*** OFFICIAL *** FFA WAGERING THREAD - Merry Christmas!!! (12 Viewers)

Like Sano as the dark horse tonight. He'll likely have to hit first in every round, which is a disadvantage, but he's got the power to get it done and at 10/1 I think it's worth a shot.

I agree. Also like that he draws Moose first. I think he's the only real value play.

Been wondering what skills best correlate to HR Derby, and when you're hitting grooved bp pitches, if straight-up power (number of HR, ISO, etc.) becomes less of a factor compared to flyball %? Or lowest GB%? Obviously you have to be somewhat precise. Maybe selectivity?

Also a note on that home Coors RL system: Books do take into account how plentiful or scarce runs are going to be when setting the RL in relation to the ML. They might not be taking it into account enough for Coors, that's certainly possible.

If you talking about pitch selection, I think this is a timed event. So you are reliant on your pitcher to give you what you think can crush.

Dudes trying to do too much too fast in the derby have punched themselves ######ed before. You try to do too much too fast and you're done before you can get started. That's the advantage Todd Frazier had just based on all the experience he brought to the table.

Taking my 15 year old son to the HR derby tonight. Sitting in RF in the section  just to the fair side of the foul pole in the 4th row.

Go lefty's!!!

From the MLB  website: Can participants earn bonus time?
Yes, 30 seconds of bonus time will be awarded for hitting at least two home runs that each equal or exceed 440 feet. Distances will be tracked and posted using Statcast™. Any bonus time will be awarded at the end of the initial four-minute round and the timer will not stop during the bonus time period.

Any advantage here to be exploited or is everyone going to get the bonus 30 seconds?

Yo, it's a bad day when the entire SBR odds page is saturated with tennis matchups amirite. At least you haven't been sober for going on over three weeks, or maybe you have, in which case I sincerely hope you've been able to partake in some sweet, sweet sexual intercourse in the meantime to get you by. I will tell you this much though, if you are relying on wagering as a vice to help carry you through the week you've got a difficult mentality to conjure up for yourself brother.

You guys queued up a post-ASB system for Coors last season, too. Why am I the only one who remembers this.
I think it's august and September overs on 10.5+ or something like that.  Or maybe it's 9.5+ but 10.5 most profitable or something

Pitcher plays a big role.  I think Bryant's Dad boned us last year by being slow and awful

All I know is that there's no CFL until Thursday, the Texas Rangers are 10-0 to the under L10 after the ASB, and I'm starting to get the shakes.

Last year:

Stanton had the 10 longest home runs, and 18 of the 19 longest in last year's derby.

Judge should give him a run for his money though.
