Took the fam to Portland for a performance of Shakespeare in the park last night.  We surprised my 15 year old son with it.  He's marginally into acting, and did an acting/improv camp for a week this summer.  However, he's also pretty straight laced, not a typical fabulous thespian.  So when we told him what we were doing he was very leery.  Then, to double up on the discomfort, we found out that we were attending the "all gentleman's and non-binary performance of Merry Wives of Windsor" (knew which play, didn't realize it was that cast).  So LOTS of fabulous actors and people in drag and over the top feminine affectations and non-binary actors.  So we're all a little uncomfortable at first (I mean, c'mon, we live in rural Oregon), and he's SUPER uncomfortable, and then....we had the time of our lives.  The show was fantastic, the actors were fun and funny and mostly good and when they screwed up they played to the audience like masters.  My stomach hurt from laughing.  So glad we did that.  Oh, also we had excellent sushi.

we got us a fake punt AND a fake field goal last night all the other games are going to seem boring in comparison. especially how it almost ended in 3 consecutive pass interference calls. they waived off a PI in the end zone on that final drive. that was how close we got to getting the points we needed. I had Canes 2H +6 as well, so was looking for the straight up win from them
