I think some of it is whoever it is has to be the best in that year (I'm glad no one knew that before doing it)

I think this is one of the reasons Grimes is doing so well. In 1920 he had the best OAV.

I also think this is one of the reasons the RP are fairing so badly, they simply aren't tops ever in these internal measure Whatif uses.

The batting stats should be lower overall since they aren't facing the "average" for that season, but instead above average pitching though that doesn't explain Henderson.
but if that is true, why are Quantrill and Smoltz doing so well??both are RP, and both had below 2 ERAs (until Quantrill let 3 runs go by in his last appearance)...

also... man a 3 run homer kills a RPs ERA... :rotflmao: it sucks... Smoltz went from 0.00 to like 1.5 by letting 3 runs by him... its crazy...

Like I said before, this doesn't include Live games and won't until the regular schedule catches up to that game.

When does Larry get his formal warning?!!? SERIOUSLY!
I don't understand how he gets away with calling people gay #####es and poor pathetic people and all the other #### he says. Must be the same way televangelists get away with stealing all that money--you tell people you're on God's side, they give you a free pass.

It gets harder to feel bad for Larry Boy every day. There is definately a major asskicking in the future, with Larry Boy's name written all over it. Sadly, I am not sure it would be unjustified. :( Larry, wake up. When 99.9% of the world thinks you have overstepped the bounds (not to mention believe in ideas that have been disproven for years, leaving many to think those who hold to such ideas are nutcases or stupid), including mods and those of us that have actually tried to be nice to you, MAYBE they whole world has a point, and you might be wrong? Is there anything wrong with reflecting upon yourself and saying "goodness, I need to look at my life because I might be doing serious harm to myself and my family by continuing to act and think (or not think) the way I do"In the end, I wont feel bad for you - I will give you maybe a year to "figure it out" - or at least start. But once you are 21, the only people I will feel sorry for are children that might grow up being taught what you believe, and learning to think (or again, not think) in the same manner that you do. While you have a choice to change your behavior, they wont have a choice as to how they are raised.

its funny...you probably consider yourself tolerant...

but yet, in your tolerance, assume that I have never really thought about my beliefs one bit just because you decided you didn't think they were true...

I know how to live, and, quite frankly, I've never had any issues...

yes, you guys don't like me... but... newsflash... I won't EVER be places where you would regularly be... I don't go to bars... I don't go to clubs... I don't do that stuff...

grow up... please... no one is going to kick my ### and you know it...

yeah, you feel bad for my kids... I feel bad for your kids when you tell them that htey don't have to listen to the rules that are put up around them... and I feel bad for society when most of the people think like you do...

:wall: :wall: :wall: Last time and then I swear I'm turning you off again. You're very casually forgeting the fact that you were the one that called Nipsey a ### ##### and made fun of him repeatedly for it. You got a little full of yourself over winning and threw mud. Don't try to say you were just kidding because I could feel the payback in your tone from the NBA thread and the making fun of your baseball picks. So please don't act like you're the one on the moral high horse. You've tossed every bit your fair share of insults too.

is it possible we can get this thread back to baseball? The powers that be have given this thread more slack than most and I could see a very bad end to it all, regardless as to who is right and wrong.

actually, I never said Nipsey was the #####, I said UCONN was Nipsey's #####, and the only reason I did that was because, all of a sudden, UCONN spent pages posting repeatedly how wonderful Nipsey was...I was like "huh??" lol... so I said UCONN was Nipsey's #####, jokingly, and UCONN got uber-pissed about it... lol

It wasn't meant to be hurtful at all... I thought it was hilarious that UCONN would freak out so much because someone messed with him about his constant adoration of Nipsey... :rotflmao:

I am sorry if my tone then seemed like I was being a jerk or getting back at anyone... I was laughing the whole time I was posting... didn't mean it mean...

Want to score runs? Check out the All Offensive League Rd 4 in the forums. Need 9 owners. Change of pace, all owners will get an exclusive IF and OF. Past leagues have scores that get into 100 runs per game. See forum for rules or sitemail freshone.
did you guys see that ad at the WIS site??? HOLY COW!!! that is CRAZY... 100+ runs per game???

:goodposting: This guy doesn't merit this level of attention.

If I asked all of you "Does your life revolve around reading this guy's posts?", no one would say "yes". But it's hard to tell judging from the content of this thread.

You have to admit, he's a fascinating character.

As I suspected Koufax shut us down today. Disturbing trend for my team is that Marichal has had 3 bad starts in a row. A lot of close games this afternoon.

I could only manage 5 runs against uber-stud Charles Hough, but thankfully that was enough for a 5-1 win. In a nice side note, the public pressure of his coach finally got to Rickey Henderson. The OFer was a homer shy of the cycle with a 3-4 day plus a walk, scoring three times and driving in one. He also steals two bases including third base once. His average now stands at 0.195. Mendoza line here we come!!!

Rickey's probably in the clubhouse right now talking about what a great game Rickey had.

I can't shut the ####er up...... "Rickey this, Rickey that"....he is POed that he didn't get player of the game, which went to the Deacon. Claiming about holding Rickey down.

Capella, my guys are thinking sweep after their two victories over your squad--and this one with Piazza resting.Capella. It happened, Capella.

Can someone please explain how Al Simmons, whose relevant year had 37 HR in a year when Ruth hit 46, is hitting more HR in our league than Barry Bonds, whose relevant year had 73 HR??TIA.

I go to sit Ripken for the second game in a row when the thought hit me, "Shouldn't this guy be able to play the entire season without a dip in his energy??" If not, that whole "Iron Man" persona was a complete hoax, and the sweet, clean John Martinez should be thanked daily for bringing it to our attention.

Can someone please explain how Al Simmons, whose relevant year had 37 HR in a year when Ruth hit 46, is hitting more HR in our league than Barry Bonds, whose relevant year had 73 HR??

No clue but I do know that I really wanted to draft Al Simmons.

All I know is that the final sim stats will diverge significantly from the real-life numbers.I guess the sim deals in probabilities, as opposed to trying to fashion an ersatz reality. "What are the chances of X happening?", not "How often did X actually happen?".

Combined, Ruth and Simmons are on pace to hit 142 home runs.Edit to add, so is my entire team! :excited:
