**Official** Hell on Wheels (1 Viewer)

Really enjoying this season.. It is difficult to take a hated person on a show and make him not as hated..

But they have made we actually start to like Durrant now thanks to the Governor and Durrant's handling of Eva's situation.

One thing I wish they would just finish with is the Elam story.. Either finish him off or find him.. Dragging it out way too long IMO.
Yeah I'm guessing he'll be back. Taken in by an Indian tribe or something.
:goodposting:

I have a crapload on the DVR...was debating on whether to stick with this one....Based on this thread, I'll check the season out...

I really like this show but this episode with Elam and the indians may be the worst episode of anything I have ever seen. That was really bad.

Common? Come on, call him Elam in this thread. I had to google Common to figure out who the hell you were talking about :getoffmylawn:

Elam will be back next season, I assume. Like someone else said, rescued by Indians.

not quite caught up, but there's a lot to llike about this season and some moments of not so greatnees

I love Naomi.

hated how "the swede" went down. The guy has always been a litlle smarter than he is crazy, and it seems the crazy took over. He never should have fallen for that. At most, it should have raised some doubts. The Swede is a great villain. No character this side of The Joker is as callously and randomly evil as that guy.

I guess you didn't see yesterday's episode.

Tonights episode...wow. This show just keeps getting better.
Liked the show, didn't like the fact that we spent all season wondering "what happened to Elam" only to have them kill him off after 2 shows..

Could have played it out and made last nights show the finale and it would have been a perfect ending to a good season..

Exactly. If this was all they had in store for Elam, better to have just left him dead in the last season.

I disagree. I loved that they killed him off to be honest. Particularly at the hand of Cullen. It also doesn't mess with the current arc the show is on, but it does provide closure to the Elam storyline.

I really like this show...but have to agree with someone else about the way they took down the Swede.

I hate the ******* but come on...that entire scene that Cullen was talking and baiting him to admit he killed the guy in the river...ugh.

It felt like a Bugs Bunny routine..."It's Duck Season...It's Rabbit Season..."

I kept waiting on Cullent to look at the camera as he rode off and say, "Ain't I a stinka?!"

Solid season so far. Why is there a break for only 3 more episodes?

I think they spent too much time on the kid dying. He wasn't that big of a character on the show. I fast-forwarded through the funeral scene. And the over dramatic music and camerawork when the church lady shot Snow had me burst out laughing. A little much, imo.

I guess they got rid of the kid to not have to go with the storyline of having him recognize the Swede when he comes back. They probably wanted to go a different way.

Good season love the peformances

a few nits to pick

-- Eva - they should have written this character out when Common decided to leave...maybe give these two characters a happy ending instead of alewyas being so bleak

-- They seem to rely on strongly emotionally manipulative events to drive the drama. Great shows can make the minutia riveting. We can see a whole season of Breaking Bad with only a couple of murders rather then 3 murders an episode.

I didn't realize season 4 started. Just finished season three. I'll get caught up and offer minimal insight into the show.

Very good season.. Still <_< that they took a month off when they only had 3 episodes left.,, Any ways..

The removal of the Sidney's leg last night is easily one of the most disturbing scenes I've ever watched on TV..

Heck I'd have a heck of time NOT placing it in the top 5 of disturbing scenes of all time even if I compared it to R rated Horror flicks.. I actually found myself looking away at points and just waiting for it to end..

Not to mention the bar scene and the Removal of the guys eye

Cullen has become the "Undertaker" of Wyoming.. He buried Elam, the Little boy and now Sidney..

Yeah, that was pretty brutal watching the amputation. The eye removal was a little over the top though.

I have not watched any of this show, like literally not more than 10 seconds, until a couple nights ago.

After a few minutes worth of the leg amputation, looking at that girl with what I thought was food on her mouth but it's apparently a tattoo or something, and that street fighting Jason Statham look alike guy making that other guy his ##### AND tearing his eye out saying "I don't work for you" or whatever it was to the guy telling him to stop...............I think I just might like this ####### show.

The girl with the tattoo was taken by Indians and marked as property.

I like it slightly more now.

Overall it's a good season, but i just can't get past all of the logic gaps
I think it's a show that needs to be binge watched. The storyline is very linear and when you have these months long gaps it just doesn't resonate as well IMO.
While I like the show, I don't think it's something I could sit through multiple episodes in one sitting. An episode here or there is good enough for me. Then again, I'm not much of a binge watcher on any shows. I like to let episodes sink in a little.

Somehow I doubt the governor will make it through this week's season finale. The actor and character are good on the show.

Not a great season so far but still worth watching, imo. The mid-season finale was really good and hopefully sets up for a great second half.

Gundersen!!!

Enjoyed the "Half season".. Kind of ticked me off seeing "Mid-season Finale" only to learn it isn't back until 2016.. Usually don't take a 6 month break after a mid-season Finale

I looked into Brigham Young to see if there was any accuracy about his son stabbing him and wiki doesn't have anything on it. Any truth to it?

btw - he had 56 children.

I have about 4 of these stacked on the DVR...I guess they can wait a bit if it'll be a year

They should have written Eva out of this thing when Common left the show. They could have settled down somewhere and have that just be the end of him, instead of having that silly two episode arc with crazy Elam and then having a useless character collecting a paycheck for the next 3 seasons.

The show has been good, not great. The overall arc leaves a bit to be desired, as all of the show runner changes kind of messed with the direction.

Eva became a big storyline this season. She had some good scenes.
I am a fan of Eva's arc. Not a huge fan of Gunderson, his entire story after season 1 seems terribly contrived.
Yup- remind me of the show Heroes where they had a good season one villain who ran his course, but the writers couldn't bear to let him go. Though at least Cullen seems to be in on the absurdity of it in this show- every time Gunderson predictably pops up at the beginning of the season he just sort of rolls his eyes.

Started this on Netflix. Almost done with season 2. GF and I both like it.

Some story lines are a little tired though. Stupid Ruth.

Wow this season was a steaming pile of crap. So boring.
It wasn't great for a lot of the first half, but I think it's intentional but the second half always makes up for it.

Still a fan.

Cullen should be Batman
I may be done. Gunderson storyline has run its course. So has Cullen-Durant feud. So has Eva's. It's just boring as hell.

You made it through half of the final season and NOW you might be done??

I agree on the Gunderson storyline.. He should have been dead on the Bridge hanging.. But have no idea how you could quit watching when the final battle is near..

The problem with splitting the last season up into two truncated seasons is that it feels like I haven't seen an episode in 3 years. I like the show but frankly I had forgotten about it.
:goodposting:

This was a terrible decision by AMC.  I'm not nearly invested in it anymore as I once was.  I mean, if the network is going to basically wash it's hands of the show and not give a ####, why should I?

ETA: Of course, I'll still watch it but only because I was reminded here.

I understand a show needs an antagonist, but the Swede..   oops... sorry... Norwegian, should have been dead long ago.. Glad to finally have that story-line finished :bye:

Even though that story-line had gone beyond stale, this episode was very good, just should have happened a season or two ago.

Looking forward to the conclusion of what has been a very hood series

I still really like this series, but tonights storyline was unrealistic.

Even Ben Cartwright would have ended the Swedes life right there at the river.
