***OFFICIAL*** FFA MLB Draft (1 Viewer)

are you downgrading people who are playing out of position then?I mean, is this downgrade going across the board? If players are played somewhere other than where they play naturally int eh voting, are you down-grading those players?
PM's down?
Easy there, JTT.. Home Improvement wasn't that good.
It was a joke. Didn't LB just ask what I was asking and got kicked out of the league for?
:fishing:

And I'm no JTT, that guy pulls more 14 years olds than Clay Aiken. Guy's a stud.
Clay has pull? This is more shocking to me than if you were really Pam Anderson.
If Clay wanted to (and was up to it), and I'm not kidding here, Clay could have a different girl every five minutes for the rest of his life. Even if he stopped touring now and never released another album. I've never seen anything like it. Women, HOT women, crying for the guy. He's my idol.

I think he's the modern day Barry Manilow, well except for the songwriting that is.

Barry Manilow is a cheat and a liar and that's all i'm going to say about that.

is lastresort here? spock left a pick, but said he would be back shortly and may want to change it.if LR isn't here we can wait a few.

I am about to leave for the day, but will be back on tonight. Any chance it will go 8 picks in the next four hours??I can PM, but would love to see what is taken next before picking.

well, Capella has the next pick, so it only needs to go 7...wait until right before you leave and send some sort of list, even if its only like 4 guys long... lol

PM sent to Funkley

Lou Brock
Took ya long enough. :D Good pick. He should be a killer leading off for you.
I almost took Lou Brock with my last pick (he was next on my short list). I struggled a little bit evaluating him though. He's incredibly fast, unstoppable stealing bases, and has more pop than you'd expect. But on the other hand, his OBP is not really what you want from a leadoff man in this thing, and his defense was nothing to write home about.A good pick though, definitely.

SP Gaylord Perry

Master of the spitball. 3500 K's. Career ERA of 3.11 spanning 22 seasons.

EDIT: I'm a #######, he didn't "invent" the spitball, he just mastered it.

 was waiting for that....

#### it, here's spock's pick

Paul Waner - OF
Thanks Capella.Paul Waner - OF

It may be a little early to take Waner, but I just had to have this guy and wasn't sure he would make it to the end of round 8. I have have three reasons for wanting this guy on my team:

1) He'll produce: His hitting style is perfect for my park. He's a career .333 hitter, with 3152 career hits (16th all time), 1627 runs scored (33rd all time), 605 career doubles (10th all time), 191 career triples (10th all time), and his walk to strike out ratio (1091/376) is nearly 3 to 1. He has great range for an outfielder and an arm perfect for a rightfielder (so Gwynn gonna have to move to left or center).

2) He has the best nickname in baseball history: "Big Poison".

3) The guy was more likely to play drunk than Babe Ruth. One year he announced he was on the wagon, but when his batting average hovered around .250, his manager personally shepherded him to his nearest watering hole. Within a few weeks, he was back over .300.

This guy will produce in the sim, and is colorful enough to produce votes in the FFA.

Ahem...Lowest career ERA, 4th all-time ERA+

The Master of the spitball.

If Sammy's here, I'll make a pick, otherwise no hurry. Sammy, let me know if you're here and I'll pick immediately.

There is some current discussion in the rules thread. Wouldn't want anybody to miss out on it (the rules thread is linked in the first post) and be confused later....

Well I was going to take him, then I wasn't, then I was.

Then I did a write up for another guy, then I changed my mind again.

I came down to who I thought would be the most fun guy to have, be fun to see how he sims out.

DENNIS ECKERSLEY

Flame away!

WTF?
Really? Most dominant closer in history not a massive weapon in a 7 game series?

I was told as his third best season as a closer. ('92...51 saves, ERA under 2, whip under 1)

solid pick, not most dominant closer in history.
:fishing: You could make an argument for only two other guys and Eckersley in his prime was better than both.
maybe over a 3-year period..but there are two other guys I think were better, for longer.btw, picks updated on page 1
