only because he would have played 80 of those 160 games...If he only plays in 1/4 of those games, he gets 1/4 the win shares, therefore he'll get about 12.5 win shares...If I start him 30 times, he'll get 3/8 of the win shares, so about 18 win shares...not outrageous, his winshares are increased due to innings pitched, not quality of pitching...If I don't play him for 500 innings, he is a good pitcher, but doesn't have the same value, due to not pitching him the innings...He also comes up with 51 WinShares/162.he's my #5/6 starter and #4/5 reliever...the problem with old-time pitchers is if you start them every day, 'cuz you could...as long as you don't abuse the fact that you have one of them, no big deal should be made about it...Larry Boy picked John Clarkson?

That isn't necessarily how it works. Just because you start him a certain number of times doesn't mean he gets that many Win Shares. He may get lit up like a Christ-X tree.

not with a 150 adjusted ERA his 3rd best year he won't...all I'm saying, though, is that he won't get 50 win shares because he won't pitch 500 innings... if he were played like modern pitchers are played he wouldn't have gotten 50 win shares, just like he wouldn't have had a record of like 55-30 or whatever...

Someone had posted a thread on how to make the best steak and he started the thread out with, "I can't believe that some of you are morons when it comes to cooking steaks", or something like that. Anywho, Joe deleted the post and when said poster asked for clarification in a another thread, Joe replied, "When you start a thread calling people morons, I'll delete it every time. That won't fly here guy...."Then Zartan posted: "####ing PM's down?" Joe put a laughing emoticon for that post. That's when I got involved and asked: "You have a problem when certain posters use the word "moron", but you laugh when certain posters say "####ing"?
Joe replied to me and said, "You're right, I should be more careful. I fixed it for you."
I replied, "No need to be condescending, just pointing out the hypocrisy." <<----this was probably the magic sentence
Then I responded in that thread to a few other people prefacing a word in each sentence with "####ing" ("That's ####ing sweet!" and "That'd be ####ing crazy!"). Apparently, the power that is had enough.
