Got to play the tank mission and the F15 mission. Both were epic.

F15 mission is pretty hard to do as the plane. Harder than you would think.

Played with Uni some last night. One exchange was like this:

C-Hey lets go rob this store

U-What? What's that?

C-Rob this store over here see? :LandsHelicopter:

U-Hang on i need some ammo at the ammunation

C-Ok lets go.

U-:Storms in and kills everyone in the store:

C-

U-Wait, what that wasn't what we were supposed to do?
After you left to go eat I used your helicopter to just follow a guy around the map for like 15 minutes. I was picturing him looking around all paranoid like Ray Liotta in Goodfellas.

Also I think the 30k I dropped wasn't just a one time thing. It put a new number in my phone for the rental van. Costs 1k to give them a call and rent a huge airport style van. No clue what use that would ever be.

Maybe you can use it to take your friends to the Kentucky Derby?

It's not clear what number they are comparing to for percent growth otherwise when you just look at the market.
I really think that's just a random number. I bought a handful of stocks that showed they were down ~75% and of course they have just languished. The number does not seem to be tied to anything. :nerd: alert!!!

I've been tracking values on LCN and have identified some entry/exit points on a few stocks that have bounced around in a range but have not exhibited an upward/downward trend. With little-to-no impact from me on the market (i.e., blowing stuff up, missions, etc.) the stocks I am trading are UNI and RAI.

Code:
Ticker Buy SellUNI $8.00 $9.25RAI $8.75 $9.60
GCD also bounces around in a range but has been on something of an upward trend so I am avoiding for now. PRO and MER also made my list for trading ranges but exhibited even stronger trends. Could just be my very, very limited data though.

Not sure where you're getting the helicopters, but as a general tip, you can easily jack one from the helipads by the docks. In single player, it's the pads that Michael can buy (I think).

Also I'm totally going to do the bolded.

Also, I'm convinced Bones is an unemployed 18 year old who does nothing but play GTA Online in his mom's basement. He's an awesome bro to team up with, but this thing has been running for what? A week? And he's rolling at level 32+ with stacks of cash and a helicopter.

Either that or he works for Rockstar.

:tinfoilhat:

So I was looking up vehicle stats. When you join the Social Club thing at Rockstar you get a free Elegy RH8 car that you can access in your storage garage.

Thing has as good of stats as the best super cars in the game. Speed 8.2, Brake 1.7, Accel 8.3, Handling 8.2. For comparison, the best super is probably the Entity XF (have only found it by purchasing it) at Speed 8.3 , Brake 3 , Accel 8.3, Handling 8.3. So only place it loses out is on braking. And who cares about that, brakes are for ####### right? ;)

I might have to start using the RH8 as my main car next time I do a play through and am starting out. Since they are unlimited for all 3 characters by just visiting your garage, pretty nice. Though I will say the Entity XF handles amazing, especially after full upgrades. Hit $1 billion on all 3 characters so the $795k price tag on it is pocket change now.

I admit it. On strong turns in RL my instinct turns to squeezing the e brake.

Maybe this violence in video games has some credibility.

I will be honest, i thought the online aspect would be lame and not appeal to me, but after playing it for a few hours, I am totally loving this. I enjoyed it so much that I still have 40 missions to go in offline story but i rather do my own thing online at the moment.

Yeah, it is altogether possible I never take another step forward offline.

This is why I plan to finish offline before dipping my toe in the online pool.

By then everyone will be rolling around in tanks, have their own aircraft carrier, and battleship out in the ocean and a fleet of UAVs to put on your ### before you can even locate the first liquor store to rob. And then Icon with his party bus full of strippers.

I'll be sure to name my account Sweat Pea, and get a really big champagne bottle.

Ok, I see people complaining about other users having tanks and fighter jets and constantly killing them, but cant you just leave your current session and join a random new one? Not sure why that would be a real pain for people.

Also, I just started so I dont have much money but I dont think I was ever charged anything for being killed by someone. Also I am not sure why anyone goes to ATM's when you have a bank on your internet from phone. So is there any purpose to not having all your money in the bank as opposed to on hand?

I don't get this either.

If you forget to use your phone to deposit your money, you can be robbed by another player, but who's that dumb? Why on earth would anyone roll around with any cash on them? You can buy weapons and property and car mods with your bank account, so why carry cash?

Nobody is lobbying into ones with huge level guys. They are coming in thru invites. The matchmaking system is solid. Dump out to another lobby if you don't like it or join missions.

