:no:the sign of a good alias is when there are only about 10 possible candidates and people still can't guess who it is after 5 guesses.

4 out of 5 :thumbup:Putting Willie Stargell into the lineup = brilliant.Big series with Sammy coming up. Taking 2 out of 3 is pretty important.

also, Willie McCovey hasn't started a game for me in weeks. can't handle the .118 average.wonder if he should get another shot.

Putting Willie Stargell into the lineup = brilliant.
Why did you take Willie out of the lineup in the first place?
Because he was hitting .093 and Cepeda was playing better.
John McGraw and Paul Waner were hitting around .100 for the first 20 to 30 games. Waner is now over .300 and Mcgraw is up to .270 with a .420 OBP and 33 SB. Sometimes you can pull a guy out of the lineup just before he gets hot.

Yeah, and I'm wondering if I did that with McCovey, especially considering he just hit a PH grand-slam the other day...but there's only so many slots to play guys. Billy Williams has been better than I hoped in LF (so I have to play Stargell at first), so I'm not sure I want to risk things and move Billy to the bench, Stargell to left and McCovey to first. And Cepeda wasn't that bad either, but wasn't really what I was looking for.

Basically, I have too many 1B/LF and not enough middle infielders. I should look to make a trade.

Some of these guys are too streaky for me. Williams has been horrible for about 10 games now, and half of those were against dummy teams. He's now back under .300.

You can put Clemente in LF, bench B Williams, and then play two 1B. One at 1B and the other at RF.That's how I'm getting Ted Kluszewski's bat and Eddie Murray's bat in my lineup at the same time.

Yeah, but at this point, I'm not sure McCovey will be better than Williams, who is at something like .290-7-30 ribs. Tempted to do so, trust me. I'd love to see McC pick up and start mashing, but it's risky. Every time I start him he goes 1-5,

If I can get two from Pickles in this series, my team can get back on track in the divisional race with Spartans next up.

:gang1:

OK ... the series with Pickles prettty much worked out. It was good to take two of three from a first-place team. Effin' Kevin Brown was impossible to hit in that third game. Now I have to go to Spartans' fenceless park for three. Need two here, also. Trying to climb back in slowly but surely.

Yeah, how stupid of me to draft pitchers with good career ERAs. Stupid, stupid, stupid!
