Still need to find out who Jack's ex is.
Shannon:thumbup:
Juliette... too easy?
I like this guess. Most people have probably forgotten Juliette was jonsing for Jack rather badly for quite awhile pre-Sawyer.
:no:There hasn't been much rhyme or reason so far; why start now? Charlotte wasn't after Sawyer and yet ...Plus, Juliet is in "V" :P
The scene would be in LA, not Hawaii. Wouldn't be difficult to borrow her for some scenes if they wanted to I would think.

And where Jack asked Jacob if he will grow old while performing the job or will it take centuries, or can he leave the island like Jacob did when he was recruiting candidates?
I think Jack figured out when Jacob told him that he'd do this job as long as he could that this would be the last job he was ever going to have. I don't think we're ever going to learn how Jacob was able to leave the island (major question that was posed week that shouldn't have been) but I'm fine with this explanation as far as Jack realizing he now is part of the island and whatever world existed for him before has now ceased to exist. It's been his destiny all along.
Yeah, and that ties in nicely to the recurring theme from the very beginning of the give and take between Locke and Jack and the Man of Faith/Man of Science. Locke spent so much time trying to convince Jack that they were there for a reason. Turns out the reason is to each play the main roles in the endgame of this centuries old conflict between Jacob and MIB. Looking forward to the finale.Soooo, what do we suppose is Richard's fate?

There are several concerts:

Pierre Chang's museum (???)

The Whidmore shindig (Driveshaft)

Jack's kid's concert (Jack's kid)

With the dress Kate was going to wear, I think we can rule out a Drive Shaft concert. Unless druggie Charlie plays in halls and uses an acoustic rather than a hard sound.

 I am so glad I stayed out of this thread after all of the intense whining started.Mario Kart is a fanboy and has some unique ideas sometimes, but are people actually saying that smokey/MIB going after Keamey's team is in any way a whole in the writing. Let's inspect it a bit:1. Keamey's team was WIDMORE'S team, i.e. the same guy MIB is in direct conflict right now. Gee, hmm, kind of makes sense that he would go after his arch enemy's team.2. Ben was manipulated by MIB to KILL JACOB. Gee, hmm, kind of makes sense that MIB would help the same guy he plans to use to help him kill his other arch enemy.Seriously people, think a little bit before just complaining all the time. Even if you argue about Ben summoning him, we have seen that the Others had security fences, so it seems reasonable that Ben would have to let him in somehow to have him help.
Bugs, you are implying that this ties up neatly - and I am not sure it does - it may tie up but loosely at best.If MIB wanted Widmore's group gone why wait until they are attacking Ben? He had would have had plenty of opportunities.
Nope, not implying it ties it up nicely. I don't know exactly what MIB was thinking at every turn. What I am trying to say is that in a couple seconds I was able to come up with reasonable explanations for things people were talking about as not making sense at all. Also, for your question, don't forget that MIB's #1 goal was to kill Jacob. Widmore, Ben, Locke, Jack, etc. were all meaningless except to get Jacob killed. If Ben, who MIB was grooming to kill Jacob, wanted help from MIB after Alex is killed, do you think MIB would help him? Of course he would and now he also has the image of Alex, which MIB used, to keep Ben on the path to kill Jacob. So, attacking Widmore's team after killing Alex was actually instrumental to MIB's plan since he used the image of Alex to accomplish his plan. Make sense now?
Great explanation, bugs - but I think it's a little much for the writers to expect the veiwers to put that together on a casual watch - plus who knows if it's even right? Kudos to you for thinking it through.
Well, the writers spelled it right out tonight that Ben didn't summon MIB, MIB summoned Ben (i.e. was controlling him along with real-Locke and anyone else he needed). So, no need to expect viewers to put it together casually.

IIRC, Charlie was going to accompany Daniel Ferriday during the concert. It wasn't a DS concert.

I have literally zero expectation that the finale will be any good. I am just hoping that there are snippets of the old Lost in it, enough to keep me intrigued for the entire 2-1/2 hours. Because honestly I am no longer intrigued. This season sucked the life right out of me. The writing has been complete and total crap, it was almost like the first 4 seasons were a mirage.

