***OFFICIAL*** FFA MLB Draft (2 Viewers)

Also, guys, check out the effects of your ballpark. Mine changed -- RF homers and LF homers used to be +1 and -1, respectively. Now, they're both 0. So I loaded up with lefty power hitters for nothing :wall: .I noticed many other changes when running through the parks. For one, Busch Stadium now takes away a lot of homers. Check yours..

And the value of Bill Lange (Scott Podsednick must model his career after Lange, low BA, OBP, but a crapload of steals) goes up again! Now instead of profusely adding steals to his 46 he already has, maybe now he can hit triples!BTW, who else's bullpen has become kind of a graveyard? I promoted my only effective reliever not named John Wetteland (John Tudor) to the rotation and demoted 6.00+ ERA Jack Morris to long relief along with 5.00+ ERA Gaylord Perry. Jesse Orosco is now my top setup guy again, even with an 8.00+ ERA.

I'm glad that the fine folks at WIS saw the problems with their sim, and made the necessary changes to rectify the situation.

Might be a burden for some other leagues to have the day off, but it was overdue. No way my team should be that bad. Glad my e-mails finally touched a nerve and they saw fit to do what was right.

After this, I should be in first place in a week or so.
JM is a stubborn man, glad he finally came around. Could all those free pizzas from Mr. Ham have had anything to do with the changes? Why do I have a feeling King Kelly will be #1 in the MVP voting after this so called whatif "maintenance" occurs.
As if King Kelly doesn't deserve to be the MVP...
Indeed Mr. Nipsey. Where's my good buddy John Martinez? I'd like to congratulate him on the quality site upgrade.

Wow. Sportsman's went from a poor RH power hitter park too a favorable one at +1. Foxx and Killebrew could have huge second halves if they hit better at home now.

The Rabbits scored 14 runs only 4 extra base hits, all doubles, and only 12 hits. Thanks Larry for the 14 base on balls issued today, including 5 in a row.

Can anybody explain to me why Randy Johnson sucks so bad in this thing? His ERA is approaching 5.

Not a pitcher friendly league, Bob Gibson Suxor  Bogy me and you next :boxing:
After I finish sweeping Larry (God willing, or is it?), then its on. :boxing:
Your team should be sharper since I've been entertaining the Dragons Arc squad for a three game series. Hopefully my crew will stay frosty.

Joe Morgan sucks in this thing. Just flat out sucks. Protest.Anyone else have to log in to the site every time now? I checked the "remember me" box but doesn't seem to help. Do I need to paste a new link into my favorites?

You hear that, Larry? That's my team, one game back and gaining fast. You've got a three-game set against a dummy team right now--consider it a stay of execution.

Same here. Sucks.

Funk, how about mixing in a loss now and again. 8 out of 10 means nothing with you just a game back still. :boxing: :boxing:
My team is so friggin streaky it's weird. Before the AS break I lost 9 out of 13 at one point. I was due though, had been 8-15 before this win streak. I don't think my team should ever play .350 baseball over 23 games.

I've gone 7-3 in the last 10 games, but have actually LOST 2 games to Sammy, who is apparently never going to lose again.9 in a row.

GG Bogy. Typical Gibson Loss, defense colapses behind him(3 errors, 4 unearned Runs). Also I continue to outhit opponents in losses(13-9 in this game) yet only 2 were extra base hits. :( Good Old School matchup In the early PM game Joss vs McGinnity :boxing:

yep, very interesting game. Looking forward to this afternoon's game.

Here's streaky for you -- the Blackened Voodoo's season. An symphony in five movements:I. 8-3 streak

II. 11-23 streak

III. 27-6 streak

IV. 4-10 streak

V. 6-1 streak

another good game Kraft. If I get out of Fenway with a sweep it will be a miracle. 2 out of 3 would have made me very happy.

I intended to answer this, but never did.I did the exact opposite from what you did -- after about 30 games or so, I put my then-starting pitcher with the best stats (Babe Adam) in the bullpen to pitch long relief.

I was reading a thread on WIS's forum about the kind of stats you want from relievers. The basic idea is that you want your most-used relievers to actually have better WHIPs and HR/9IP than your starters. The idea is that if your starter fails, you need guys in the game that can reliably stop the opposing batters. That prompted me to sacrifice a strong starter (Adams) for the role of long relief.

It has made a big difference. The previous long releiver, Red Faber, was doing OK, but was statistically a little less effective than Adams. Faber is a high IP guy, so it seemed sensible to let him start regularly, and catch lightning in a bottle on the days he's on. On the days my starters are off their game, Babe Adams and Mickey Lolich normally do a solid job of keeping my team in the game.

It's when I get to Dibble, Plesac, and Henke that I have to really sweat it out, though. I have my settings tunes so that those three have their innings way reduced. They are, in general, somewhat more effective per at-bat after the tuning than before (but those three still have poor WHIPs, OAVs, and ERAs).

Yup GG, once again my lack of extra base hits hurts.Bogy 8 hits 6 for extra bases

Me 8 hits 2 for extra bases :(

OK, I thought the energy level was suppose to be fixed by now. My bench is just not getting any playing time because noone is getting tired. I would expect some players (Ripken, etc.) to hover in the high 90's all the time, but after a weeks worth of games, I would like to see some guys in the 80's and low 90s. I have my catcher at 99 and everyone else at 100, even every pitcher on my staff. Why even draft a bench if that is the case?

Please feel free to play your entire bench in our next game

I would expect some players (Ripken, etc.) to hover in the high 90's all the time ...
Depends entirely upon how many at-bats they had in real stats vs. sim stats. For me, Ernie Lombardo had 450 real-life at bats, but had over 300 through 90 games in the sim. After the engine fix, Lombardi's energy dropped down to the mid-90s.

Alan Trammell, with only 504 real-life at-bats, still gets "winded" after 5 or 6 consecutive starts. His fatigue will get down to 98 or so, and I'll give him a game off.

Makes sense.....still doesn't explain why none of my pitchers get tired, I have yet to see any of them not on 100 except after the first game when my starter dipped down.

I used to have some mild staff fatigue problems that lasted about 30 games into the season:1) Al Leiter is my SP with the lowest real-life IP at 192 IP. For a time, I was trying a 4-game rotation. Getting only three days rest, Leiter would fall into the 40s after a start. I also had him set to pitch well over his recommended pitch count because I was tired of having him pulled early when he was cruising. Now with a five-man rotation, and Leiter's pitch count scaled back a bit (but still more than WIS recommendation), his usage is about right, and his fatigue stays at 100.

2) Dan Plesac was similar in the pen. He threw only 61 innings in real life. In the sim, with his pitch count being left open, he'd tire significantly (down to 50-60) after even a 5-out performance. Now I've got his usage and pitch count set more effectively -- he stays at 100, too.

His 8th inning before hitting Biggio is a classic one.

I won... Harrier lost...its back up to 3 games...I'm almost sorry to destroy all of Harrier's hopes and dreams like this, though... I almost want to lose just because I know that he is basing his WHOLE LIFE AND EXISTANCE right now on having a better record than me in this thing...