I stole a helicopter and followed a player. Everyone should do this - it's loads of fun.

The guy I spotted was being chased by the cops. By the way he kept ducking in alleys and squirrling around like mad, I think he thought I was Five Oh. He must have gone nuts wondering why a helicopter was following him despite only having 2 stars. :lmao:

He figured it out after awhile. All he had to do was look at his map to see another white dot dry humping his own.

He finally got sick of me tailing him and dove under an overpass. I stayed there hovering over him for a couple minutes. I thought he went AFK, but he then he scooted out for a peek before running back to his car. After another minute he flew out of there like a bullet shot out a cannon. I was :lmao: so hard I didn't even bother pursuing.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever been outranked by more than 9 levels or so. My problem with online is simply that I'm self conscious about sucking. Particularly on missions where I don't know what's going on. I'm pretty sure I joined a plane hijack mission where my team ended up shooting at me because I didn't know what I was doing.

Similarly my first couple of deathmatches on any map and I'm lucky to get 2 kills.

Question:

If two of us meet up and take a helicopter together, can one fly and the other shoot?

:football:
Yes. Uni was hanging out the side of the helicopter yesterday blasting people with varying degrees of effectiveness.
I just peed a little in my pants, I'm so excited to do this.

ETA: Bones has access to stick bombs. Which probably means he can get grenades. Imagine flying around the map lobbing grenades at everyone. :lmao:

Is there any chance we can get the first post updated with our FBG names = Rockstar names?

Bones and Tresmash are the only ones I recognize in there.

How drunk was Uni and were there any friendly fire incidents?
:lmao: I was pretty sober when Culdues went to bed, but by the end of the night it was pretty difficult to make a turn without slamming into a guardrail. :banned:

Kinda surprised you and Sarah haven't bought this game yet.

Not too far off... but almost double the age :bag:

I don't own a chopper, my GTA apt is right by the docks so one of the first things I usually do is jack one.

I'm probably only going to be logging in as my own crew now since they accepted the LRG logo I did... but definitely still down to run with you guys... and you're more than welcome to join the LRG crew and Hustle Trees with me if you want.

If the stock market for single player is tied to online and what people are doing in their own games, am I going to be at a huge weird disadvantage if I don't play this game for a few more months?
It's not. There a few stocks that trade on both exchanges but online and offline aren't tied together. They are still fixing the online stock market anyways. It is still closed even after the title update last night.
Are you talking about on Xbox it being closed?

On PS3 I had one day where it wouldn't update prices for 8 hours or so. Other than that, sometimes it won't update for a bit, but it's always updated prices within an hour or so, or if I quit and relaunch a few times. I haven't seen it outright closed, other than perhaps that single day. Though that was right about when online launched so I figured it was server overload.

For Leeroy... there are two markets, one unaffected by other players, and one that is. You should always be able to make money off the first market just by getting familiar with the general max and min for stocks.

The online, I'm not convinced anything matters in it beyond number of shares bought and sold. You might miss out on some golden opportunity like early on where there was a $1 stock so everyone invested in it. But there should be some other cheapest stock that will still draw most of the interest.

Speaking of which, didn't get to play yesterday, but logged in to check my stocks and cash out and make a save point. HAL was outgaining PIS again finally. PIS has passed WIZ, and I expect at some point WIZ will start climbing as well. It hadn't happened as of checking last night though, WIZ was still dropping.

Each time I get my stocks, I put at least one share in all three so I can check the progress since my last stock cash in/save point. It's not clear what number they are comparing to for percent growth otherwise when you just look at the market. This way I can check my portfolio and the percent change is based on a specific moment in time - when I bought the stock.
I don't know how persistent you are in checking but I've NEVER gotten the BAWSAQ to work... ever.

FYI you can't shoot and fly at the same time... so you're safe as long as the helicopter chasing your Ray Liotta ### doesn't have a #2 in the white dot on the map.

Evidently, sharing this info is useless as everyone has different values for all stocks and they all behave differently.

I have considered it but I always get burnt out on GTA and she has never played anything like this. She always has issues playing new games especially if she dies, things will be chucked across the room. I always have to pick the games I suggest to her wisely and play coop a while until she is hooked. Although a buddy of my here loves the game and his girlfriend just tried it for the first time and is interested so maybe I can parlay a coop gang between them.

Sorry Bones - had to run.

I tried to find peeps in our crew when I joined but it said no one was on. Are you no longer part of the FFAM?

