So, how do the logistics of this work? Didn't you say it was 4 hours away? Do you make a day of it and play some blackjack or something? How long do you have to go back and cash your tickets?
It's an hour away (less if I speed) but the cruise itself is 4 hours. You're only kidding yourself if you say you're not going to play any table games while you're there. I haven't been able to not play (free drinks).
Had the option of going during the day (11AM) and make one big bet versus going tonight (7PM) and making a small bet and doubling down.
Stayed up all night and decided to just go to the morning cruise. Almost missed it, had to pay for valet parking.
I normally play Blackjack and make my bet at the very last minute to account for whatever I'm up or down. You put your money in the machine and it prints out a ticket.
I figure if my bet hits, I've got house to go back tomorrow. They pay cash, no questions asked.
Logistics breakdown of today:
Left at 10AM. Arrived at 11AM. Boat costs $13 ($20 with buffet) and valet parking is $5 if you get to the boat 15 minutes before it leaves, otherwise there's free parking. Boat needs to be 3 miles out to be in international waters which takes about 40 minutes.
11:40AM I am able to sportsbet with cash like I'm in Vegas. Sides, totals, first five, team total, hits-runs-errors, and will a run score in first inning all available.
No room at blackjack to begin with but after an hour enough people lose money so there's now room. I sit down at a $5 blackjack table with $100 and immediately order a whiskey and coke. I play blackjack for 3 and a half hours and alternate between whiskey coke and Miller Lite. I'm drinking for free the entire time. I peak at about $215 but end up with $150 when I cash out at 3:15 to put my bet in.
Morning cruise is nice, lots of old people, not crowded, easy to get around. Go UFC night or Sunday during NFL and it's a nightmare.
Not sure how long you have to cash tickets but you can mail them in or redeem them online in the absence of going back.
They've got NFL season win totals and NCAA College Football win totals.

The new book I'm reading The Confidence Game is all about the psychology of con artists. It is basically just needs hierarchy-type psychology stuff, but it's planted in my brain right now, so even when I'm just doing basic business I catch myself smiling to the other person thinking "I could totally be con artisting you right now."

@oukurt Please respond to my message, or answer my my emails. Don't stiff me. You guys see this? I've tagged him twice already and he hasn't responded either time. This is an issue dealing with him stiffing me for over $7,500. If he'll stiff once, he'll stiff again. You guys should all email him asking about this issue. Do the right thing, @oukurt!
