Bear in mind that if you're playing in a group with friends or crew members, you'll earn more money and cash than you would have if you'd been playing the same mission with complete strangers, so it definitely pays to rustle yourself up some amigos for a bit of co-operation.
Another reason why I want to do a run of missions one night with one (or more) of you guys.

FYI, jacking a helicopter and then going on a storefront robbing crime spree is easy and pays.

1) Steal helicopter from downtown helipad

2) Fly to nearest store

3) Rob store, shoot clerk and extra register if there is one, get $ and 3 stars

4) Get in helicopter and ascend, wait for 3 stars to go away, get rep points for evading stars

5) Go to next store and repeat

Biggamer and I did a survival mission last night where the cops come at you in swarms at a train yard. He dropped off but in looking for a good place to hunker down and fire from cover, found these dumpster things you can hide in. Made sniping incoming cops easy.

I always get helicopters that are a pain to lose. I found d that if I fly high I can turn forwards them and fly downwards and to build speed to get away.

:lmao:

You got off too early last night. We did a bunch of races between the three of us. Finally have over 100k in my account. Need to find a good garage to purchase I guess.

Been playing online for a couple days now.

PSN tag is sae_1856

What do I need to do to get together with some of you guys?

Races really are the easy money

Yup. A couple times a random person would sneak in our game, and they were usually terrible. Increased the payouts though. Short track, set to one lap with super cars and a group of friends can make money quick. If you wanted to work together you could coordinate betting and allow specific people to win each time to make even more money. That's kinda lame though.

Red Five 69?

Seen you around a bit. Tried to hook up last night, but you ran away. Blue glow around a white dot = crew.

Yes, yes they are. : bowtie:

Looks like 1st 250k hits tonight at midnight. I don't even know what to buy. I sort of like my sandy shores garage.

 That's me. I think when I saw you I was pulling in to LSC to sell a car and saw a burnt out cop car and another car with a name over it and freaked out... didn't even see the icon on the map as it was covered by the LSC icon.

Ahh wasn't aware you can only have one garage. That surprises me. May as well keep saving up and get a nice one.
It's worth it to toss 25K into a cheap 2 car garage. Free repairs and tags on cars you park there. Plus it works as a safehouse of sorts.

And wiki says half of the cost of your old property is put toward the cost of your new one. So only would be losing $12.5k when you upgrade later.

Officially a Gold Member again. Why do I sound like an Austin Powers character? Anyway. I may hop in for some GTA Online with you guys.

fixed
He's not on my friend list. He's part of our PS3 crew though. Crew or friends show up as blue glows, I believe.

Gonna add you though, Igoramus.
I think friends show up as blue and crew show up as the color of the crew (and FFAM is blue)

Ouch, depreciation. I heard you get some back when you buy a new property, was hoping for more than 50% though.

One of the guys I run with was telling me about a player that invited him to his apt and he had strippers there and stuff. Said it was like 2.7 mill. Must only be open to higher levels as when I was shopping for a place 400k was the most expensive.

Do you absolutely need a headset for online?
no, you can text each other through the in game phone. I've been playing without one but I ordered one online after my first night playing and have had several moments of frustration that I couldn't communicate plans more swiftly. So, not needed but highly recommended.

Anyone get refused service at Los Santos Customs because the car was "too hot"?

I finally found my favorite car online: the Infernus. I jacked it and beelined for the closest Customs shop to make it my personal car. But when I got there, they refused me.

Do you have to own your own garage to make it your personalized car?
Followup on this. I jacked a corvette (whatever the name is) and tried to park it in my garage. No go. It refused to accept it, and directed me to buy high end cars online.

<_<

Nice. I wouldn't mind an apartment with a four car garage.

Bones said you can watch crew members play on your TV. Sounds like a nice way to kick back when you want to text people without getting shot.

Just made Rank 15 and got access to grenades.

I think this opened up a major plateau of gameplay too. I was free roaming when I saw that someone had a $7K bounty on them. I immediately beeline for the guy.....when I notice he's zipping across the map REALLY fast....across roads.

So I figure he's jacked a helicopter. But he's going real fast...

Then I hear a ROOOOOOOOOOARRR and look up to see a military jet zoom by. A second later I hear an enormous explosion and notice a white blip on my map is GONE.

Dude was tearing across Los Santoes rocketing everyone who tried to collect the bounty. :lmao:

I decided to pass and drove off in the other direction.

It let me keep the Porsche (or whatever), but not the Lambo.

The more I play, the more I wish I had one and everyone under 21 DIDN'T have one. I had to listen to some d-bag calling people f-ggots while crunching doritoes into his mic...until I figured out how to mute him.

But it'd come in real handy when coordinating with crew members. Especially when hunting or setting up jobs.

:goodposting: On both counts. For guys like me that don't know WTF we're doing, having voice comms is great. I need to figure out the mute function though because listening to a bunch of 12-year-old white kids constantly call each other en-eye-double-gee-ay makes me want to blast somebody in the face with a real shotgun.

Hit START.

"Online"

"Players"

A player list will appear. Look for the ones who flash a wireless broadcast icon when someone speaks. It's them. Click their name and select "toggle mute."

You can also vote to kick them this way too.

What happens if you put it in your garage and it becomes a personal car? Can you then take it in and sell it or modify it?

Nevermind, my reading comprehension was down for a moment.

Is there a ps3 crew? If so how can I get an invite? My psn id is colin315, rockstar social club id is noswad315. I'm gonna give online play a go tonight.

That's the problem. The game refuses to let you put high end stolen cars in your garage.

So freaking stupid.

ETA: the game is stupid, not you. The effing title is GRAND THEFT AUTO for cripes sake.

There is. I think Bonesman is the head of it, though he's formed his own crew?

I don't know. I'll add you to my friends list.

I guess this is their version of "in-app purchases". Still, you can still get a very solid car as your main vehicle. For instance, I traded in my Vapid something or another (classic muscle car with #### handling) for a Lampadati Felon, which is barely below the super cars, IMO.
