There are three post-LOST projects going on. 1 each on NBC, CBS, and Fox.
Odd Jobs
Terry O'Quinn and
Michael Emerson reunite to star in this NBC comedic drama. It will be produced and directed by J. J. Abrams, with Bryan Burk as executive producer. It has been picked up as a currently untitled pilot which was written for Warner Brothers TV and is to be aired on NBC with the possibility of a season pick up. It has been billed as an hour long drama.
Emerson and O'Quinn will portray former black-ops agents who are now "retired" and work odd missions (or "jobs") to pass the time. The Associate Press said that the show focuses on "the age and frailty of the actors." ABC bid heavily for it but were eventually outbid by NBC.
The show will be run by frequent J. J. Abrams collaborators Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum, the two worked with Abrams on Alias.
Despite being picked up by NBC, further development of the show has been postponed. Michael Emerson has since joined the pilot of a different J.J. Abrams pilot,
Person of Interest.
Person of Interest
There's no island involved, but
Michael Emerson is about to get mysterious again -- for JJ Abrams.
The "LOST" star, who played the dark and malicious Ben Linus on the legendary TV series, has been cast in one of Abrams' several new pilots, a crime-fighting show called "Person of Interest" on CBS. And Emerson has perhaps the most interesting role.
According to Deadline.com, Emerson will play a mysterious billionaire who helps an ex-CIA agent, presumed dead, to fight crime in New York City. Ironically, this role comes about because another Emerson and Abrams project, a show pilot called "Odd Jobs," has been pushed back.
Alcatraz
Alcatraz is an American television pilot and broadcast on the FOX network, set to star
Jorge Garcia and Sarah Jones. Bad Robot Productions will produce the pilot episode, which is based on a screenplay by Elizabeth Sarnoff, Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt.
Alcatraz follows Rebecca Madsen, a police officer (Sarah Jones), and Dr. Diego Soto, a "hippy geek" who is the world's foremost expert on Alcatraz (Jorge Garcia). Both will investigate the reappearance of twenty wardens and prisoners of Alcatraz in modern day, after their mysterious disappearance fifty years ago.
