*** OFFICIAL *** FFA WAGERING THREAD - Merry Christmas!!! (6 Viewers)

F5 - Athletics ML, -110

Mengden held the White Sox to 1ER through 8 innings earlier this season. In 2017, Dylan Covey held a 7.71 ERA giving up 20 HR over 70 innings pitched (1 HR per 3.5 innings pitched). In 2018, Covey has a 2.90 ERA giving up 1 HR over 40.1 innings pitched (1 HR per 40.1 innings pitched).

Either Covey has made an incredible 2nd year leap in both ERA and giving up Home Runs or he's due to give up a multi-jack game (he gave up HRs in 11 of 20 starts last year, gave up multiple HRs in 8 of 20 starts last year).

Rockies score 1st, +105

Looking to grab a little plus money here. Tyler Anderson held the Marlins to 0 ER in Coors Field last season. The Marlins are starting a Rookie who is making his first Coors Field appearance. Going for a little plus money here.

They're resting Kris Bryant? This was a dumb bet. Gonna end up being a huge waste of time. I hope the Reds blow them out. This is what I get for not checking lineups myself.

What a joke.

:goodposting: And once you find the daily lineups you can also search for the starting pitcher at baseball reference and then go splits --> career --> by catcher and see all his stats with the catcher who is catching him that day.

Indians score first, -130 (WINNER)
Dodgers / Mets U6.5, -120
Dodgers / Mets U22.5 HRE, -115

Typically I think these ace pitching matchups are sucker bets but the numbers are too good to ignore here. We've got a combined 9 ER on 145 AB.

61 AB, 5 ER (KERSHAW)
88 AB, 4 ER (DEGROM)

That breaks down to 9 ER over 5.3 complete games of baseball. If that wasn't enough, it's a stormy, rainy, and windy day in New York. Winds blowing in from center field at 10MPH.

Red Sox / Mariners no score in 1st inning, +105

My original lean here was going to be F5 U5, -105 but this bet will give me instant gratification. Weather is a factor in this one too, as it's a windy, stormy, and rainy day in Boston as well.

Wind is blowing in at 8MPH, so again, if anyone manages to go yard in the 1st inning, we tip our hat to them and move on.

Well, I'm toast. YES, it was a sucker bet. YES, I should have played the Boston F5 under instead of the first inning bet.

All that good work I put in the past 4 days. Gone. I'll assess the damage later. I've got one more play for the Angels / Blue Jays game but the damage is done...

You checked lineups right?
Nope, don't care at this point. Full tilt.

Strictly fading Stroman coming off the DL and get away game for Toronto. Shaping up to be 1-5 on the day. I'll take whatever ### whooping is coming my way like a man.

I strayed away from F5 bets and it burned me. Plenty of season left.

I've never heard of 1/3 of the Angels lineup, weird.

He's been off the DL for a while. Again, stick to what you know.

That's just disrespectful @facook. I've been doing very well the past 3 days and one bad day shouldn't open me up to ridicule.

This is my first losing day out of the last 4 and I didn't see you giving me a pat on the back when I was doing well.
Nope, 100% valid.  I didn't mean to come across so dlckish.  I was mostly just kinda laughing about you following Gussy's advice one day and then not the next.  My apologies.  Believe me bro, I'm betting all kinds of ish I know NOTHING about.  I bet all the CFL dogs this weekend based on a (now obviously BS) "trend" I read about.  You're doing better than me.  The spirit of what I posted was meant to be a ribbing, not a ridicule.  I apologize.

Also Egypt -115 tomorrow. :lmao:

See my revised post above!

That said, my ultra-JoePublic Belgium/Mexico/Germany parlay was a hell of a fun winner when Himmler bent it like Beckham in the final extra-time minute.  :)   The $ all spends the same.  Except Chain's.

I can't believe the Dodgers won that. Paying twelve cents on a road fave just to get a Rusty Kershaw (not a euphemism) for three innings feels like one of the top-five squarest things I've ever done.

I've had a few hours to cool down from my gambling meltdown earlier. I went full tilt.

Luckily for me, I didn't lose my ability to pick winning plays. So tomorrow, I simply have to hop back on the pony and get some winners on the board.

Not going to lie. Watching Anaheim leave a guy on 3rd base twice with 1 out to officially bust my bankroll is severely depressing.
The worst part about that is it was the #4 spot in the lineup that left the guy on 3rd base.  Pujols would have knocked the runner in but he had the night off, Valbuena is not buena.  Gotta check the lineups.

Jason thanks for the heads up on that game. Everything I had said Angels. Opposing teams had gone 11-2 SU L13 hosting Jays and had also been 12-1 SU lined less than -120 versus Stroman.

Possibly, this one was a mixed bag.

That Fletcher guy singled his first two at bats. Trout struck out the first time. Bad base running the second time around (by Fletcher). Valbuena was the constant on both though, yes. However, he almost hit a 3 run homer then got screwed on a check swing (the first time around).

The play itself got you to break your radio silence, so that in itself will likely be a net positive for everyone (including Chainsaw apparently).

Winning that bet wouldn't have made a huge difference to me. At 1-5 on the day, the damage was done by that HRE and full game under on the Dodgers game.

Bet totals last 4 days: 5,6,4,8

No surprise that the 8 bet day was the clunker. I'll get my groove back with a better state of mind and keep on crushing.
