Official Fred Taylor Thread (1 Viewer)

Oct. 13, 2007 - 8:40 a.m.

Taylor told the Florida Times-Union that he won't risk playing Sunday if his groin muscle still feels tight. He is listed as questionable and will be a game-time decision.

Fantasy Source spin: This injury didn't seem like a big deal earlier in the week, but it realistically could sideline Taylor for Week 6. This could open the door for a big game from Maurice-Jones Drew.

Additional quotes from the Times-Union..

"I know I could go if I wanted," Taylor said. "But we don't have any more off weeks. So we've talked about needing to let it heal up as opposed to taking a chance. I'll get out there, stretch and see how it feels.

"At practice today, I was able to explode on it. I think they're gonna leave it up to me, but we'll see."

Fred Taylor (groin) was on the field during pre-game warmups Sunday. He is expected to be active Sunday.

We'll know for sure in a few minutes, but it looks like Taylor will start against the Texans despite missing practice Friday. Stay tuned.

Anyone thinking these two are related?

I just hope he stretched his groin in private before hitting the field.

Blog on jaguars site-

Jaguars inactives: Josh Scobee, LaBrandon Toefield, Aaron Glenn, Pat Thomas, Richard Collier, Uche Nwaneri, Kenny Pettway and Reggie Hayward.Oct 14 2007 11:17AMFred Taylor is out on the field, stretching and moving about. That tells me he's going to be active. Taylor is nursing a sore groin.

anyone wanna guess on what share of the workload he'll get?
considering they've been spitting almost 50/50 all season with taylor getting slightly more, i could see MJD getting 60% or so today with freddy hurting a bit. the jags have already used their bye week, so they have no reason to risk further injury to freddy.

So he busts off a 70+ yard run on the first play last Sunday, then he sits during the second half because his groin "locked up" on him. He claims he could have come back into the game had it been close, but he didn't because they were blowing out Houston.

I can't seem to find any new information this week -- info on Monday night games typically comes later in the week.

Anyone else in a position where you are almost forced to start Freddy due to byes? :bowtie: I just don't feel comfortable about this.

If nothing else, the game should be close and it's a division rival. That might get him through the whole game.

Almost. I'm forced to start MJD... No new info... i'm sure we'll find out when it's too late!

Yeah, I'm not forced at all and he's going into my lineup  At last my 2nd round pick is beginning to PAY OFF! ;)

Not to hijack this thread, but MJD has done nothing since last weekend.Well, neither of the JAX RB's, IMHO.

Fred Taylor starts and has about 12 carries.

FWIW, all of the local Fred talk has been about Fred's feelings regarding MJD's performance and Fred breaking 10,000. Thre has been zero injury talk locally.

Very true. Of course, unless they played for the NYG or Atlanta, no RB has done anything since last weekend.

Sportsline's reporting MJD is questionable this week with a thigh bruise so that possibility should help Fred.....provided the groin holds together.

I need an Act of God tonight... i.e., Fred Taylor getting into the end zone.

Hey, it's bound to happen at some point this year, right?
