Hammered GoW Otis activated.

Blue balls too. Tonight's date was a cutie. No love for the Otis.

There's always the second date

So really where are all my :nerd: people at??

I should be able to play in this, as long as I can get my wife away from the TV by the time it starts!Might want to have alternates just in case.

I tried to go online a few times and I am experiencing some pretty bad lag. For instance, I will be walking up steps and the next thing I know I am down at the bottom of the steps where I started. Pretty F'd up. Are you guys seeing the same thing? My connection has always been pretty good, not sure what is going on.
So I picked up COD3 yesterday and played online.... flawless. No lag whatsoever. I am really confused as to what is going on. :o

I was shocked at how short the campaign was.

Incredible game, great story, but a very underwhelming ending.

I didn't read anything about the game, so after I defeated RAAM I figured I'd be on to the next mission. Guess not.

Loved the game, but was disappointed in the length and the ending. Didn't get that 'feeling' after you win a game.

Going to have to try it on insane.

This game is not about the single player mode

I understand that the 'campaign' is only one facet of the game. I just thought with how great the game is overall, they did a poor job on the length and ending.

Now that most of us have had the game for a few days, I propose we hold a FBG round-robin tournament this Friday evening at 10pm CST.

We'll take four captains ... a bold name indicates that person is IN.

Current player count: 11

1. stonereaper9

2. Tango Zulu

3. Otis66

4. Usual21

And then draft teams of four from the talent pool below. Interested players can sign up either in this thread, or we can start a new tournament thread on the board to keep this one uncluttered. On Thursday, we can hold the tournament draft and then slot the pairings. I'm thinking three best-of-five matches, followed by a best-of-seven skirmish between the top two teams to determine the weekly champ.

Also, this is meant to be FUN more than anything else. While some of you might be a bit timid about playing online, realize one thing. I am the absolute KING of spectating during matches, and none of you are going to come close to taking my crown. Have fun and, if nothing else, you can enjoy the refreshments I'll bring to the death lobby.

Now, all that's left is to find out who's in. While we have 20+ GoW nics right now, I'm guessing not all are going to be available on Friday; however, if we have more than 16 interested, we can certainly add another team or two.

some of the game modes look cool, just joined an execution game (protect/hunt one player)
that's assisination, execution just means you need to finish the job with a head shot - he cannot bleed out, warzone is the easiest in that you just have to deal enough damage to kill him or he can bleed out.

I hope you guys are still playing this into December.
Honestly, I can see myself playing this WAAAAYYYY past December. It's that good. In about 2-3 months, Epic will release some new maps. The maps they have now are great, but once they add some new ones the game will be even better.

IN.I propose that the rest of you stop playing until I'm back home on Wednesday night.

well, i like to occasionally pretend i have a life, i know its not true, but i still like to pretend.

but ill bring it up, see if there's any support. what if we did it another night? not friday or saturday? anything else and im in, but at least for me friday might be tough? anyone else in this boat?

Nope. My only problem is getting my wife to go to bed so I can play in HD on the 55 inch screen.

Even though I will not be there, I still want to know where I would get drafted. :bag:

Sure, my showing the first night was not great, but my strong background in :nerd: hood should bump me up a few spots.

The reason we picked Friday stemmed from a comment made during last Friday's matches. We were playing four-on-four around 10:30 when I said everyone must be married with kids to be home on a Friday night playing video games.

Not surprisingly, seven our of our eight fit this description.

The lone gunman was too busy trying to match up sport coats with Crocks to respond.

Also, this isn't some grandiose, one-in-a-lifetime event. It's simply a fun way for everyone to participate at the same time. If we get enough participation, I'm sure it's likely to become a weekly thing and could certainly be moved to another night in the future.

Green94, you're not on the list ... what's your XBOX tag?

It wouldn't surprise me if I'm undrafted. :bag:
It certainly would me, and I'm sure that's not the minority opinion.I had just as much fun in the dead pool last night with the other KIAs watching you sneak around all alone and outnumbered as I did playing. Takes a little bit of practice to translate the single-player campaign success to multiplayer, but you were already climbing up the learning curve after only a few matches.

IN if I can figure out how to get rid of lag.
Have you tried hosting a match? That would be a good test to see if it's your connection or if you have just had bad luck in choosing matches.I have seen very little lag, I've only had one game so far that's like you describe. I quit out and joined another and it was fixed. Good luck.

Sorry ornicus we had a full room of my "group".

Sent out invite when we had room but apparently you guys had one going

DOn't think I can commit to anything of Friday night - not that the wife and I ever go out but you never know :)

Yeah, that's a strange feeling - knowing all your boys are dead and are watching every move you make. Felt like the month before my annual review at work - working extra hard to impress the boss. ;)I'll admit, it was more fun than I expected, even when I was usually the first one dead and couldn't kill a crippled mouse.

Does anyone have a receipt for the Collector's Edition they could fax me? My mom got me the Collectors Edition and I have the regular. I just want to return that one and get credit for another game.

If you guys ever need more people to play with that are mature and not whiny little kids, I suggest you check out a place I hangout at called www.zerocommit.com/mb It was started by a group of guys that hated all of the whiny little punks and cheaters online. They always run leagues and tournaments for most 360 games.

Everyone there is cool and there's always people online to play with. If you go there, go to the Introduce Yourself section of the boards and tell them Usual21 sent ya.

this sounds great. I like to play sports games, but when i go online and start to kill some little punk kid they either quit or give up and give you bad feedback. it's why i usually stick to playing franchises against the CPU.

seriously we were dying laughing because you seemed to be lost on the map. Then with only seconds left you somehow managed to get blown up. :lmao: :lmao:

This place is well run. The leagues are fun, but more fun are the weekly tournaments that they have for the various games. The winners of the tourneys even get sig logos. Cheesy, but fun.

good to know. We're pretty much the same way - it's kind of funny when one guy plays you'll always hear one of his kids in the background. It's comical.

That one was awesome. As the timer counted down it seemed like it was going to be a draw. 5. . . .4 . . . .3 . . . . 2 and then he tried to catch a grenade with his ###. :lmao: :lmao:Deadpool is awsome.

one setting I have not played but would love to try out is friendly fire turned on - just to make it more realistic.

You mean battling locusts with rocket-launching bows just isn't cutting it?:DWe would have been in trouble last night with this turned on. I think, at one point, I emptied an entire magazine point blank inside the mansion wondering why in the hell this guy wouldn't drop.I nearly laughed my *** off once I realized it was one of the good guys. Of course, the obligatory, "you're an idiot" from my wife didn't help much, either.
