not interested" probably bothered me the most.**Although AMBO's ignoring my message pissed me off
