Scouting Report: Jonathan GoddardVital StatisticsPosition: DE School: MarshallHeight: 6-0 Weight: 245 lbs.Goddard exploded in his senior season of 2004 with 82 tackles, 28.5 for a loss, 16 sacks, one pick, and three fumbles recovered. This was an improvement over his 2003 season when he led the team with 20.5 tackles for a loss, and tied for the team lead with 6.5 sacks. Goddard has good speed, impressive closing ability and gets off the line as quick as anybody. A very instinctive athlete, he is a factor in every aspect of the defensive game and forces opposing teams to know where he is at all times. He is quite undersized for defensive end, both in terms of height and weight, and he will be a liability against the run in the NFL. Goddard is a hard worker with tremendous pass rush skills that will get him noticed on draft day. However, his best success in the pros may come in a 3-4 scheme as a situational pass rusher or outside linebacker.
