Scout.com has UCLA closing with:

Soso Jamabo (TX) - 5 star, #18 overall, #1 RB

Chris Clark (CT) - 5 star, #23 overall, #1 TE

Dechaun Holiday (CA) - 4 star, #76 overall, #11 CB (Committed)

Joseph Wicker (CA) - 4 star, #93 overall, #11 DT

Carlos Strickland (TX) - 4 star, #101 overall, #14 WR

Ryan Newsome (TX) - 4 star, #193 overall, #26 WR (Committed)

Cassius Peat (AZ) - 4 star, #166 overall, #16 DE (currently committed to UCLA, but was predicted flip to Arizona St. and now is predicted to stay with UCLA)

They are split between Oklahoma and UCLA for 4 star, #163 overall, #10 OG, Josh Wariboko, out of Oklahoma.

UCLA is a finalist for, but predicted to lose out on:

Iman Marshall (CA) - 5 star, #7 overall, #1 CB (Southern Cal)

Osa Masina (UT) - 5 star, #19 overall, #2 OLB (Southern Cal)

Roquan Smith (GA) - 4 star, #62 overall, #1 MLB (Georgia)

Benning Potoae (WA) - 4 star, #179 overall, #18 DE (Washington)

Tyrone Wheatley (NY) - 4 star, #279 overall, #25 DE (Michigan)

UCLA is also trying to flip the #1 OG in the country, Maea Teuhema (TX), from LSU. He's officially visiting UCLA this weekend.

247's crystal ball, which seems to be pretty suspect until the day of each announcement, concurs with most of the above, although they've got UCLA as the leader for Wariboko and Chris Clark going to Michigan.

If UCLA lands all five of the players Scout.com is predicting they land and also Wariboko, then most UCLA fans would be very happy. Add any of the guys who they are finalists for, particularly Marshall, Masina or Potoae (position of need), then UCLA fans can't really ask for much more. The class would pretty much fill all needs with excellent talent, particularly at QB, RB and OL/DL.
And, it's Washington for Potoae. Oh well. The Bruins could have used him. Nice get for the Huskies.

Osa Masina (most likely to Southern Cal) and Ryan Newsome (most likely to Texas) are up next on UCLA's board, both announcing tomorrow.
Masina's a Trojan. Again, not unexpected, but it's a larger blow to lose such a talent and to lose him to your rival. Great get for the Trojans.

Next one to go somewhere other than UCLA is Ryan Newsome from Texas who is expected to announce for Texas in a couple hours...His finalists are UCLA and Texas.
Newsome chose UCLA.

It's a huge surprise. Everything the UCLA people were hearing (and most didn't lend credence to it) was that he really wanted to go to UCLA, but that his family wanted him at Texas and that he'd pick Texas because of it. 247's crystal ball was 90% for Texas.

So, UCLA fans are pretty happy. He'll be the speedy slot receiver UCLA's been lacking the last few years.

Next up for UCLA is Carlos Strickland's announcement on Tuesday, January 27.
Strickland chose...Cal.

Up next for UCLA is a likely commitment from Dechaun Holiday (CA) - 4 star, #76 overall, #11 CB on Sunday, February 1.
Dechaun Holiday (CA) - 4 star, #76 overall, #11 CB committed to UCLA last night. He's a big pickup for UCLA as they need corners.

Up next are the signing day announcements - Chris Clark (5:30 a.m. PT - ESPN), Soso Jamabo (6:20 a.m. PT - ESPN), Josh Wariboko (8:05 a.m. PT - ESPN), Roquan Smith (8:20 a.m. PT - ESPN), Cordell Broadus (11:35 a.m. PT - ESPN), Iman Biggie Marshall (1:05 p.m. PT - ESPN), Joseph Wicker (1:10 p.m. PT - ESPN).
#1 TE Chris Clark to UCLA. #1 RB Soso Jamabo up next at 6:20 pt.
Cant blame Clark for wanting 70 degree weather and hot chicks.

Isaiah Prince to Buckeye Nation. This OL class is shaping up real nice. Warriner has made a solid line out of low star guys. Will be nice to see some legit studs in the mix.

Daylon Charlot, top 100 WR out of LA, chooses Alabama over LSU.

That was the one big one up in the air...other than an outside shot at Cece.

Yeah, we wanted him, but the writing has been on the wall for a while with him. Much more opportunity for playing time at Bama.

Looks like Leo Lewis is staying in Mississippi. That one hurts. No LB's in this class for LSU and only 2 last year. Still, LSU has another great class, currently number 3 on 247.

:porked:

KJ Hill to Ohio State (top 150 WR from Arkansas).
Yep, bout to post that.

Gibson confirms as well. With the Burrows kid from Athens, OH....the Buckeyes are loaded with young QBs.
Most in Arkansas hate to lose that kid.

There is something going on behind the scenes with his high school coach. It may not have had any impact on where he chose to go to school. But his coach - who has had a VERY good relationship with Bielema - is currently suspended and may end up having to resign. It's fuzzy about what he is alleged to have done at this point, but it will be interesting to see what comes of it. Again, not suggesting this has any relevance to KJ choosing OSU.

Agree. LSU needs dline and linebacker. I could care less about another top 100 WR.
Well Dillon looks like he's going to flip from Florida. Rough day for Florida.

Good info thanks.

Chris Ash also recruited him.

Damn. I think this cost us DB Willie Sykes from TX. We lost him to Arkansas last night, wonder if they knew they were going to have an extra spot with the QB defection.

Tennessee having a good day. Haven't lost any of the big names. Depth at both lines. Added three quarterbacks, which is crazy. And a 5* RB to pair with Hurd.

Despite announcing for #UCLA, LB Roquan Smith tells me he has not reached final decision, has not signed LOI.

It's a comedy of errors with recruiting these days.

Cowart's LOI has not been sent in to Auburn yet. Supposedly gave the LOI to his HS head coach, who hasn't sent it it. Same head coach has a brother on UF staff.
First it was guys like Clowny pushing there announcement dates back, and now we get top guys flip flopping after announcing on TV. some guys love attention.

TCU has the best shot to get in the playoffs in years, has a strong QB, a strong coach and still can't land a top 300 recruit.

I just don't get what has to happen to get the program on a solid recruiting footing.

Sounds like he reached a final decision and some people didn't like it and are trying to make his decision for him.

Don't know how some of you can even stomach reading college football boards, they are about equivalent to youtube video comments.
