*** OFFICIAL *** FFA WAGERING THREAD - Merry Christmas!!! (6 Viewers)

Probably right but at the same time hurts gave them the lead with 2min left.

When bama was up 14-0 the live line was 19.5, didn't catch the ML but nice payday if anyone grabbed that.  Heck even after Clemson scored the live line was bama -11.5 with the score 14-7.
yeah, saw 19.5 at RB, but the most I could get down was $100, so I said eff it.  Per William Hill twitter, Clemson was 10/1 on live ML at some point in the game

Clemson ran 99 offensive plays?  Pretty amazing that the under still almost hit.
With 1:30 left on a tackle that was questionable.  I wish there was a way I could link the video clip here, its sick.  13-1 u 6.5 on the season going into the game.  ####ty oddsmakers got away with one there.

I guess the scorekeeper gave him the tackle b/c he grabbed the legs and was the easiest person for them to identify given there were 3 other guys on him, but he clearly would've been tackled if Allen was nowhere near there.  Sucks.

When I saw it live I thought the Bama guy was offsides on that play. I still think he was.

It was my biggest bet of the night, but who else would they give that tackle to? He was the guy who went low and grabbed the guys legs to bring him down.

Yeah I thought that dude was offside at first too. He got a good jump but I think he was legal.

Yo, Jeff's numbers are saying that Baylor should be receiving between 4.45 and 9.27 points tonight. That's the wager that is receiving the most amount of love out of all the sports tonight. You know what would be sweet as hell, if WVU was down by like 4 at halftime and WVU 2H -4 was paying even money. Please god let WVU be down by more than two scores at the half.

32 was offsides imo.  The ####ty part is Allen wasn't even hustling to make the play, just sorta comes jogging over and gets involved at the very end.  26 has a pretty badly missed tackle 3 yds behind the line of scrimmage.  22 and 15 make the initial contact for the tackle, Allen is the third guy to make contact, wraps up and gets a solo.  A lot of stuff going on there, blown offside call, badly missed tackle by Humphrey, but as the play stood, I'd give Allen a tackle or at least an assist there if I was the scorer.

The amount of money bet on the College Football Playoff championship game was historic and primarily orange.

More money was bet on Monday's classic between Clemson and Alabama at William Hill's Nevada sportsbook than any other college football game in the company's history, according to vice president of marketing Michael Grodsky.

Bookmakers estimated $15 million to $20 million was bet statewide on the game in Nevada.

EDITOR'S PICKS

The bulk of the money was on the underdog Tigers, who scored a touchdown with one second left in the fourth quarter to upend Alabama 35-31.

It cost William Hill a seven-figure loss and was the "single worst loss on any game ever" for the company.

"It was as bad as a result as humanly possible," William Hill director of trading Nick Bogdanovich, a veteran Las Vegas bookmaker, told ESPN on Tuesday morning.

Bill Sattler, director of specialty games for Caesars Entertainment, said Clemson winning in a high-scoring game produced "the worst loss in any college football game I can remember."

The majority of sports books were heavy on Clemson throughout the week. The money started coming in on the Tigers shortly after they demolished Ohio State on New Year's Eve. At the Westgate SuperBook, out of the first $11,020 that was wagered on the national championship game's money line, $11,000 of it was on Clemson. The orange money never slowed down, leaving sportsbooks rooting for Alabama. Out of 12 sportsbooks -- in Las Vegas and in the Caribbean -- not one of them said they needed for Dabo Swinney's team. They were all Crimson Tide fans.

The worst-case scenario for the house? Clemson and over the total of 51.

MGM characterized the loss it took on the game as "high six figures," which included three six-figure bets on Clemson plus-the-points and a $55,000 money-line bet on the Tigers at around +180 odds.

"Alabama money finally showed up right before kickoff," Jeff Stoneback, assistant manager for MGM race and sports, said. "But it was too late."

Clemson closed as a consensus 6-point underdog to Alabama. At William Hill, the game attracted more than double the amount of money compared to how much was bet on the New York Giants-Green Bay Packers wild-card game. Betting handle was up 8 percent on this year's game compared to the 2016 championship game between the Tigers and Tide.

Johnny Avello, executive director at the Wynn race and sportsbook, said Clemson's win delivered a low six-figure blow to his shop.

"The money I had on the Clemson money line overwhelmed everything else," Avello said.

Las Vegas sportsbook operator CG Technology reported a net loss, but said Clemson winning was its best-case scenario in its futures markets on the odds to win the national title.

Up and down the Las Vegas Strip, bookmakers were on the losing end on the most-heavily bet college football game in recent memory.

A message from one bookmaker right after Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson connected with Hunter Renfrow for the winning touchdown summed it up simply: "Ouch."

The sportsbooks did, however, manage to open for business on Tuesday.

Oscar picks.  STILL don't think emma stone wins.  Value in

Nataline Portman at +180

and

Isabelle Huppert at +400

RLM: Rewarding line movement is a reward system and is one of the most attractive elements a bookmaker can offer its client. The bookmaker wants you to enjoy your time with him so much he will reward you until he gets what he wants from you without changing your behavior. Think about slot machines. Slot machines are programmed to keep a small percentage of the money but payout "random" winnings and jackpots. If payouts were predictable, the gambler would quickly get bored and annoyed. What keeps him feeding the machine is frequent small payouts, occasional medium sized payouts, and the rare jackpot. Most people will feed small and medium-sized winnings back into the machine, keep playing, get high, and go broke. That's how RLM works.

Thanks for this one. I got it at +113, couldn't bring myself to bet against the Preds at home, but the under intrigued me.
Came close to hitting the Nucks winner as well. Went to OT. Nucks have been playing pretty decent hockey couple of weeks.

Wednesday Pucks:

Not much on the docket tonight, no real sides or totals of interest to me. I'm going to take a stab at:

Pens/Caps OT-Y  +260

Should be a great game, let's try to hit another OT winner. I think I've hit 3 of these this year, good time for another.
