I will keep rocking all the reds until it's over.  never say die.  give 110%.  one game at a time.  curl and drag.  leave it all out on the ice.  hockey play.  it's a new season.  heart of a champion.  it is what it is.  puck luck.  attendance banners.

Hold on here. If there is any "booking" of it to be done, Sheriff will take care of it. Leave this type of work to the pros.

Interesting tidbit from NHL Network radio today, in light of last night's Caps-Pens game ... only three of the top 16 CF% teams from the regular season still are playing, with the Caps being one of them (Pittsburgh is 16th, Nashville being the other).

Make of that as you will.

CF% is almost irrelevant in most playoff series

CDT has far more weight this time of year.  Interestingly enough, the Caps are far and away the leaders in CDT as well.

I guess that was the point ... for all of the advanced stats the Caps dominated during the regular season, it's doing them a fat lot of no good when they can't hit the net and they can't get past Fleury the ones that do.

This is going to work!

The bottom 6 haven't been very productive, so might be best to spread the wealth.

  • Line 1: 11G/16A
  • Line 2: 9G/14A
  • Line 3: 3G/5A
  • Line 4: 0G/0A
Tom Wilson is the only bottom 6 forward with a goal (he has 3).

I wouldn't mind seeing some major line reshuffling.

Or maybe they are going 7 D again and Ovechkin will double shift.

The stats of the bottom 6 are pretty bad, but here's another ugly stat: Nate Schmidt is the only + Caps this postseason. He's a +6 in 8 games. Carlson, Williams, Burakovsky, and Carey (in 5:40 of action) are all even. Everyone else is in the negative with Orpik at -7.

I'm staying positive, though! We got this, boys! Three in a row! Major Pens collapse coming up!

And just like that, the Pens are back to being favored over the field to win the East (2:3) and better than 2:1 to take the Cup (11:5).  :pickle:

You're kidding. Sure it does. 

And Thompson should have gotten a double minor for that hit. But that doesn't disqualify that Lucic first hooked and then held him on a clean breakaway.

Craig Simpson disagrees with you, but what does he know. It's not like he played in the NHL or anything.