Okay, so apparently we have to be friends on the Social Club for me to invite anyone if the crew is private. So if you don't have a Rockstar Social Club account yet, just head on over here to register and get one: https://socialclub.rockstargames.com/signup

Once you have an account all setup, reply back here with your name so I can invite/friend you into the crew. Even though 360 and PS3 owners won't be able to play against/with one another, obviously, we actually don't need to make two separate crews since both groups can be in the same crew, albeit just play separately. So that's good, I guess.

Anyway, I know this is a pain in the ### but it's the last step towards being a member of the crew, so suck it up, son!
Okay, I'll join the crew. Not online a bunch, but would rather roll with FBG's than strangers. Name is Kilgore27 on Social Club and on PS3. Would love an invite.

Looks like they closed the repeat loophole on most of the coop missions. Now really the only way to XP/Cash farm quickly is doing different races which are sort of boring imo.

Explain to me why one of the properties up in Sandy Shores isn't the way to go early on? You will spawn away from most of the pvp types and close to a nearly infinate spawn helo, a customs dealer for a quick car sale, and a few stores that nobody hits for some xp?

Did they close the loophole in single player regarding the hidden briefcases full of cash? I spent time going to the underwater locations where the loot is supposedly buried but there were no packages to be found. It's still early in my game (haven't picked up Trevor yet), so maybe the packages don't appear until later on?

They are still there but you can't use the loophole where you can swap players to regen health anymore.

Money in the BankGiven some of the recent technical issues during these first days of GTA Online, and now that things are starting to look much smoother (touch wood!), we are planning to provide a special stimulus package for all who have played or will play Grand Theft Auto Online this month. We will be dropping a cool half a million GTA$ in the GTA Online bank accounts of all players this month, starting as early as next week.‘Don’t Spend It All in One Place!’In order to keep the current worldwide in-game economy balanced, we will be providing this GTA$ to players via two deposits of $250,000. We will announce specific dates as soon as possible, but are currently hoping to be able to make the first deposit by the end of next week (after we’ve confirmed that issues causing game progress loss have been fixed) with the second installment to happen by the end of the month. For players who experienced cloud server errors, connection issues, and lost game progress and characters in these first days of GTA Online, we hope this GTA$ helps to facilitate a fresh start or makes your continued life in Los Santos and Blaine County extra sweet.Below are a few more details on how it will work. Stay tuned for tips on how to make the most of GTA$ cash, info on ways and places to earn more cash fast, as well as updates on all the new GTA Online content additions we’re working on for this fall and beyond. You must play or have played Grand Theft Auto Online at any time during the month of October 2013 in order to qualify for the GTA$500,000 deposit in your in-game bank account.

Players will first have to install a forthcoming GTAV title update which we expect to happen next week. That title update (1.04) is expected to fix the remaining instances of issues that have caused vehicle purchase loss and will also enable the functionality through which we’ll be providing this GTA$ stimulus cash to players. We will announce at the Rockstar Newswire when each deposit is made.

Each of the two GTA$250,000 deposits will be made by Rockstar and should automatically appear in the in-game GTA Online bank accounts of eligible players. Beyond downloading the forthcoming title update mentioned above, there should not be any additional special action required by eligible players to redeem.

You can still swap players to regen breath and health, and repair a vehicle. But hidden packages completely disappear after any of your characters pick them up once.

Weapon and armor drops will still respawn, but swapping characters doesn't seem to trigger it anymore either. I think you have to leave the area completely and come back. At least that was the case when I tried to farm RPGs before they were available for sale.

Oh. Well, shoot, guess I'm going to need to play a little bit so I'll be eligible.

So if you have a private crew, can you set up your online game so it's just that group, and you don't have to deal with other random players attacking you?

In the mission lobby you can, but you are going to need 16 people online to keep the freeroam crew only and you are gonna get dumped out to the freeroam on lagouts occasionaly.

Don't sweat randoms. They are mostly harmless and avoidable. If you play clean you end up in lobbies that play clean. It's not just people running around trying to kill other players. Those guys stick to TDM mostly which happens in the mission lobby.

I'm doing the big score tonight, will be online starting Saturday night.

Anything I have to do to collect this free $? How far does 500K go online?

This jackass excluded, obv.

Has anyone determined what triggers a 4 star in the military base? Sometimes just a fly in triggers it and sometimes you have to have feet on the ground.

Hmm, the packages never appeared in the first place for any of my characters. Weird.
