**** OFFICIAL **** LOST - The TV Series (4 Viewers)

not sure about J5
J is the 10th letter. 10+5=15But I think these are just coincidi.
I got it......the letters GJ on the license plate are reversed...they actually stand for Justin Guarini from American Idol who was runner up to Kelly Clarkson (reversed being CK) which are the first letters in Charlie (Jack now but used to be Charlie on Party of Five) and Kate......which means.............nothing.

I think Walt is dead. Only dead people have "appeared" on the island (Jack's dad) and check out the photo on ABC's site for this season. Walt is not there!

Well obviously he's not in the photo. The Others kidnapped him. What do you think they're going to say, "Yeah, we got the kid we want to rule over the island, but we'll let you have him back to take promotional photographs."Please.
Ah did you notice they have the new girl in the photo though. Walt will not be on this season and he is dead.
Seriously, this is big, I think. Isn't that the girl that Jack was talking to in the Lounge before the flight? she went to sit in the TAIL??!?!?!No one else think this is super weird?
Is it still May?

Regarding the girl that Jack met in the Lounge last season...

I read on this thread...either linked or "hidden" that she is in a group of survivors that were in the back of the plane are on another part of the island.

I was surprised at the lack of reaction to that info.

Not until you can link them to Kevin Bacon anyway.

Yeah, that is her. Since Adebisi from Oz is also going to be on the show this season I'm thinking that new characters will be introduced almost every episode.Could Adebisi be the black lady's husband who was also in the tail section?
Speaking of, where the hell has she been?

Is there any way to limit the responses in this thread to people that have seen a majority of Season 1?

Could Adebisi be the black lady's husband who was also in the tail section?
This is a good guess.
I also think it's likely...they went out of their way during the recap episode to show the black lady saying "he's not dead" again. No reason to put that in the recap unless you are going to bring the dude back, it isn't central to anything else.

Nah, more likely he was on board the heroin plane.Edit to add: That woman would never marry Oz. Now, as a drug dealer.....

I believe Hugo would eat Bacon.....does that count?

I think we should restrict it to people who have seen every season 1 episode in the last 4 days. :excited:

I watched it all in the past week, some parts several times :bag: One thing I caught was if you enable the CC on the DVD you can see what the whispers were and what Boone heard on the drug runners airplane radio.

"We are the survivors of flight 815"

:blackdot: All the discussion adds to my enjoyment of the show.Whether or not it is true, Jack believes that it is the same Desmond in the bunker. Whoever is in the bunker has been there for a while and is in there on purpose. If you stumbled onto a bunker you wouldn't start injecting yourself with whatever drugs were in the cabinet.I don't think the opening scene was a flashback mostly due to the washer/dryer. It was certainly odd that he hadn't updated to CD but there was one shot of the washer/dryer close up and I don't beleive the producers would have accidently put brand new appliances in the bunker when they went to such great lenghts with the other features.Lastly was the bunker guy exerciseing at 16 mph?

Here's some more infor for you geeks to decipher.

backwards sounds like "Press the button, when no one is there"

Stole this from another board so take it for whatys its worth
This might have been covered in the tons of pages between where I am now and the current end of the thread... but I'm getting pretty annoyed at all the "other board" stuff being brought in here. I liked it in season 1 when we were a bunch of dorks trying to figure stuff out, with an occasional spoiler in white text that we could ignore if we wanted to. Now it's more like professional investigators getting tha answers from another site first and shouting them out in here.I don't mean to pick on you specifically, EZD - this was just the post I was at when the buildup got to me.

I don't really think your analogy is very good.

Is the first season out on dvd?
Yes. It came out a week or two ago.Another popular theory going around on other sites is known as the Genetic Mirror Theory. Here is the concept started with this post . . .

I recently found an interesting natuarlly occuring thoery found in our world that states everyone has a mirror image somewhere in the world. You may have heard of this. Its called Roussau's genetic mirror theory, and I must say it is very interesting. Roussau's genetic mirror theory says that everyone in the world has an exact twin somewhere, however according to the theory you never encounter this person, by laws of probablitly and other natuaral occuring phemnomen. Its the theory that was devised by a French Mathematician named Marseille Roussau in the year 1988. He used a series of numbers to explain his theory. Now I know you're not going to believe this but here goes.

4 8 15 16 23 42

Let me explain...

The 4 stands for 4 degrees of separation (not 6 or 7 as commonly stated.) Roussau believed that everyone in the world was connected by four different people. So in theory could meet yourself by using four different people connected to you. Example: Your brother's, boss's, neighbor nephew, knows your mirror. Hard to believe, I know but keep reading.

The 8 stands for the eight continent, or the only place in the world where you could meet your mirror. He calculated it to be somewhere in the south pacific. Now we know its not actually as large as the other contintents but its used figurtively because everyone in all 7 continents could meet there mirror on the 8th universal continent.

The 15 stands for the chances of you acually meeting yourself on this place, as in 15 out of 4,815,162,342. Look at the second set "815." Ring any bells? Interesting huh?

The 16 stands for the maximum amount of people that could encounter thier twin all at the same time. Think about the number of main characters.

The 23 is the number of years apart your twin and yourself are. You are not the same age as your twin. By chance and probablity it takes 23 years exactly for the same genes that made you to be connected again to form another you.

