thats what I thought, hope no other games force us to DL onto the drive or I will have to buy a bigger hard drive, at least I hope my xbox allows for bigger hard drive.

yeah you must DL the first disk onto your xbox hard drive. Apparently its to speed up the loading time process

I have banned my wife from tv for the next week due to this game. I gave her plenty of warning. told her to clear the real housewives and cardashians and bachelors and all that other horse#### off the dvr and get it out of her system. I don't know how she's going to be spending her evenings for the next week or so, but I know what i'll be doing.

Installing. Looks like 7876GB required for xbox and will take about 20 minutes.
FWIW, there were only a handful of copies left at BestBuy. I asked if they had more in back, and the guy said not many. I also purchased the strategy guide.

Figured it would take longer than that to install 8+ gigs of data. I'm not even sure if the HD in my older model 360 has that much space. It'll probably still take me all evening to delete enough crap to fit it on there.

I have one of the original (small HDD) XBox 360's and I'm pretty sure I have a little over 10 GB available. You'll probably have to delete everything, but I'm thinking you'll be able to install it.
7.9 GB just to install on Xbox? Wtf. I've got an old console and doubt I have that much space even if I delete everything.
Can I run this off a flash drive or something? Is (potentially) my only option to have to buy a new HD?

Thanks for reinforcing that the high point of contemporary gaming is yet another crime simulator, though. It's really good for the medium's cultural advancement, "no question".

@Uberman5000 Well, when somebody makes a massive immersive video game where we all recycle aluminum cans, and ride bicycles, and protest wars, and eat vegetables, and reduce our carbon footprints while fighting for gun bans and majoring in liberal arts with a minor in women's studies, I'll be sure to check it out. I'm sure that will be exciting.

I just got the second guy, Michael of serious anger management issues, when my son GTA-blocked me. Gotta wait until tonight....
A couple things to report -
1. Jumping into a moving train will kill you.
2. Climbing a suspension bridge to the very top and diving into a river will also kill you. Water or no water, you're gonna be dead homie.

They get all righteous about video games because of the violence, but if you tell them Titus Andronicus is playing at the local theater they'll pack up their kids and head off to see a guy pretend to serve a woman a meat pie made of her murdered children.Saw this under an article about the game:

I've spent at least 10 minutes on every new version of this (same) game since the very first GTA.... and to this day I still have no idea wtf is so appealing about this thing. 
It's pretty much 'real life' in a video game. I have zero desire to blow up cop cars in real life, so why would I find it interesting to do it in a video game (with no in-game benefit)?

Your logic is something to behold. You can hate on the game all you want, but not understanding how others can enjoy a game where there is an interactive fully breathing city that is completely explorable, is kinda strange. I remember playing a few online matches with FBG's on the last GTA, but it was never really compelling enough to play long-term.

Pretty sure Saints Row 4 is like a AA team compared to GTA 5. GTA 5 reportedly cost upwards of 250 Million to make.

Cool, so they'll probably drop the price closer to holiday sales because no one's talking about Saints Row and everyone is talking about GTA. Looking forward to playing both, but I've got so many games in the queue that I'm not getting to either in the next few months.
A) when is the new PS4 supposed to be released?
b) are they going to release GTA5 for the PS4?
C) if I buy GTA5 for the PS3 will it be worthless when everyone starts playing on the PS4?
