**Official** Minnesota @ Green Bay MNF discussion thread (1 Viewer)

Jackson and Shiancoe are going to kill this team's potential, all year long. Mills dropping passes. Jackson.

Grant's going to be huge this year, I was tooootally wrong about him.

Positives.

-1st off, just because of the situation...Rodgers.

Handled himself excellent, played a very good game. That 3rd quarter of not seeing the ball hurt his numbers...but he did what he had to do to win. Very very very good start by him.

-2nd...any other time this would be my first one, maybe 2nd because of what is coming with #3. But the Dline played very well. Created pressure, did well on the runs up the middle.

-3rd...special teams. The big TD plus the punting game with the new punter (and people were worried) and the kickoff coverage was very good tonight. This might get overlooked by some outside of the punt return.

-Grant...the guy breaks one but even when not breaking them, he is always running hard.

-Defense overall...looks like they wore down a bit (were on the field most of the 3rd quarter after the stop, punt return, then back out there for a long drive). But they never let Peterson really break them and they held the pass game in check until late in the game.

-The block...not sure if it was Hall or Kuhn...but the FB block that knocked Sharper silly on Grant's long run.

Negatives

-Announcing...can we hear Favre's name one more damn time?

-Penalties...all over the damn place. On Tauscher, on Moll, on Colledge, on Spitz...just ugly at times. The Moll one was interesting...does a guy not have to be 5 yards down field? Because it was 3rd and 4, and he never made it past the first down line yet it was called.

-The playcalling to end the half. I thought they should have been more agressive to start the 2 minute drill as it was...then even more so when they got it down there.

For the Vikings...Jackson actually stepped up in the 2nd half and made it a game. They kept it closer than it probably should have been...helped by the penalties...but the defense held up at times in the first half and did not let it get away.

They really need to stick with what they were doing in the 3rd quarter though and control the ball. Need to go back and watch some old Titans games and watch how Fisher controls the clock.

I think coaching will be their downfall before Tarvaris will.

How was that not a horse collar? Bc he didnt do it fast?!
He did not just fall to the ground and pull down with all his weight. You can grab the back of the jersey like that...you just can't then drop all your weight and pull down on the guy.

Where the hell was grant? (and I dont own him)
I'd like to think that it was just McCarthy being overly conservative. I didn't see anything about of Brandon Jackson tonight that would worry me as a Grant owner.
Overly conservative with a 5 point lead?
The first 2 runs designed to get it to the 2 minute warning. The 3rd to make sure it gets there since the clock stopped after a penalty.I guess I was not sure of the rule, but why would the clock stop after a declined penalty though? I guess its a dead ball...but damn that sucked.

He also had ahold of him with his left hand, he didn't just drag him down by the collar.Come on guys this isn't that difficult of a call.

Merry Christmas Packers!!!!
Winner!!!!For Most Ignorant Post of the night.
Yeah, Packers were awesome tonight and deserved that win.
This might be a close second. No they weren't awesome, Yes they deserved to win, why wouldn't they?- The Packer D outplayed the Minn D.- Rodgers outplayed Jackson- Grant outplayed Peterson (At least in the 4th Qrtr when it counted)- The refs outplayed everyone.Take off your purple colored glasses son. You lost to a better team.

Can’t believe the negativity in this thread and I’m glad I wasn’t here to read most of it.

To my chagrin, I though Aaron Rodgers played very well. I actually saw a lot of progress from Jackson as well. He has much more poise in the pocket than I remembered. He wasn’t exactly Delhomme at the end of the game but he made some good decisions up until then.

:hey: Better and more awesome!!!!

dont like either team, had nobody playing for my teams.

that said, i was impressed with Rodgers. the GB defense was pretty good too.

T.Jackson looked ok, but he is still too inconsistent. i thought he did a good job of staying in the pocket and delivering the ball though. the minny defense didnt live up their billing tonite. for those who think minny is a SB contender, i'm thinkin they got a ways to go.

GB is still the team to beat in the NFC Norse.
