I don't have the pic there fishing for compliments; I have it there like anyone else, and after repeated requests. And I'm anti-dating for very positive reasons, not because anyone "ruined" me or because I don't think there are zillions of great guys in the world. I'm good friends with every person I've ever been in a relationship with and I count some people here as some of the many really terrific men I know (in an iSense). I just feel like my life is too full and happy right now to add anything else to it.

Sadly, though, the kiss was very meh. Now, if it had been my friend Lisa instead...
Wow...me likely short hair. This gal looked much better in person, definately takes good care of herself. She wore this low cut black dress that nicely displayed an awesome set of puppies. Conversation was great and a lot of flirtling going on. Finally a date that didn't seem like a job interview. She definately jumped up the cheatsheet based on pre-season performance.6) Cellgirl - Meeting Thursday eve. Phone conversations have been great. I've probably gotten 300 matches in the same timeframe. This supports my contention that e-harmony is heavily weighted with female members.

Update:This is no fun to type, but there's really no updates. I'm coming to realize I'm not at all ready to give anything to anybody yet. I'm just finding no motivation to move on to anyone else. Normally I love all the little nuances of dating - like the phone calls, e-mails, initial approaches, etc. - but now I'm viewing those things like a chore. A very very hot chick e-mailed me the other day, one I'd normally be happy to even be talking to, but I saw she lived like 100 miles away and simply thought to myself, "great, gotta put aside another 5 minutes now to write this chick back." That's not how it's supposed to work. Otis shotguns off 80 e-mails in a sitting and loves every minute of it. I can't do that and without that type of borderline psychotic effort, I don't think I can succeed at this idating crap. What's caused this? Probably a combination of two things. First, that psycho chick scared the #### out of me. Really, that was a rather inauspicious start. Second, I'll admit, the ex still is present in my mind. Bring on the barrage of "Woz is a moron comments," but rational thought and one's feelings don't always coincide and are at times (this is probably one of the only times for me). Anyways, I still have two dates lined up with what look like two very cool girls. Not much else to update though. No advantage in waiting.....imo.Just don't sound desparate...you'll be fine.Just joined match a few days ago and I've gotten a number of winks from interested ladies so far; only one of which I'm interested in. We exchanged emails today. Is it weird to respond quickly, or do you make them wait and want?Agree wholeheartedly.BG, I'll be interested to see what happens with TSB. As an observer, I can't figure it out. You did seem to be really into her, so I hope she'll come around and make her interest clear. Do you think, though, that not knowing what she's thinking makes you slightly more interested in her--i.e. the ol' "the fun is in the chase"?
As for me, I'll put the pic back up at the underground, but it's so tiny you can't see anything anyway. I'll look for another one. I figure it doesn't really matter, so long as GordonGekko's not here to tell me (unsolicited) that I'm a five.![]()
WE NEED A WOZZY BEAR UPDATE!
Woz,So you aren't ready to date yet, not a big deal... also not a huge shocker based on some of what you wrote. However, look back to your early posts and consider why you wanted to get out there and start dating again. I think you are needing to move on, but you just can't make that seperation yet. Its not easy to break away clean from a long term relationship. You do have to make that break or the ex will forever have your family jewels in her freezer. Based on your history with her ask yourself:1) Is this the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with?2) Is this the woman I want to have children with someday?3) Do I want my future potential daughters to grow up and be as damaged as my ex?If your answer to any of the above is NO, then take the time to get over her and run screaming to the nearest source of other potential dates. I can sympathize that psycho chick scared you. I had a full on stalker at one point while dating between my divorce and new marriage. There are some great women out there though. You just have to weed through the rejects to find the good ones.Your biggest problem, in my opinion, is that you drew a bad date (psycho pseudo stalker) AND she has work connections for you (sis of coworker). You will have those bad draws, look at them as opportunities to get past the BS and help you define what you are looking for in a woman. Now, take a time out to center the brain. Request that your cojones be overnight express delivered and get back to work killer... or marry the ex, whatever works best for you./edit cut out some of the quote string and adding some additional thoughts. You are complaining about the time to email back. Think about the kind of time commitment to pick up a woman in a bar or elsewhere in comparison. I am in agreement about distance though. You could approach that in an easy way such as "Due to the time commitments required as a new lawyer, I really can't travel out of town that far on a consistent basis, however if you want to come to (insert name of town) I would love to meet you... insert random comments about why you may be interested in her based on information in profile, emails etc." I highly recommend you take a dating time out until you can clean up some of your personal damage and then try idating again. To be honest I wish it was in existance back when I was dating. Looking through it with my friend, it seems like shooting fish in a barrel. Women who self identify that they want to meet a guy are waiting to hear from you. You can weed through various personal criteria and then pick through whats left. It seems like a massive time saver, but I am only on the fringe to help a friend out... the practivce may be more difficult than it seems.Update:This is no fun to type, but there's really no updates. I'm coming to realize I'm not at all ready to give anything to anybody yet. I'm just finding no motivation to move on to anyone else. :confetti:I've promised shorty #1 from the underground a date...so I'll set that up for Sunday or Monday night. I know drinks are the standard, but would Sunday lunch be casual enough? Sunday night drinks just sound weird to me.

I think a Sunday brunch date is just fine. Besides, you get to see her in the light of day. Have a mimosa or a bloody mary.