Desmond's job was to get Charlie to the concert for Faraday, so it seems like it may all be the same one. From the earlier shows, Jack's son was a pretty accomplished pianist (I think it was a piano), so not a stretch that he would somehow be involved. If that is the case we could have Widmore, Eloise, Faraday, Charlie, Desmond, Jack, Claire (as a tag along since she is living with them), Hurley, Kate, Miles, Sawyer (?), Charlotte and who else?Doesn't surpirise me as maybe this concert is where the they all finally realize what Dez, Hurley, Libby and Charlie already have seen.

Nice Ana-Lucia cameo. "Do I know you, Tubby?"
Hurley knew Ana though. I can't remember but do we know that Desmond told Hurley some things on camera or when did those two meet before? It appears Hurley "knows" of the other timeline.
I think after Hurley had kissed Libby, then he became completely aware of the real timeline
Okay, that makes sense.

 have fun buying the DVD's and rewatching all six great seasons.

Okay, that makes sense.
They showed that during their picnic on the beach. He flashed like Dez did when Charlie drove him into the water.

Whoever said the emperor has no clothes was dead on. They did a great job creating a mystery out of nothing, keeping people interested, but now that we are at the end, the story is no longer interesting and many of us have forgotten what we wanted to know in the first place.

You're on your own island with that one.

I love the cheesy explanation of why Kate's name was crossed out. "You became a mother, it's just chalk, you can erase it, you can still be the one"

That was so bad, it's laughable. Not laughable that I am six years into this show but laughable like a line out of a bad Ben Affleck movie.

I can see both sides of it. Why people would like it and why people would not.

I am looking forward to the finale

Oh yeah, forgot I wanted to mention that one. Maybe that's why you can't have children on the island? He didn't want the island's protector to be a mother (though it still seems to be possible... choice) so since he's drawing candidates to the island he doesn't want them to become mothers and be crossed off? Seems a little rough though.

Worked for me. Whoever was to replace Jacob had to have no meaningful ties to the real world. When Kate adopted Aaron that gave her a connection and in Jacob's mind that made her less desirable as a candidate. That explanation didn't bother me at all.

The Ben 180 was abrubt but interesting. Grave of daughter then face to face with widmore. Was surprised at his quick snap, but not all that crazy in retro.

Also liked the sawyer realization/remorse. Good writing there.

Also there's that fact that a mother could force a child into being the next protector and he didn't want that to happen again to someone else.

Makes complete sense to me as well. Carrying it further, the Kwon had to have been Jin and not Sun.

They're also removing all of the secondary characters and leaving only the primary ones. As interesting as Richard and Widmore may have been, their fates aren't as important in my opinion so removing them in order to place the focus squarely on the survivors is smart writing. Even Jacob said we'd never see him again.

It's just lazy writing, no thought put into it at all. If you are satisfied with that, you have very low expectations.

Many of you?I think you will find you are in a very small minority.

The concert they are going to is the one that Eloise Hawking was setting up for. Faraday wants Desmond to bring them all there.

And, what kind of explanation would make it expert, Tolstoy esque, type of writing for a one hour television show? Please, indulge us while we sit and laugh at your "lazy writing" card you have played all season.

You can stop trolling now. Maybe you just have low comprehension skills.

Was sure the episode was going to end with a shot of the fire going out.

Kwon not crossed off though... hmmm.
No, but, Jin never knew his daughter nor was his daughter on the island so he could not pass off the job to her at any point. Sun was off the island and did raise the daughter a little bit. So, the name "Kwon" was meant for Jin rather than Sun as a possible candidate.

Serious spoilers are now out for next week's episode.

I wonder what Desmond's trying to accomplish though.

Even if he gets them all together, does he try to convince them that they're on the wrong timeline, then what?

How does that tie in? Was the island actually destroyed / light put out there the way Locke wants to do in the main timeline?

Maybe that timeline will end with them somehow restoring the destroyed light / island?
Good question that I posed earlier - I can't see where it's going. So how did Ben kill Widmore? I thought he couldn't?