The 42 stands for the maximimum number of years your twin and yourself can be alive at the same time. However people do die at diffferent times so thats why everyone isn't dead at 75. For example my twin was born on Sept. 6 2003 b/c i was born on Spet. 6 1980. Now that doesn't mean i will die in the year 2045, I could, but its not set in stone. My twin could die when he is 16, and then the whole thing starts over again.

This is all very complicated and I don't know how well I explained it but the connections with the show are too coinidental to not be real.

Roussau and his team (wife, included) went to the 8th continent. You can figure out how they died and why by the numbers and equations. It also fits with every character. You can predict when they will die. There are others on the island who are twins of the survivors, but have been there 23 years longer.

There is a book Roussau wrote 16 years ago in 1988 when he came up with the theory. Thats where I got it from.
LINKThe theory fits with the show, but no one apparently has been able to produce the book that allegedly is the primary focus for this explanation.
Looks like a bunch of crap to me, like someone just made that all up.
shuke has a good BS detector.

This can't be a coincidence.
Ever heard of chances being expressed as "you only have a 15 in 4 million chance"? It's always expressed as 1 in X chance. This is a bunch of crap made up by someone.

By Monday no one will care about this thread, and then on Wednesday less than 50% of the posters will be back. Let us :nerd:s have our fun.

The whispers:Sayid in the Jungle From "Solitary"Man's voice-Just let him get out of hereMan's voice-He's seen too much alreadyMan's voice-What if he tells Woman's voice-Could just speak to him Man's voice-No Sawyer in the jungle From "Outlaws"Woman's voice-Maybe we should just talk to him Man's voice-No if he see us it will ruin everythingMan's voice-What did he seeWoman's voice-They could help us Man's voice-Can't trustMan's voice-Come back around (Sawyer pauses, crickets and cicada are heard)Man's voice-What did he seeMan's voice-Nothing he was following itWoman's voice-SpeakMan's voice-NothingFrank Duckett's voice-It'll come back around The one connection I made out of Sawyers "whispers" is the man(Duckett) he killed said "It'll come back around"I am wondering what the whispers Shannon heard said.

And speaking of the boat... if memory serves me correctly, there were four or five people on the boat that took Walt.  At least one was a woman.  Did she not have a French accent?  I don't remember if we could see any of the faces of the people that were deeper in the boat.
There were four people. The old guy that spoke, the girl who was driving and threw the explosives, and then the two younger guys who fought off Sawyer and Michael. The only one that spoke was the old guy.
I'm sure I'm hondaing up this thead, but that's fine with me...The two guys appear to be twins.

I didn't want to say anything because I didn't know how it worked, but it would be really cool if we could leave "other board" stuff on, say, other boards.
The problem with the "other boards" is that they're flooded with the same idiots that frequent the Shark Pool. Everyone knows that the FFA has weeded out the meak and we can have some intelligent conversations with some people with more than half a brain.

What if the "explosion" in the opening scene wasn't the hatch being blown up, but the plane crashing a few months before? That could be why he's dirty when they go down there. It knocked out some of his facilities?
Interesting, but I don't think so. When they show him use his periscope/mirror contraption the last mirror is broken at the base of the hatch. Then when Kate and Jack descend the hatch the mirror is right there. I would think he'd have fixed it ASAP if it happened a month ago.
I could be remembering it wrong, but I thought we got to follow his sight as it bounced off of mirrors and up to Locke at the top of the hatch. Seemed pretty clear to me that we saw his reaction to the explosion of the hatch blowing off.

What if......The Island is growing?I'm not a physics expert, but if we are assuming there is a magnet that can be used to pull planes out of the sky, is it super far fetched to think it could be pushing the ocean away? Tides are controlled by magnetic forces, no? If there is a "project" of some kind of growing an 8th continent...wouldn't that explain the Black Rock? Perhaps originally it wasn't 5 KMs inland.....perhaps it was originally docked? For the record, I'm not endorsing this theory, just thinking outloud,........ but I do reserve the right to claim it as mine IF it turns out to be true. However, there is still NO question that there will be an eventual link between Locke and Sarah's legs. None. :banned:

Intelligent Conversation

During the "scenes for next week" for me that was actually just more shots from the first episode, the overvoice said something about "next week -- find out what happens to everyone on the island."  or some such sweeping generalization.  After it happened, my wife and I looked at each other confused -- it sounded like next week could have been the grand finale.

I know it won't be, but I thought it was kind of a strange remark to make after the first episode of the season.
The previews seem to sound that way every week...My Theory: (possibly construed as a spoiler - BEWARE)

The Desmond dude talked about "miracles" and then low and behold Jack's patient was healed... Maybe he was brought to the Island and abducted the same way Walt was brought to the island and abducted because of his "powers". And Desmond was hiding from the others in the bunker?
Nothing about this? Pure Genius...At least someone give me a "you're Effin nuts..."
I like it.

I disagree. A lot of interesting stuff from 'other boards' sparked a bunch of discussion in season one. Your idea that we all sat around and tried to figure it out ourselves lasted till about week five when more places began to get more and more info together.Nothing from another board has spoiled any scenes or shows from me. Mostly just BS that is interesting to discuss.

I encourage people to keep bringing stuff over here. We all can't hit 1500 Lost boards every day. That's what makes this thread fun.

Just an fyi that according to IMDB, Jolene Blalock is making a guest appearance as "Nikki" in next week's episode.
If they take us away from the survivors we know for a long block of episodes to start over with the other half of the plane, I'm going to laugh my ### off.