Never had a problem before & I can get into & read the text threads. Anyone know what's up?
Her english is pretty good, but I think you might be on to somthing with her just not understanding certain things. She has lived here most her life, but her parents pretty much only speak polish."Cougar" is like 7 years older than me, but i gave her the name because she went to a high school we used to play in basketball who were the cougars. =) I dont mind older women...you on the other hand dont like younger guys!Couldn't believe when I read the bolded part...a guy friend and I used this for years as our own code for whether we liked a particular person (as a potential date). I'd go out with somebody, and my friend would ask me one question (or vice versa): "Does he get it?" We both knew what we meant by that (no, not that)--if they get it, then we were interested; if not, then they were out. I wouldn't know how to describe it, either.update (its been awhile as i have been sick and not loggin on as much):
polibaby - have hung out with her twice since the first date. She is cute and fun, but there is just somthing about here I dont like. Sometimes i think she just "doesnt get it"...doesnt get what you might ask? It can be anything, it just seems like she has a blank stare sometimes..its wierd. But im sure we will hang out again soon so ill see what sup
cougar - she wants to meet up for drinks asap. She lives out near one of the towns i play softball at that is 45 min from home so she suggested possibly meeting up this tuesday after the game. I plan on doing that. She wanted to meet up this saturday, but im going to the Sox vs Cubs game with buddies that is at 1205, which means we will be drinking by 10am, which makes for a drunk Ditka and probably not the best way to meet her the first time
tall girl - This girl seemed really interested, then nothing. So i gave her the :crickets: email someone said they used earlier, and sure enough, it started the comvo up again. we will see what happens
illini girl - this girl contacted me on plentyoffish saying how much we have in common except for the fact im 5 years older (25 to 20) but I like where this one is going. ONly probalby is she is at University of Illinois for most of the summer, but she is talking about coming home for a weekend to meet me. She is very cute, is 6'0 tall (im 6'3 so it works) and seems motivated. So she could be a good long term prospect.
Blondie - This girl i have had one line emails with for about 2 weeks. Finally i just flat out said "lets stop wasting time sending one line messages and meet up for a drink" to which she replied "when and where". Im thinking she seems like more of a party girl, and lives closer to me, so she might get to meet the drunk Ditka after the cubs sox game saturday...we will see
thats all for me..sorry nothing too exciting.BTW, how is her English? I ask just because you mention the "blank stare". Last summer during my World Cup of Dating, one of the guys I dated was a Bulgarian guy that I kept thinking might be kind of dumb, but he had a FBG-style education and other indications that he wasn't...it took me a couple of months before I figured out that it was a language issue. His English was generally very good, but he had only been here a few years and so there were a lot of American phrases he really didn't get, and instead of admitting that he would pretend he did. Ended up making him seem dumb when he really wasn't. Just thought it might be a possibility with your poligirl...
Is "cougar" someone a bit older than you? I can't remember everyone now. If so, then![]()
If I have time over the weekend, I'm going to try to make a master list of everyone and their prospects, so that we can then just keep that updated. Would be easier for everyone, yes?
Love the updates!![]()
Agree with Krista. If you aren't ready.....GET OUT. You run the risk of leading on someone else if you are still hung up on your ex. Krista...it wasn't a rant. You totally mis-took what I was going for.It was sarcasm that really didn't translate too well over text apparently. Seriously, BG, I didn't respond to the apology nor initially to this post because I (1) didn't want the thread to get even further sidetracked, and (2) am allergic to personal drama (though am addicted to other people's, it appears, from my participation in this thread). I just thought we could let it lie.But I'm a bit worried about you, to be frank. A couple of days ago you got really upset with someone that you thought had insulted you (when he hadn't), and now this one... I am concerned that you're going through some bad #### with your soon-to-be-ex and are having a rough time of it. I consider you a terrific iBuddy, and I'd much prefer for you to stay here and let us help if that's at all possible.

well im 25. Thats not young! how old are you anyway?...you on the other hand dont like younger guys!My last boyfriend was 26, and I dated a guy just before my self-imposed hiatus who was 22. I always like younger guys, but have been actively trying to break myself of the habit. :(
In any case after BG's little rant last night, I vowed not to share anything else personal here (and I realize I just broke that vow). This is about you guys and your iDating!

Wow. Rant?Well this place took an odd turn.Anyway, Woz, I'm not going to call you an idiot. What I will do is reiterate what I've mentioned to you before. You need to deal with your ex, one way or another. It's obviously affecting your everyday life. You can't go on dates and then have her text you, which in turn makes you think about her or worry or whatever. It's not fair to you or to the person you are on the date with. You'll need to do some soul searching and make a decision. Everything will be in limbo until you do.
Mrs. BSR knows thingsPerhaps word has gotten around Chicagoland that you are there.have any of you guys had this expierence with plentyoffish?I signed up a couple of weeks ago and wasnt impressed with the girls i could find in my area and no one was really contacting me. I went back and forth with a girl a little bit, but i wouldnt even really check the site much. all of a sudden recently though im getting 3-4 messages initiated by girls a day (usually 1, maybe 2 worth messaging back) and im finding alot of girls I havent seen before. has this happened to anyone else? Is this site just getting popular so alot of people are signing up?
