Official Matt Ryan Replacement Thread (1 Viewer)

If for some odd reason i pull one out, ill start Colin k. Doubt I get there thanks to his stink fest. Never again will i draft this guy. If he can't get it done with julio, roddy, and gonzo hell never get it done.

It's a two week playoff matchup for me but I've got to roll with Ryan next week as well. 2 qb league so it's him or Sanchez. :sadbanana:

Mentioned this in the game thread, rolling out Kaep from here on out. At least he's sort of a hedge with his running ability. I'm at the point where I just don't trust Ryan anymore, and you can't start non-trusted players in playoff matchups. Not that Kaep is "trustworthy," but Ryan is just a liability lately.

Flacco is my backup, and Locker is available. But it won't matter, with both Ryan and Julio on my team, I doubt I'll need to worry about it.

"upgraded" to Ryan four or five weeks ago. Still waiting for it to make a differance for me in a good way. Today wasn't a killer, but it sure didn't make a differance either.

Likely won't be this year now.

Reactions like these are what knock teams out of the playoffs. I love that everyone is panicking and sitting Ryan while he stays in my lineup and scores 25+ points. Not sure about you, but I'd love for Ryan to play from behind for the next 2 games. But everyone, keep sitting him please.

Matt Ryan.
If he can't do anything against Carolina, what makes you think he will do anything against the Giants?
Because the Giants have been worse against the pass?
Carolina D ranked 12th vs pass. NYG D ranked 23rd. Yeah, looks like Ryan next week. But maybe Gomer. Since they play each other it's like a toss up except that ATL D is ranked 11th vs pass.Glad ATL lost. Hope they lose again in a shootout.

initially I was worried about this match up with the giants based on last year when they were destroyed in the playoffs. but the more I look at it I think Ryan will be fine. The difference between last years falcons and this years is the falcons cannot run the ball and they know it. they have passed a ton all year and will have to if they want to win. I would expect similar stats to what we saw this past week with the possibility of more TDs but also more turnovers. he should be a lock for 300+ and 2 TDs, this game with NY should be one of the higher scoring games this week

Not sure who your other options are, but you may want to look elsewhere. Giants were in absolute pimp, mack daddy mode today against brees and the saints. Actually, they have played really well the last three weeks against Rodgers, rg3 and Brees. Looks like the Gmen have again decided to turn it up on the Defensive end.

I lost this week but if I didn't id bench him next week. Giants are a bad bad matchup for him and that oline and he's been terrible at home. Giants shut down rodgers and brees this year. Ryan stands no chance.

And, if history repeats itself, this is when the Giants really start turning it on. With the Giants fighting to make the playoffs/win the NFC East, I am souring on the idea of throwing Ryan into my starting lineup against that.

Hard to believe you think Ryan stands no chance. Giant's D has been impressive lately, but Ryan's not chopped liver either. Big Ben's on the wire and faces Dallas. Not a great matchup either, but is this a viable Ryan replacement?

As a Giants homer, I'm predicting a shootout next week. Wouldn't be surprised with 2-3 sacks and an INT by Ryan, but he'll easily throw for 300+ 2-3 TDs.

Ryan scored 24 points in the league I have him in.

That's not terrible.

Lets say the Giants come out kicking their ### like they did last year. Do you think Ryan airs it out or they just pack up and head to their next game with an 11-3 record? My concern with starting Ryan is that they say, 'we don't need to win this game'. The Giants need to win, the Falcons don't necessarily.

Was glad they lost to Carolina or they may have mailed in the Giants game at 12-1.

And tony romo torched the G men twice this year in FF Scoring, so that must mean Romo is a better QB than brees or rodgers? From a FF perspective, Ryan has been better this year than any of those QB's. I'm starting Ryan with confidence. He's playing at home in ATL, they are coming off a loss and pushing to wrap up home field advantage for the playoffs. They will bring their A game for this match up.

Ya not sure why everyone's freaking out. Brees Rodgers Newton have equally disappointed some weeks.

not to mention you know they want revenge for playoffs last year. also if atlanta does beat the Giants they can really hurt their playoff chances

You don't watch the Giants play or know much about them at all do you? Sometimes you need to get your nose out of the stat book and open up your eyes. The Giants always struggle against division opponents. I'm not saying to bench Matt Ryan, but I wouldn't see any matchup as juicy against the Giants in December. You have to start your studs, but I wouldn't expect Ryan to have a huge game. Look at what the Giants just held Rodgers, RG3 and Brees to the last few weeks and expect something similar.

The packers wanted revenge as well. So did the Patriots in the super bowl last year.

Brees has been really bad for the past month.besides Rodgers 1 or 2 really huge games he has been almost ordinary. Newton has only been good the past few weeks. Rg3 is not really the type of quarterback that can take advantage of the Giants defense.all that said I don't expect Matt Ryan to go totally crazy here.I agree with the poster above that said 300 yards and a couple of touchdowns

It could be or it could mean that I know a lot about the team. I guess we'll find out.
