Chizik calls Beniquez Brown at 5am begging for a commitment. ha.

He's officially a Dawg now. Mullen has finally shed that "can't recruit/close" monkey he's had on his back.

Should be a top 20 class.

Another one picked out of NC. This is really bizarre to watch given both UNC and NCSU are here. I don't know what these schools are looking for if not the talent in this state.
As I normally hear from Heels fans: "Who cares about football?"
There are other schools here though. I read an article saying the top 13 recruits in the state went out of state...that's unreal.

Sure, but there is not really a strong program in the state to attract them. Just a few bottom-dwellers in a very weak football conference. The games that potential recruits attend on campus are a pretty tame experience compared to what you get in the SEC or Big Ten. I can understand why top recruits choose to leave if they can, for now.

Stewart Mandel tweeting on Auburn:

RT @cubbies1967: @slmandel what is your beef with Auburn? I have no beef. But apparently many of the nation's top HS football players do.
Their class is currently 8th in the SEC alone...that may even be dropping.

Kiffin reeling them in

Under Armour All-American defensive tackle Leonard Williams (Daytona Beach, Fla./Mainlaind) signed with USC Wednesday. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound four-star also considered Auburn, Florida and Florida State. He took official visits to The Plains (Oct. 14), Tallahassee (Jan. 13), Southern Cal (Jan. 20) and Gainesville (Jan. 23).
Southern Cal has won the seemingly wide open recruiting battle for Under Armour All-American athlete Nelson Agholor (Tampa, Fla./Berkeley). The 6-foot-1, 180-pound talent selected USC over Florida, Florida State, Notre Dame and Oklahoma Wednesday on ESPN.Auburn, South Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Vanderbilt, Texas, Alabama, Miami-FL, Oregon, TCU and Tennessee also offered the nation’s No. 47-rated prospect in the ESPNU 150.

UNC still had a great class today especially considering we are way past due finding out what sanctions are coming our way. Thats a big reason to miss out on recruits in state this year.http://northcarolina.scout.com/2/1154245.html

Outside of the Deontay Greenberry switch, I'm pretty pleased with ND's class. Was hoping Greenberry would fill in Floyd's void.

Dodson to tOSU. :flex:
I thought 24 was their limit because of the "sanctions"?
can take as many as they can this year as long as they stay at 82 total...link to scholarship count...believe it's current
so they'll be cutting upper classmen?
As of now, the current number reflects several dismissals and transfers. Jamaal Berry is still on the roster but it's believed that he will also be kicked off the team. That will open another spot. Also, I read that all early enrollees will count towards last years totals.

OU has a chance at a very good class with the No. 1 Prep (Metoyer) and Nos. 7, 21 & 40 Jucos (Latu, Everett & Nelson) thrown in.
I like the JUCO market, not sure why they haven't been doing more of this before. These guys can play on day one and Everett will likely start at the nickel when they open on Sept 1st (of course we have no idea who they are playing).
Hopefully these guys will perform well and they'll keep doing it. But I'm betting a lot of the impetus was losing so many transfers this off-season.
OU hit the Jucos even harder. The No. 12 overall and No.2 WR, 4* Courtney Gardner. So 4 of the Top 40.

Interesting.

Interesting that Neal, out of Arizona, reportedly tried to sign with OSU, but was refused. OSU must believe that diggs is theirs.

You'll have to define "great" to me. I see a bunch of 2 and 3 star "meh" players and a class not even in the top 30. If they would have gotten just half the talent that left the state, they'd easily have a top 25 class with some talent that would easily replace anyone they got this year. Just doesn't make sense to me. I look at NCSU and they are even worse off according to the rankings. These schools should be building walls around the state imo.

So, "attrition" is the way. Makes sense. Since this board was down, I was out reading elsewhere and have a lot of questions about the B1G. I read that schools were going to start offering 4 year scholarships  I think that's awesome. I also saw where Tressel supposedly sold a house for over 2 million (that he bought for a little over 1 million, to the "booster" that was involved in either the cars or the tats...don't remember which. Oh, and rcmb is whining like a bunch of babies about recruiting this year along with Wisky.

Interesting.
He's a good sized dude too. 6'3" 215# 4.4 40. He had 61 receptions for 1099 yards and 13 TDs last year.So they'll have Stills, Reynolds, Franks and Jackson returning and Gardner and Metoyer should make an immediate impact.Oh, and OU landed 3 4* HS WRs too.
