Sorry, but this is just ridiculous and unacceptable. A lot of us work in office environments and don't have administrative capabilities on our computers to use a browser plugin. What is to prevent somebody from posting a bunch of blue waffles. Sure they will get banned, but the damage could be significantly worse for somebody else who has that show up on their monitor at work. And you can always create an alias. I won't be visiting this site any more if this isn't fixed.

There is no longer a way to turn pictures completely off within the software. It's possible to block them using a browser plugin like AdBlock, or you can use the mobile version, which uses smaller/minimal images and less bandwidth overall.
Chrome and associated extensions can be installed without admin privileges... I'm just sayin'
IT won't install any browser other than IE, and only they can run install programs.
Does IE still have the option to turn off images on web pages? I know it used to. I don't use it anymore.
Yes.Tools->Internet Options->Advanced->uncheck Show Pictures.
Unless administrative rights limit this, I believe we have rascal's solution.
If IT does this, and it does at my work, then you would have to make the changes in IE each time because you would not be able to save any settings.

Here's another one for you Keith... On the old boards, the list of threads page differentiated between threads that have new posts vs threads that have new votes (poll threads). In this new version, a thread that has new votes but not new posts shows up as a "clickable star', and when I click the star, it goes to the last post (which I've already read).
Yeah, this is a really strange feature. Can't tell you how many times I've already been pump-faked into thinking there was a new post.

I've seen it mentioned, but nested quotes on Safari mobile get useless pretty quickly.

Example

Not sure if the spacing between the boxes that surround each quote can be decreased (lots of white space, especially o the right side).
:goodposting:
Bump
:goodposting: Threads with many nested quotes are basically unreadable on my iPhone.
Turn it sideways...?
And get kicked back out to the main menu.

Can anyone explain the meaning of the symbols next to the threads? Some have blue dots, others have blue dots with white stars. Seems the old board had a key at the bottom of the page.

Blue dots mean it's a thread with unread posts (or new thread all together). Blue/white star is the new :blackdot: , meaning that it's a thread you've posted in and it has a new unread post.

Trivial, I know, but it bugs me. Any workaround on your end?
I remembered there being a setting for "poll bump" where a new vote would cause a topic to be bumped to the top. I found that setting and verified that it was still off.

So I went and dug around on the Invision forums -- it looks like at some point, the Invision devs decided that a new vote (even without a post) counted as "new content" for some reason.

http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/352137-poll-new-vote-make-posts-as-unread/?hl=%2Bpoll+%2Bvote+%2Bunread

I'll file a ticket on this and see if that's official or just one guy rationalizing.
yeah, this one's annoying.

how do you cancel a reply with the quick reply? If I accidentally quote the wong post, I dont see a way to cancel the reply to start a new one, other then refreshing the thread.

And forget about browsing one-handed.If there's not a fix, there's not a fix. If there's a relatively easy tweak then I think enough people have voiced opinions on it to look into it.

Okay, I give up. On our phones, what's the secret to editing our posts and replying to other people's posts including their quote? I am able to post a new reply in an empty field with no problem, but when it comes to doing those other two things.... no dice.

click the text and the buttons show up-posted via razr maxx

Still trying to figure out how this is an "upgrade". This board has been buggy as hell since the switch.

MF - None of the fonts, smilie, size, or any of the other buttons are active when I post?
