I finally got into the airport and grabbed a jet. As I go to take off, fog as thick as a thundercloud rolled in. I have no idea what I crashed in to.

Not sure if this would help anyone else, but a kid told me that you go into settings and change Site Options to Complex. Instead of just that little red dot, you'll get that red dot with a circle around it for your pistol. Makes it a little easier to see where the hell you're aiming, although I still have trouble seeing it.

I've found that stealing a jet isn't too hard from the regular airport.. but man, I spent a good hour last night trying over and over to steal either the figher jet or helicopter from the military base on the other side of the map. I got really close a few times, but the stupid tank on base would usually blow my plane up before I could get off the ground. :lmao:

Can you imagine how much fun it would be to be a story/author guy for a game like this. You'd get to stand over designers and say things like, "no dude, make her tatas bigger and more ROUND!" and "Can one of you physics nerds figure out how to make this fighter jet go faster and be more realistic when I'm flying it?"

I too found the airport.

1st attempt:

On motorcycle I fouind an entrance along the fence. I got off the ground but I took too much fire before I got away. I crashed into the Hollyvine sign.

2nd attempt - I drove through the gate past the guard. This actually seemed to buy me more time before the feds were all over me. Unfortunately I couldn't find a small plane to get into and this quickly escalated into a massive fire fight. I didn't make it, Jim.

3rd attempt. Came through the gate again and found a plane. Unfortunately in my haste, I parked my care too close to the plane and I got caught up on it. After about 15 seconds of three point turning I managed to dislodge not only my car but another cop car that showed up. I even managed to get a clear path for takeoff and build up some good speed before running into something, knocking off my right wing and then igniting the plane. I took out a few cops before they got me.

4th attempt.- On the way to the airport I must have hit a gang banger because about 20 red dots appeared on my radar and cars started chasing and shooting. I killed them pretty easily but then the cops showed up. They followed me into the airport this time so things weren't looking good. I was wrongly gunned down while missing on several clumsy attempts at getting into the plane.

5th attempt - I can't seem to find the airport now. I hit another gang banger on the way to the airport. Those guys should really stay out of the street. I took a few out but accidentally hit the Y button and jumped out of my car at about 70 MPH just before my car hit a nearby wall and landed on top of me.

The kids at school are raving about this. An uptick in absenteeism the last 2 days. Also, a few more kids complaining of being tired, falling asleep in class.

Anyone else go down shooting at the end of every session for the hell of it? Last night I saved her up and then stood on a corner in swim trunks and flip flops and just started mowing people with the shotgun. Cops showed up and I got about 10 of them down before they blew me away. Didn't go for cover, didn't run, just me and the shotty.

This is how I spend 80% of my time playing.

Last night I stole an 18 wheeler and just drove around the highway plowing into every car I could find. It felt great.

Also, I think someone mentioned it. But running up and superman punching everyone you come across on the street is pretty great.

I also knocked a lifeguard out cold with a backhand slap.

:lmao:

Can't find a plane again and end up getting hung up on a wall. I think I'm firing my pistol at the cops and hitting nothing. I move the camera and see I am no longer firing my gun and Im just holding my hand out the window giving the cops the finger as they approach and gun me down.

:lmao: So great.

I'm getting the sense that this GTA version is actually fun. May have to pick this up soon.
It's fun - and I despised GTA4 (never even finished it). I find a big thing helping is switching the characters. If you finish a mission, you don't have to spend 15 minutes trekking back for another, you just switch players and keep moving forward.

There's a really high level of detail that's fun to take in - I actually moved away from open world games (except red dead which I enjoyed) but this one pulled me in early.

Standard operating procedure, sir. Go home, save, then before you turn off the PS3 run outside and make everyone say hello to your little friend.

Real life sucks. Driving to work this morning I had to resist the urge to swerve onto the sidewalk and run down a biker. :kicksrock:

The local news had a story about a guy who got robbed and shot by his cab driver. My first thought was obviously "GTA..."

All you people trying to steal a plane: didn't you get the code for the blimp?

I know the theft is the fun part, but after awhile if you want to fly, just call a blimp. Crashing it into the skyscrapers is hella fun.

Anyone have any idea on how to make some money?

Besides taxi driving.

The stock market is a bust (pisseeiser is diving). And winning at tennis paid a whopping g $25. I need cash.

Yeah I've done poorly in the stock market as well. :kicksrock: .

I happened upon an armored truck once. If you beat up the guards you get the cash inside. Scored an easy 5k, even though the cops ended up killing me immediately afterwards.

I was surprised at the amount of money the Trevor character had. Hope it's not needed for a future mission or anything because I've been spending it like crazy on stupid crap. Fully automatic assault rifle with suppressor and scope.

I just do the quick save on my phone, fyi.

I tried 4-5 times and finally got it working!

Customizing my cars at Los Santos Customs right now.

EDIT: Franklin's license plate is now PANTSOFF DROPTROW

So what was the stupid crap you spent money on?

Who would have guessed the homeless people carry money on them? Just made $111 clearing out a tent city under an overpass.

I've found that the lap dances are kind of realistic. They even managed to capture the soulless empty gaze many strippers have. But the rail stuff seems unrealistic. I "made it rain" several times and they don't even respond.. :(

keep going to the strip clubs and friending the various girls there and eventually they will join each other for some lesbian lapdance action.

GOTY.

Feeling touristy. I took the blimp to Mount Chilidad, where I found an observation deck and a girl.

I said hi.

She said, "um, do I know you?!" and turned away.

So I donkey punched her, then took a selfie with her body in the background.

Ahhh, memories.

Update: for those who like skydiving, there's a parachute in the cable car building at the top of Chilidad.

Time to see how high this blimp can go...

I don't understand this aspect of the game and that's what almost everyone is doing first. Real life down? Go spend a weekend and some racks with AZ Ron.
